Largely a myth; Trump enjoys significant support among middle-class and rich Republicans. And why not? He passed a big tax-cuts-for-the-rich bill just like any other Republican would. It was arguably his biggest policy "achievement" in his first term. Central Florida is certainly replete with new $60k pickup trucks adorned with Trump bumper stickers.
This idea that there are two separate groups of "MAGA cultists" and "normal Republicans" is very pervasive and completely wrong. There is only some little sliver of anti-Trump Republicans, a stinking pile of pathetic dorks who start little feckless grift groups like The Lincoln Project and Republicans Against Trump. I wonder what percentage of the population of these groups were A-OK with Bush stealing the election in 2000. 90%? 95%?
90%-95% is also a decent approximation of the percentage of Trump's policies that these types are cool with. They want to bomb Iran too. They dislike "woke ideology" too. They love tax cuts for the rich too.

There IS a divide in the conservative community, but it's not about economic class. There's a pretty clean schism right now. On one side, you have the old staid neocon types, and on the other, the Nazi/Groyper/Christofascist types. Ben Shapiro vs. Nick Fuentes. Delightfully, members of these competing groups seem to hate each other approximately as much as leftists hate liberals/Democrats and vice versa.
Go on Twitter and you'll see countless Nazi accounts posting the vilest stuff imaginable; death wish after death wish upon brown people, black people, poor people, LGBTQ people, non-Christians, liberals, centrists, and really, anybody who isn't them, but then they sneak in the occasional post from a Palestinian activist, some of whom being legit left-wingers. True Horseshoe Theory. Of course, the reasons that these groups feel this way are completely different -- we are opposed to Israel's genocide because we are horrified at the senseless mass death of innocent humans and our own government's complicity in it, and they are opposed to Israel's genocide because they hate Jewish people, but the phenomenon exists regardless.
