Today I made a nice little play utg tight open tight call I btn 75443 3! to $50 sb tight cold call utg jam $95 folds to me I make it $300 folds we get it heads up versus at QJTT9 and flop 422 lol. These players make it so easy when they all play face up ranges pre. Or I’m just a donk getting lucky? 😀

Hey everyone it’s pride month and it was just mental health awareness month and im feeling a little down… I feel like giving back so I’m offering one free half hour of plo5 coaching to someone who gives me a good reason to pick them. I’ll leave entries open until next Wednesday June 10.

Yesterday was a slow day, I got KK554ss kings in pre against aces at 5/5 and otherwise the session was sorta uneventful. Might have lost or won a few hundo. The games were just ok and I lost a big pot with JT987ds on KQ3cc my suit just bricked.

At least I got plenty of sleep and recovered from earlier in the work week. I’m also feeling in a better mood than I did yesterday which is good.

Happy Pride month DT, I was listening to the radio recently and this episode on Oliver Sipple came on it was a great listen. He was the ex Vietnam war marine who disarmed a woman attempting to assassinate Gerald Ford. mr Sipple also happened to be gay, very interesting case if your unfamiliar check it out

https://radiolab.org/podcast/oliver-sipp...

Hope you feel better soon maybe an exotic latte will cheer you up!

Do you ever have gaydar go off athe tables? Id be pretty tilted if a flamboyantly gay man was taking me to pound town on the felt, maybe this is something you can exploit? Your probably good enough to crush without that but maybe for pride do an experiment go full on Bruce Villanche and see what happens!

Please choose me for plo5 coaching I'll send you shirtless pix
Been flying the rainbow on my bicycle for a long time down here in the boonies with no problems

Won at 5/5 and 25/50/100 hold em, lost some profit back at hold em but managed to win around $7, 500 on the day anyway. I think I’m finally profitable for the month now as well which is always nice. Biggest pot was KK all in pre for $8, 000 with stand up game on and I held on both run outs. $13, 715 left on the challenge.

I would like to make at least $30, 000 a month in poker profit for the rest of the year. I think it’s possible but it will be challenging. Let’s see!

Running ok at 10/10 plo tonight, folded the winner once but a boat draw got there and it was reasonable even though I was getting a good price on the river.

Ran bad at 5/5 losing a big pot with 65432ds on 952r multi-way to KQJT9 and an 8-high hand with no pair and a straight draw. Also lost AAQQJ to T4 on T43 at a low spr. Won AAAT7 nut clubs on 752cc versus a worse draw. At 10/10 played QQ passively and picked off a bluff. Got a great night’s sleep but woke up late. It’s ok because I’m not scheduled to cover any hospitals this week and I could just take leave if I wanted to.

Did fine at 5/5 in a mediocre game and booked the win. Otherwise slow day, hanging out in the mix for a bit before a low week at work. Probably going to take some leave.

A “friend” who I gave my guide to was talking behind my back to a really annoying negative player and I was not happy about it at all. Not friends anymore. He also says things to needle me. Unfortunate that my kindness did not get reciprocated.

Sorry to hear that there are people who don't appreciate your PLO5 expertise. On that note, I just wanted to say that I follow your journey daily and genuinely admire what you're doing. Respect and thank you.

Related to the post, I was curious about the 65432ds hand. Based on your book and general hand selection principles, isn't that more or less a pure fold preflop in most situations? I'd be very interested to hear how that hand ended up in the game.

If you ever find some time after a session, I think many of us would enjoy a bit more detail on some of these preflop spots, especially the marginal ones. For example, what the exact situation was and why you chose a line that might be far from GTO.

Just an idea... given the schedule you've described, I completely understand that detailed write-ups are not always realistic.

Thanks for continuing to share the journey, and best of luck on the road to the $30k/month goal.

Because the value of low hands go up significantly the more players who VPIP preflop, assuming they are playing high oriented hands and not garbage. You are supposed to shove random non-AA hands for value in certain spots against tight range configurations even in gto land. For example J9877ds I jammed versus reg utg open reg utg 1 3! I cold call utg 4! and utg 1 flat. I felt it was very likely they both had aces or at least similar hands.

It takes a lot of experience to determine when to pull off this move so I don’t recommend it for beginners.

I was watching Brunson make a three in the last crucial seconds of the NBA finals game tonight and I could relate to that level of talent to perform under immense pressure, it was touching. I do feel like I have gotten close to a level in poker like those guys on the screen have in basketball. It’s pretty cool.

Last night made over $12, 000 from 5/5 and 1/2 plo5. At 5/5 sdAAT86 won on J97r versus a set+ at spr 1.25, at 1/2 won AQQ77ds on QT4 my Q fd versus wrap and lower fd against a hold em player I’d been trying to stack all night. Played later than usual because I took a couple days off work this week as I expected. It brought me back to the good old grave shift I played full time, and the games did not disappoint.

Interesting how you compare yourself with an elite player who competes with the best while you chase fish around and hit and run all day long.

Last session was very slow, made some at 5/5 and the rest of the day after the game broke was pretty slow. I lost a couple big pots at 1/2 running top two into top set at spr 2.75 in a 3! pot and overpair nut gutter double bdfd beat by wrap. These hands were unnecessary to be honest I was probably just getting fed up with how boring the day had been. Still ended up making a few hundred as I staged a come back to get almost out of the hole.

Towards the end of the night a crotchety old reg declined to tip the cleaning lady a $1 after I suggested he chip in with me too, he said I’ll do whatever I want with my money big shot. I said ok I’m going to raise and steal your $2 big blind so I can give it to her. He of course defended and I won and gave her the tip! Good times.

Taking a break from the grind to have lunch and a decaf vanilla latte on my second day off, it's sunny outside and I ran good at plo winning AJTT8ds on T65 three ways and AAKQ2ds versus ?? on A35 my nfd and he actually flopped a wheel somehow but I made my flush and scooped. Today I officially surpassed my $60k br challenge three weeks ahead of schedule!

Congrats on your success the last couple of months. It seems like life is pretty balanced which is great.

I don't know a single thing about PLO or PLO5 but did you pick a winner for your coaching? I'm not asking for me just curious lol.

All the best. Here is my question. How do you deal with the stress of life? In December I had a heart issue, then work problems which led to some financial stuff. Stressing about my body, mind and financial stuff is tough.

Today is the last day to respond and there was only one person to claim it so far. I may extend it to Friday.

Life stress? I take it one day at a time. I exercise a lot. I sleep well most nights. I have a decent routine. I enjoy simple pleasures. I talk to my therapist and family and friends about difficult times. I relax. I think sexual health is overlooked a lot, but that’s important too. I don’t neglect my health or my responsibilities. My mental health is important to everything else working well so I take care of that too so I don’t end up back in a hospital or worse.

I have confidence that I can overcome hurdles because I’ve already been through a lot. I believe I am capable of difficult things like my job and professional poker because I’ve been doing them for a while now successfully. That helps calm me down when I get anxious.

Keeping things consistent helps and reduces surprises that might throw off your emotions.

Yesterday ran well at 1/2 and 5/5 again, winning around $3.5k. Got to see the nail biter comeback game with the Nicks which was really fun too.

Raised AKKQ2ds flop K99dd check raised small and everyone folded but got a pot sized $600 bet out of the button at least.

Funny thing happened at 5/5 when I got back from dinner list. It took a couple hours for the seat to open up and I was top of list off the dinner list. When I took the seat I brought back everything I had won earlier in the day as is required to go on dinner list. The regs demanded that I come in for table max not what I won earlier and called the floor on me. The floor ruled in my favor though. Not the first time a reg has demanded I effectively go south because they are afraid of me, lol. Cowards. At least this time the floor knew the rules. Last time they actually made me go south and I just quit.

Taking a little relaxation break to refocus and recharge before wrapping up my session, lost AA nfd and wrap to oesd no pair somehow at 1/2 plo, an 80/20 on the turn, but ran much better at 5/5 and made around $1.5k there for a few hundo profit so far. Enjoying a vanilla decaf latte with protein powder and some burpees and push ups before heading back.

I feel like the past few days were a nice change of pace and a reminder that there's more to life than poker. I'm up around $17k on my break from work but I don't feel a whole lot. With work, although stressful, I do feel emotions, both good and bad.

Made around $2, 500 last night mainly from 5/5. I had a dream I was cross examining a psychiatrist about staff putting red dye in the pool water where my client was standing which freaked her out.

At 5/5 won a double board bomb pot with top two fd on one board and a set on the other and I filled up on both boards. Feeling under the weather with a sore throat and achy today, bummer. At least I’m not covering any hospitals until next week.

After a long session I booked a small win and woke up late today. 1/2 went poorly and 5/5 was going ok until I ran KKQ77 into AA bvb 120bb eff. when a short stack re- opened the action, also ran KQJ95ds into AA later when another short stack jammed putting me in a jam or fold spot so I wouldn’t get jammed on myself. Later won a double board bomb pot with double nut flush draw double two pair and nut gutter versus straight on one and nothing on the other.

Played an overnight session to get my sleep schedule in order. Slept 14 glorious hours. What a swingy session, lost early then made a comeback at 10/10/25 winning a couple hands all in pre like AKQT2ds and AK864ds and scooping and was up several thousand. Took a break and returned and game got worse, lost double board bomb pot with ATcc833 on KQcc2A and T828 turns to TTK43, 4 on river giving him two pair and I didn’t quad on the bottom. Then got 1/4 my stack in pre with a double suited rundown and lost to 7-high on 34K after I made top pair at a low spr and was stuck after being up a a few thousand. Game broke once 5/5 ran and I left for that game where I lost another double board bomb pot with the nut flush on one and nfd on the other against two pair and a set all in on the turn and both boats got there. Would have gotten me almost out of the hole if I won, a $7k pot. Won most of my losses from 5/5 back with AAQ44 all in pre and the action left and so did I after a whirlwind session. Not sure I played poorly just how the cards fell this time. One super tilting thing happened after I lost a 10k pot at 10/10, I had a few reds and whites on the felt no one noticed after getting stacked and I left to get more chips at the cage, someone asked if I was coming back and noticed the chips and the dealer two hands later picked them up while I wasn’t at the table and handed them to the winner of the hand even though no one asked. Talk about insult to injury.

Also claimed a seat change and toxic pro tried to sit to my left in the same seat and claimed he called it first…called the floor and he finally relented.

Sorta happy to have this session happen to me because it was another reminder of the drawbacks of poker as it’s not all daisies and roses. Nice to have something else to keep me occupied when it’s not going as well.

Got one-outted in a double board bomb pot with top set to middle set all in on the flop but still made around $2, 100 on the session at 5/5 plo. (Been running poorly in some of these dbbp lately!) Ran good elsewhere like other bomb pots which one player in particular was playing very poorly. Won half of a big 4! pot $750 pre with KKQJ8ss on T92r which I bet almost all in on the flop $1, 800 which chopped with a really bad hand that flopped just top pair.

A good friend who I met through poker is having some serious health problems and I stacked him a couple weeks ago and gave him a buy in before I left I felt so bad. He has a lot of medical bills and no spare money to play which he does for income so I offered to stake him at a small fraction of the normal staking arrangements for a small share of his profits so he can keep playing. Figured it’s a win win as he’s a winning player and I would just be putting that money into the market anyway at a lower average return rate and this way he can afford to play and earn some more money.

Yesterday after client interviews was a slow session, as soon as I sat down a reg asked for a table change lol, mostly got it in good a few times against a gambler and lost them all KQJT2ds QT8hh my fd against his naked nfd, nut flush against second nut flush sf gutter and two pair all in turn, he boated river, and KKQJT on J93hh versus his QT974hh lost as well where I was slightly behind this time until the turn where my equity improved.

Staked my friend and hope it goes well, I’m rooting for him. Told him to focus on his health and recovery and not to worry about playing as much. He’s a cool dude. When people trash talk me he always stands up for me, he knows me better than most as we’ve been friends for many years dating back to when I was a baby grinder just starting 1/2 plo. He knows I used to have issues with losing and getting upset when I was playing full time and was growing pretty unhappy from the grind but also knows I’ve improved my table image tremendously over the years. The other day I got one outted in a bomb pot in set over set in a $3,500 pot and did a little dance in my chair, it didnt faze me. Many people only remember the past and don’t recognize change.
