President Donald Trump
I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?
So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at
Obviously, as a person who is recommending communism, I don't subscribe to the notion of beneficial personal financial capital accumulation.
.
I don't want to let go of the power to adapt and survive. Killing off the power structure necessary to guide the group to survival is a bad idea.
I think this is an issue with some modern day communists. You don't want to let go of the power, power that you don't even have, you just want to redirect and pinky promise that it will be wielded in good faith. Won't happen. And I think you've put enough in print to demonstrated that long ago.
I think some of the self identified communists of the West circa Thursday 2026 would fare better if they looked a little more into classical Marxism and its end goals and focusing on human development and reducing domination. Or the pitfalls of power itself and how it can become and has become a problem.
But a lot of people just want to be able to control and decide what others can and cannot do, simply from a result of their personality - so they flock to communism. You've got the environmental protection plan there. But communism wasn't actually supposed to be about that. It jsut turns to **** as a result of it.

You're completely missing the context of the post,
It was written in response to amplify proposing that we abandon all societal power structures and choose leaders and make decisions by drawing straws.
Groups need to make decisions, regardless of governing style.
There is zero pretense in the post that communists have any power in places like the US.
But a lot of people just want to be able to control and decide what others can and cannot do, simply from a result of their personality
"Thou shalt not kill" makes sense to me.
You want to crucify me for that .... go ahead. It isn't going to change my attitude.
Environmental wreckage is murder imo. Argue against that.
Is Trump the athletic kiss of death?
The Knicks won 13 of their last 14 playoff games. The one loss Trump was at Madison Square Garden.
He intervened to get the American soccer player reinstated and the US team got trounced in the next game.
He made a golf video with Bryson DeChambeau..... and he missed cuts at the first 3 majors this year.
I feel like I've laid that out in about 17 different threads for you.
To be blunt and honest, my issue with you is your honesty and your intent. I said at the very beginning of this adventure, literally years ago now back when Wazz was in here, that you should post your ideas and solutions as if your thoughts were public, and to not bullshit me. I told him that too but he gave up.
Now you're in here with the literal ... "thou shalt not kill" once again after we've had arguments like this in a thread you created about how we should decide on who lives and who dies...
If I had to make the choice, I would explore the answer from a perspective of resources.
If resources are scarce, then the value of a person should be considered in terms of the resources they consume vs the resource they offer. A person in a permanent coma on life support would be someone who didn't make the cut..
To put it lightly, I don't think you'd be capable to know what's best for 7 billion people even if you were operating in good faith, or if it had public support, or if you could magically wave a wand to make everyone do exactly as you asked. But I don't think any of this matters outside of entertainment and it really shouldn't matter to you how I disagree with you.
I guess a suggestion for you would be to look into your own possible blind spots, as we all have them, and maybe consider that you may not know enough about the complexities of the world as you think you do.
How we decide who lives and dies is a completely legitimate question. I have zero shame in asking it.
Climate change kills. A lot of what's causing climate change is unnecessary consumption. Recreational activities.
Today .... people are effectively saying that their recreational desires are more important than the lives of people who are an abstraction to them.
That's how we decide who lives and dies today. Is that what you want? I don't.
The question of how we decide who lives and who dies becomes increasingly relevant with each passing day as we pass tipping points toward a shrinking of Earth's carrying capacity for humans.

I just think you should ditch the "Thou shalt not kill" when it's preceded with a proposal that society may need to intentionally end the lives of certain people because of resource scarcity. Or just save it for another potential customer.
But to answer that question, I think we could try lowering birthrates or actual emissions first than cutting off the guy in the coma or the guy that won't work but just eat all the food. But I get that part isn't satisfying enough which goes back to the honesty and intent part.
So ..... who do you think is most capable? Who do you want leading the world and what principles are important to you in how things are run?
72?
No one. You asked me several times what I would do in regard to the climate and I said this.
I would Keep Amazon along with most other conglomerates private but nationalize Healthcare, its insurance, and basic utilities and pharmaceuticals (because the govt alreaady funds alot of the r&d)We carbon tax the giants like Amazon. Tax companies based on carbon footprint and waste, similar to what Sweden does which motivates and forces companies to move towards cleaner ener

I take exception to the world "proposal".
I never advocated for a world in which such life or death decisions must take place and your implication that I did requires a repudiation.
I am acknowledging that such decisions are already being made every day and the likelihood that they will increase means an honest people will grapple with the question rather than hiding from it.
People starve to death today while other people throw out huge quantities of food.
People die prematurely every day in the US because they can't afford health care. Is that the system we want? Is that the right way to decide who lives and who dies?
200 years, slaveholders considered abolitionists crazy in the same way that you all consider me crazy.
The liberty to own human beings was a normal part of life and the ability to imagine it as something malignant was not permitted in slaveholding communities.
Today, the liberty to pollute is no different than the liberty to own slaves 200 years ago.
It's a lack of vision. A form of blindness.

You're that guy that gets pissed off at the dealer because she's bad luck because you can't release a counterfeited low.
Climate related deaths are at an all time low. Infact humans have never been safer from the climate than we are today.
Well I think it’s going to be hard to compare counterfactuals on whether this would still hold true if we immediately took strong action against climate change.
It gets into questions of whether there would be knock on effects of climate resilience measures that would reduce mortality even more than it has been reduced if we were in that different timelines.
