This stuff slaps. I plunge li'l dill pickles into the white stuff for a good time.

Slaps? Just when I got used to good things banging, they start slapping. Us old folks can't win.

Not the worst Doritos I've ever had. A bit like Cool Ranch, less ranchy/spicy (are they?). I would eat more.

These came out as a new product at my local grocery store, so I gave them a try. Do not recommend unless you really like Funyuns and wish they came in other flavors.

Hot take or not?

I like the original version of the majority of chips I consume.

Original Lay's (don't hate the sour cream and onion)
Original Ruffles (best chip for dipping in sour cream and onion dip)
Original Nacho Cheese Doritos (maybe a taco seasoning I didn't hate? Flaming ? Nah)
Original Fritos (great with homemade chili. But no use for chili flavored Fritos)
Original Pringles (just stop, nobody needs dill pickle flavored Pringles)

Exceptions:

Zapp's Hotter 'N Hot jalapeno
Pretty much any kettle cooked Salt and Vinegar (whatever is cheapest, the one with the lighthouse. Best?)

Every Zapp is a good Zapp, imo. I once ordered a sample case delivered, 20+ years ago!

My favorite pretzel is the Zapp's Honey Mustard. Much better than Dot's Honey Mustard and Dot's are great!

I'm mostly with you.
Lay's--don't like the sour cream and onion but do like salt & vinegar and limon. Will eat bbq occasionally.
Ruffles--original is fine. I'd rather use the regular chip for dip unless the dip is very thick.
Original Fritos--I probably have a small bag most days. Can't recall the last time I had a flavored Frito.
Pringles--haven't had one in 30+ years.
Not a huge fan of Doritos. Prefer original Tostitos for dipping.

Not a fan of any kettle chips.

Biggest problem for me is finding a good potato chip dip around here. I'm certainly not going to make one.
My favorite is cucumber, but I haven't seen one of those in years.

These ****ers are dangerous.

Tried these a couple of weeks ago and I can see the allure but just didn't work for me. My goto chips are Mrs. Vickies Honey Mustard and Krunchers Sweet Haiwian Onion.

kettle chips suck imho

I'm in with CC (and Earl, I assume). Standard snacks are just fine by me.

try not to be a big chip eater anymore, but when i do these trend to be the picks

kettle brand but only jalapeno or krinkle cut salt & pepper (any other flavor of theirs is pretty much a hate crime upon potato farmers)
plain ruffles ridges specifically for use with french onion or clam dip (although those krinkle cut kettles are also amazing in this scenario)
baked ruffles sour cream & cheddar particularly with low fat college cheese as a dip
pop corners white cheddar or spicy queso also great for getting your next degree in community college cheeses
original fritos for chili pies and similar sorts of ez-cheezing concession stand mexi-themed dip scooping feed from a paper tray
nacho cheese doritos but only when applied to the inlaws secret family sour cream cheese with blended envelope salad dressing mix party dip

I'm particularly interested in the low fat college cheese dip.

I'm assuming it was just a mild yeast infection

A bold take, McLovin.

Wrong, but certainly bold.

Edit: Tom too! Savage.

Just incase this hasn't been covered "All Dressed" flavor chips are fire. Combination of BBQ, sour cream and onion, and salt and vinegar. Sounds nasty but it works some how. I've had the Ruffles and the Lays version. Thumbs up.

Looks like I'm always the contrarian. Those taste like BBQ chips gone bad to me. If I've had a couple of drinks I can tolerate them, but otherwise I'll look for another option. I like salt and vinegar, but it must be the sour cream and onion that is interfering with my enjoyment of them.

It's great that there are enough options that even a picky eater like me can find several different potato chip flavors to enjoy!

the ‘everything bagel’ approach to not wasting all the left over flavoring and making something great

Not a big crisp/chip eater, but definitely going to give these World Cup ones a go next time I go shopping.

Agreed.

I've always heard how good Dot's pretzels are and finally bought some for a road snack. They deserve their reputation. The honey mustard flavor is great.

Not a big fan of dots, there’s some sort of lingering sweetness that doesn’t do it for me

Not sure if this belongs here or in the Cooking Everything Else thread, but here goes...

Annie Chun's or Momofuko? Who ya got?

This Spring while in Mt dealing with shiz, I had my first Annie Chun's Sweet Chili, loved it! Single serving, microwave, pretty tasty. Have now tried several other flavors, and generally like the products. Kinda pricey, ~$5/serving.

Ran across a 4-pack of Momofuko at Target, Tingly Chili. Was aware of the product line but had not had a chance to try any until today. Decent, but I have to admit, not my favorite. Requires boiling water, no microwave. Less convenient. Claims high protein (13g? But lots of carbs, too) $9.99/4 servings. Flavor is decent. Definitely want to boil the noodles a little more than their recommended 4 min ("Boil longer for softer noodles." Should have.)

I'd love to learn of other products along these lines. Spicy oriental noodles FTW.

Have you dabbled with any of the Buldak ramens? The 2x spicy is crazy hot but the flavor is awesome. I haven't mustered up the courage to try the 3x. The other flavors (carbonara in particular) are still quite spicy but not outrageously so.

Buldak is awesome, either in the skillet or traditional ramen style. That 2x spicy is POW!
