Trump Economy and Poker

About six years ago I put up a post pointing out that the good Trump economy was probably very good for the poker games

Yeah, the decoupling is more visible when the market cap of a few companies trumps the metrics of the middle class. The stock market wont move based on the health of the bottom 90% like it would have if it was 1975.But I think the president has a much smaller influence (tariffs included) than people think. It's still primarily productivity and consumer behavior and a race to

Also thing is we already had a pretty bad dip in 2022 under Biden. The S&P 500 lost about 19%. And even this year we had a notable dip back in April. Maybe we already got through the worst.

Again though to be specific, this is simply a number thing. We have four years of Donald Trump’s first term where the stock market performed well. Trump outperformed George W. Bush by quite a big margin and also even Ronald Reagan. He also outperformed Joe Biden and Barack Obama. And so far this year … whatever Trump‘s decisions have been on instituting tariffs , and then pulli

Ladies and gentlemen, a Trump voter and his childish, uninformed and extremely naive view on economy.....

...if we didn’t have a great man like FDR at the helm the USA could’ve lost WW2 ...

I think you meant 'the allies could've lost WW2'

by TheKnight00 m

My point and I think it is quite fair to say in general that the American middle class has been struggling tremendously since we moved a lot of the steel and auto jobs away during the 1990s.

But 60%+ of Americans didn;t say the economy sucked in the 90s. They say that now.

The issue there is the stock market now reflects global demand and dominance from a handful of giant tech companies where majority of revenue comes from outside the US.

Its a big world and its why the market was so sensitive to tariffs - not because it hurt Jack and Diane and her two kids, but because hit slowed down the movement of a boatload of money and products, globally, to its consumers.

lol….

Technically it’s fine…. The USA could’ve fell and perhaps the Soviet Union would’ve still been standing. But yeah, you got the point…. Having a good leader does matter for the economy it can have an effect.

It’s all good …

About six years ago I put up a post pointing out that the good Trump economy was probably very good for the poker games since it would create more excess income for many people which we would see in the poker games. Unfortunately, Covid came and, of course, I got attacked by some people for saying something positive about Trump.Anyway, I expect something similar to happen again

10 down, we still have 8 months left for the poker utopia to show itself

The plo games on wpt gold are pretty good

Possible people will feel a lot better about the economy in 8 months.....but most people are saying Trump is making things worse. Seems like ge needs to abandon his whole platform to get consumer sentiment, which makes sense as everyone was warning how big of a drag his proposed policies would be.

Obviously the gambling insertion in the bill is bad for poker/gambling. Hopefully it will get recinded sometime in the future. But everything else relative to the Trump economy seems to be right on schedule.

5 mnonths later I'm sure things are still great and the economy is roaring like we thought it would; but the most interesting thing to me is even hardcore rurals, non college extreme whites etc seem to be willing to say the economy is bad and getting worse. Trump polling on the economy is the worst it's ever been and even people who a year ago who would say "of course tariffs and mass deportations/labor force disruption will reduce prices" and stare back at you blankly when asked "ok, how" now rate trump poorly on the economy. That seems surprising.... I would have guessed these types would go full on North Korea and just say the economy is great.

We’re not underwater like China. How well our economy is doing in a given year is less the direct result of our fuhrer's actions and more the result of decisions made by thousands of strategists and purchasing managers.

Hey at least you finally got the ‘boom’ part right

You absolute ****ing idiot

We haven't reached 18 months yet....

Next stop: poker boom!

You did it, Mason!

Anyway, let’s talk that trump economy and our upcoming poker boom, shall we?

It’s almost impressive to see that imbecile drag the S&P down 7% in a single month unilaterally cuz bibi needs to be happy while gas goes up $1.20 a gallon in that same month cuz patriotism has a price or somethin

Love that trump economy, huh, boomer bumass?

That’s just a buncha libtards who don’t understand how good the trump economy is gonna be for poker

I happen to be in LV right now. It is more dead than I can ever remember.

This has more to do with the Vegas business model which now caters to people with big money. Average to middle class people can’t afford to go no more. They need to bring back the 5.95 Steak and lobster.

Not that I care about his reasoning cuz mason is just a deeply unserious person with deeply serious problems, but handwaving inflation and legitimate economic anxiety that would, you know, presumably impact the disposable income people are going to gamble with by saying hurpadurp S&P, I mean I got nothing

Seriously though Mason, don’t waste your energy responding to this. Or do waste your time I guess, I don’t care, you’re just too stupid to take seriously no matter what you choose to say to treat like a grown up

Unit sales of 'The Theory of Poker' are probably a far better barometer of how the "poker economy" is doing than your gut read.
