My general aversion to improbable conspiracy theories is long-standing, but I don't want to hear Trump or his supporters complain when he is the target of them. No president in my lifetime has promoted even one tenth as many dumb conspiracies as Trump. He has lapped the field several times over on this metric.

Literally every single time a right-wing halfwit complains about "the media isn't reporting it!," a quick google shows they are utterly and completely wrong. Every single time. I don't know how they manage to **** up like that so consistently. It's super easy to check cnn.com before whining about CNN's coverage, but they don't think to do it.

We are completely through the looking glass when it comes to social media and journalism. People need to accept that information is likely to show up on the front page of MSM a beat later than it shows up in their Twitter feed. That's because the MSM has to be more concerned with accuracy than the dumb **** in your social media feed.

In general, erroneous claims about whether the media is reporting something fall somewhere between mistakes and deliberate lies, but far closer to the latter than the former imo.

We have never seen a person face half as much criticism as trump handle it as stoic or with as much grace as trump has.

Someone shared a tweet about the incident. I immediately went to cnn to verify the tweet was real. There was nothing there...at least not on their main page.

1. Someone tried to kill trump: they didn’t
2. That person got killed by secret service: they didn’t
3. It was all over Twitter: I believe it
4. Somehow the fake news media wasn’t reporting on this: lol

Republicans are committing mass political violence on multiple entire marginalized communities, throughout the country and world, on a daily basis, as an important part of their political project, but some of those people may or may not be in the US illegally, so I guess they don't count.
