That’s great. Will deploy next time. I recently came up with “ring of fire” which is a 5 card board but the second and third card on the flop, and the turn, are dealt as double board, with a single river.

So the board is 1-2-2-2-1

You can use the board as you want but you can only use one each of any of the three double cards. Players have a really hard time reading this board especially with Omaha formats.

Found out one of the players in a home game I'm in FTd the Salute to Service. Good for them!

Feel good session today where I never made a hand bigger than one pair, never showed down, and +100bb in four hours.

Got wrecked in Vegas, first session back won 300BB in 2 hours, then last Saturday:

Before that: My room just raised the buy in limit for 1/3 from 400 to 600, and now has a regular 2/5, 1000 cap game that runs every Saturday. Nice. Lots of people who only used to buy in for 100-200 are all now buying in for SIX? My games might be awesome now.

Called a raise in the BB with QTss against a 70+ guy playing a VPIP higher than his age and has bought in (according to the table) for over 2K already and he has shown down all kinds of stuff - from the nuts to toilet paper. Everyone realizes it which is why we're going 4 ways.

Flop: AQT rainbow, no spades. Check to him, he bets 25, I am the only caller.

Turn: 7d. I now lead 75 into 90 because he has LOTS of random crap including Qx, Tx and even 7x, and even if he has Ax, he's going to keep putting money in. He calls.

River: 9h. I bet the remaining 266 in my stack into 230. He waits about 15 seconds before calling. I say "two pair" and show. He looks at the board for about 40 seconds before rolling over KJ black for the flopped nutter butters.

LMAO. Slowroll #14 this year. And there's 6 months to go.

I like him already

That MOFO has A4 99% of the time... OF COOOOOOOOURSE he has KJ in that spot when I move in.

I think my games are getting better. I've seen a few people who were in underground games for years start to surface again since they move the cap up.

Fun times ahead.

Tugged at my heart bro
I have a lot of interests and never mind laying off poker some and usually only play about once a week anyway, but I always enjoy it when I get the chance.

What is no fun? Did you burn yourself out, because I have no experience with playing too much? The luck factor?

Do you need somebody to give you the worm speech from Rounders? I don’t understand

The vibes of the game felt too grindy, not enough convo, no drinking, etc. work has also been extra soul sucking which doesn’t really make a 60-80 minute drive each way to the casino very enticing afterwards.

I’ve generally been playing with the same rotating cast of characters over the last 15+ years. A few of the more prominent players have been playing less with us and moved to seriously huge games. They were generally the glue (imo) that held the game together and made it fun for recs like me.

Wife has also been dealing with health issues, nothing super serious but enough impact to our lives where I’m holding down the fort for the most part while she gets things sorted out.

Best wishes for the wife MC.

Just had one hell of a scare. We had a new mattress delivered today, so we put the (lifetime indoor) cats in spare rooms and shut them in for the duration. At one point, I went by and the front door had blown open (I hadn't latched to make things easier for the delivery folks), but NBD with the cats closed in to spare rooms.

When delivery was over, we let the cats out of their rooms, and one of them was empty. We tore the house apart looking and walked the neighborhood calling, to no avail. Two hours later, the little ninja walked up from wherever she'd been hiding and asked "are they gone? Is it safe now?"

Very relieved but also rather annoyed with cat at the moment.

Had a similar experience and finally saw a small tuft of tail poking out between a kitchen cabinet and the wall. Cat had to have jumped on top of the fridge, crawled between the cabinets and the ceiling, then found a 4 inch void between two cabinets and jumped down into it.

Furry ninjas, I swear.

Happy Independence Day, American degens.

Happy Saturday, rest of world degens.

Also start of the round of 16.

Also start of the round of 16.

The round where all 3 host teams should bow out.

1 down, 2 to go.

Me after I open EP and we go five ways to the flop.

We built a catio and let 2 of the 10 cats used it today for the first time. The cats go thru a cracked bedroom window to enjoy their new playground.

An hour later we see a lifelong indoor cat out in the yard. He's liquid. He managed to pour himself thru a gap we didn't think he could fit thru.

We got him back inside, shut the windows, and tmr have more work to do to seal every crack.

We have a farm and cats show up. They get fixed and have a home. We've adopted out a dozen.

Hey guys how do people put slashes in their thread titles? I made a thread and wanted to label it as 1/3 but kept getting error that I needed to remove special characters

Were you using the new interface, or the classic?

Wow DEKE, when I first started, I thought, "10 cats?!?!?".

The explanation at the end of owning a farm makes it make sense. Good work adopting and fixing them!

1 down, 2 to go.

Now 2 down, 1 to go. Go Belgium. [emoji1045]

Good on you, Deke. Our cats are barn finds themselves.

The missing cat had been on the catio, but there was no openings even a liquid cat could make it through, except the cat door we put in the human door to it, and that was latched and plugged with an insert I made. I made it for insulation, but since one of the cats has figured out how to work the locks, we always plug it when closed. I think the ninja cat either snuck back in behind my wife when she put her out there, or the door didn't latch and she was able to push it open. It was closed when we went looking for her, but the wind might easily have shut it behind her. Just very glad she hid somewhere in the house, rather than bolting out the open front door.

Ever wonder if you're playing speculative hands profitably?

In LLSNL games, we tend to be multiway to flops and, thus, usually need to hit the flop hard with our 97s type hands in order to continue. Small pairs are easier to play because we know they flop a set about 12% of the time and working our the villain stack depths necessary to call a preflop raise and see a flop is easy. But, how often does 97s hit the flop hard? How often does it flop [two pair plus, pair plus flush draw, pair plus straight draw, flush and straight draw, etc]?

Equilab and PPT didn't answer the exact questions that I wanted, so I built an app that brute forces it.

You enter the hand (or range of hands that you are interested in); choose the flopped hand categories that you are interested in (monsters like set through straight flush; two pair combos; one pair combos; draws such as naked flush draw or gut shot straight draw or combo draws such as one pair plus an open ender, etc). Then the app will run 100k or 250k or 500k simulations and spit out the frequency that the hand (or range) that you entered achieves those flopped hand categories.

HMU via PM if you want a copy. You'll need python and tkinter (both easy to install through the command prompt) because I'm too lazy to turn it into a stand alone exe file.

To answer the Q from memory, 98s flopping hard (OESD, FD, 1P+draw, 2P+) is about the same as set mining. But of course, the made set is a different beast than the great draw. 97s isn't a lot worse. My memory isn't what it used to be, so it would be great for you to confirm.

If you ever create the ALLJACKEDUP.COM (TM) website, I would be very interested.

The edge is out there u just gotta look:

A gamboolin buddy of mine who I have worked on a few projects with is wicked fcukin smaht and is a fantastic outside the box thinker. He won 50k this past weekend betting the under on hotdogs consumed by joe-e chess nuts. Turns out joe underperforms when its hot out and the books failed to account for that. it was 99 on coney island for the comp.
