President Donald Trump

President Donald Trump

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at

I'm always bemused as to what people expect to happen when they keep voting least worst and for doing **** all. And driving huge swathes of the electorate into the welcoming embrace of the populists/extremists

How do they expect it to go?

I'm always bemused that you think this is some kind of mic drop.

You're no better than Nut Nut saying, "Hot take, climate change is a real thing."

It's easier to understand when you look at both parties as a unified theatrical production employed by wealthy owners.

My hot take is not about the reality of climate change. It's about how quickly it will thoroughly overwhelm human infrastructure.

Whatever you need to justify yourself

keep supporting things falling apart and then be surprised if you want.

I listened to about 5 minutes of trump's presser. My brain hurts. How could anybody this stupid get elected. I'll never understand.

Most people abroad who watched the US slip further and further towards authoritarian kleptocracy saw this coming from a population deliberately kept ignorant and fed a diet of jingoism.

OK roasted, not so good boiled.

US are not looking good as a world cup host.

US are not looking good as a world cup host.

FIFA obviously chooses only the most upstanding nations to host.

I keep finding myself rooting against US teams more and more lately.

This just makes me miss hockey season more.

Oppose him with unpopular women anointed by party insiders.

Well, no. This is what happens when you have a stupid racist electorate that is guided by their noses by right wing oligarchs.

There will never be a time when the blame for electing a convicted felon rapist racist dumb**** lies on anyone but the people that voted for him.

If the aim of politics is to blame people then wow! are we winning. With so much more winning to come.

Who said anything about it being the aim of politics?

That would be me. I have this odd view that politics is about aims at least as much as anything else.

I appreciate that's a very odd idea in a politics forum

the point of politics in the West is to browbeat and virtue signal. the point of politics in other places is life or death.

If there were any folks impartial to how the US fares in this year’s WorldCup, there aren’t any more.

No one wants the US to advance after Trump’s bullshit. Such an embarrassment.

His presence seems to be the kiss of death.

The Knicks won something like 13 of 14 to close out the post-season. The one loss was the game that Trump attended at Madison Square Garden.

That stupid racist electorate voted Obama to be president.

7 million people voted for both Obama and Trump.

If Obama had governed the way he campaigned in 2008, Trump probably would not have been elected. Neoliberalism is what has killed the Dems, not racism.

The electorate has no way to vote against right wing economic policy that concentrates wealth in fewer hands. No way to vote against blue collar work being shipped overseas. They voted for a guy who might blow the whole system up.
