Stephen Chidwick did an AMA recently. He has around $75 million in earnings on HendonMob. One redditor asked how much he has profited from that $75million in earnings. He answered (respect to him) around $5-10 million.
You can imagine, as we all are, how Maurice is doing with his earnings.
Thats interesting when you think about it.... Chidwick who is arguably the best tournament player ever has a profit equivalent to about 7% of his overall reported hendonmob winnings. Extrapolating that inffo, lets say a "pro" has $3,000,000 in reported winnings. What is there real profit ? $150,000? Live tournaments really arent profitable for anyone but the casino . They should be viewed as a lottery ticket, outside of say the top 100 players in the world. One caveat being the WSOP Main Event. That specific tournament is still profitable for a lot of people. I would guess 30% of the field is +EV.
