2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
Yeah, there's definitely a ROO that is tough to quantify, given the opportunity distribution at various points of last year. But I think for what we're looking for, and especially for what wins contests, if you were shown two blind profiles and subsequent costs, I think it'd be pretty clear that Hendo is the way better bet to actually matter.
The community consensus was that Mondre was actually a pretty bad inefficient player just a year or 2 ago. Then he was pretty efficient, with some solid advanced metrics, on his touches last season.
And wanting to be in on this offense when it's a clear top 2 makes both justifiable clicks. The decision point is how you want to balance exposure to each.
A better rusher second half of last season.
My biggest exposure is 5/116 in The Puppy 2.
Next is 4/150 in DK's Training Camp.
0/4 in BBM
1/28 in the Milly
He's my highest exposure first round pick, at least for post-draft nonSF lol. I like the bet, but it's more about my pick distribution and the fact I'm not taking anyone outside of the top 8 over him.
Gibbs 7%
Bijan 7%
Chase 10%
Puka 8%
JSN 9%
CMC 11%
ARSB 9%
JT 10%
CeeDee 5%
JJ 6%
Jeanty 8%
Cook 8%
I think I'm happy with the top 8. My goal is for CD/JJ to each be 4-5% then Jeanty/Cook to be 9-10%. But that's also kind of tough, because I'm doing a lot of mixing and matching of the 2nd round guys, which requires passing on Jeanty and Cook at times. Starts like Omarion/Henry, KW/AJB, Saquon/Henry, Saquon/AJB, etc. Also pulling up guys to match with Jeanty and Cook.
Everytime I click McCaffrey I’m tempted to take Jefferson over him.
Mine are below through 250
Gibbs - 9%
Bijan - 5%
Chase - 8%
Puka - 9%
Jsn - 8%
CMC - 11%
Arsb - 7%
JT - 3%
JJ - 12%
CD - 12%
Jeanty - 8%
Cook - 6%
Top rd 2 guys
Barkley - 16%
Walker - 16%
Henry - 16%
Brown - 12% (I think the vast majority was in rd3 though)
London 11%
All interesting to see.
I think this season is going to be a big battle of the rounds 1-3 WRs/RBs versus the rounds 4-6 WRs/RBs. If you start heavy RB, you're hoping the upside WRs are smashing. If you start heavy WR, you're hoping the upside RBs are smashing. Then you also have the top 3 TEs mixed into those ranges, plus Josh and Lamar.
If JJ/CD were behind the big RB tier, I'd want a lot more. I especially think CD should be back there and about even with Pickens. I've capitulated a little bit to JJ, but I'm still not a huge fan of the bet. The RBs all the way to Achane can go for 300+ without surprise. The WRs need a **** ton to go their way to hit 300. JJ's big season in 2022 of 184/128/1,809/8 only netted 304.7 half PPR. Gibbs, Bijan, CMC, JT, Barkley, Henry all have 300+ points under their belts. Cook/Achane were almost there last year at 285/289. Then we're hoping Jeanty, Hampton, KW3, and Chase Brown have the upside to do it, based on their prices.
I'm glad Achane is finally falling to the end of the RB run so I can draft more of him. Achane over Love, Breece, Kyren, etc. is easier than Achane over Omarion, KW, Henry, etc.
I am not understanding this holani stuff that Pete/Pat/Sam are doing
Me neither. Or Kolar. Or Kupp.
I think they’ve gone the wrong way on some of this avoiding pure zero stuff for best ball.
I didn’t realize anyone was actually drafting All lol. I think I’ve clicked Kolar a couple of times over 600+ teams and every time I felt bad. I haven’t clicked Holani, Kupp or All once.
Holani is such a bad click on that Liam team in that RB room.

I clicked All once but wasn’t something I was proud of.
Haha. I take very little Gesicki too. No Iosivas either.
Who can you not stop drafting?
Harold Fanning….He goes later and he’s a stud.
Rasheed Shaheed….Correlates with my soft fade of JSN.
Keaton Mitchell….I’ve been high on him the last couple years.
Omar Cooper….He is gonna get a ton of lay up throws that will allow him to run after the catch. The Jets may be a sneaky good offense this year.
Blake Corum…..I think the Rams are gonna run a ton this year.
Isaiah Likely…..He’s another guy I’ve been on the last few years.
Also, my new late first early second change up is gonna be Jeanty/Bowers. I think Mendoza is gonna be a star and this offense should be condensed.
Just read that the Vikings won’t make a decision on their qb until the last minute . We all know it’s gonna be Kyler but that’s annoying.
Have to be careful not to hurt poor little JJ's feelings. Maybe we can get a Kyler discount off of it.

Fannin is probably my favorite on this list, but I'll still be underweight due to where he goes in the draft. A lot of QBs, end of RB run, end of WR run, LaPorta, Pitts, etc. Just hard to get a lot of Fannin.
I have concerns about volume for Shaheed, Keaton, and Cooper and what those bets ultimately look like. But I can see paths to where they are all good picks for best ball. I will not take any in redraft.
The Corum/Kyren connundrum is a tough one. I have a little more Corum than Kyren, but mainly just trying to be even on both and fitting teams around each of their profiles. I never take them together, but I guess it's possible that could work.
Likely has shown receiving upside, but you still have to wonder if he actually has the consistent talent to take the next step. He's got highlight plays, big plays, etc. He should have some spike weeks, but I'm not sure about consistency. He also goes in a tough range with a bunch of other TEs I like. And while the OC is different, he's still with his old head coach and has not had a full-time role in 4 seasons thus far. The best thing he has going for him is weak target competition behind Nabers. He could be a sell high candidate in the first few weeks of the season, depending on how he performs while Nabers is either out or ramping up.
I think the Vegas offense has a chance to be far improved, but taking both Bowers and Jeanty with your first 2 picks puts a lot of pressure on them to each have big weeks together. I've done it a couple of times, but it's probably not a great bet. I try to avoid pairing teammates in the first 5-6 rounds, especially for how the playoff weeks (and particularly the finals) work and especially at TE with Bowers, where you're very likely only taking 1 more on the team.

Coopers price is fantastic. ThatÂ’s the big draw for me. I realize he plays for the Jets but heÂ’s really good and was a first rounder. I think heÂ’ll be used in a Deebo type of way. IÂ’m not overly concerned about the lack of volume for Shaheed. HeÂ’s a big play guy and will put up spike weeks. I am worried about keaton but I have had high hopes for him since he came out. HeÂ’s got that unknown possible breakout potential. I could see Mcdaniels using him in an Achane type way sort of.
Corum looked good last year. This team might run a lot with that D. I havenÂ’t picked Kyren yet but I will.
I have the feeling IÂ’m too goo goo for Likely.
I agree the Jeanty/Bowers start should be used sparingly. I could see the scenario where Jeanty and Bowers are putting up number each week with a couple Tre Tucker spike weeks. IÂ’m gonna hammer Mendoza the rest of the way.
All fair points. And blindly betting on Omar as a first round pick is generally +ev. But a lot of bad rookie WR seasons from that range of the draft and early second. Plus, loljets. I have some but overall light on the Jets, outside of Sadiq, who is my favorite bet on the team. He’s the first rounder I want to bet on at his price.
Meanwhile, the Vikings are like, Kyler and JJM are competing and also don’t forget about this Brosmer guy! Still have Wentz too. Maybe KOC isn’t actually that sharp and just sun ran a few good regular seasons. So unserious. Does anyone ever buy the media speak, anyways? The players have to roll their eye at this ****.
For the Jets I prefer AD Mitchell to Cooper.
I have some ADM too but that guy is volatile lol.
