I think it's actually a pretty honest mindset. He's clear that he often makes plays because his goals are different (ie, to win and to some extent to have fun) than maximizing his own EV, but he is at least aware of the solver/GTO play (I'll leave it to people who understand it way better than me how well he really understands it). You're right in the sense that he comes off as a low limit player but that's not an insult - ie, he's someone who still likes and enjoys the game and can have fun doing it, as opposed to all those high stakes "crushers" who spend every second of their lives trying to eke out one extra glimmer of short term EV.

I think this is why he has so many fans. Low stakes grinders watch his videos and think, he and i aren’t so different, if the deck wasn’t against me I would be him. I watched a couple of episodes of the 2026 vlogs and he really gets more insufferable with every single year. Up until about 2024, even though he was still a delusional self-centred narcissist, you could somewhat turn a blind eye on that just because the vlog production was fantastic but this year it is just too much.
His delusion of being somewhere in the "a-tier list" with the other NLHE SHR regs while looking down upon anyone who does not regularly play 50k+ events (lol), the delusion of not being treated any differently there than any other players (don't you have a private break room, recording rights for full clips from the events, some say in the organisation and structure of the tournaments, voting rights in HOF, "I could get you re-hired" options and who knows what else you deluded moron), the patronizing of the low stakes players like he is so much better than everyone else.
