The Official ALL THINGS LIV GOLF thread
So it looks like it's happening. For real.
Phil is in. DJ is in. Some journeymen, scrubs, international "veterans", an
Yeah, it's a free and easy bump in attention for however long the PGA puts them in a penalty box for.
Go rehabilitate one's self and get close to God, on the DP World Tour.
I'd say it's almost a 0% chance the PGA Tour doesn't welcome back Rahm, Hatton, Bryson, DJ and maybe Niemann, AK , Cam Smith right away with some penalties. The rest would probably have to earn their way back on tour. Crazy how messy this could get if it does dissolve and players are still owed huge sums of money.
If they are owed money and squawk too loudly its liable to get bone saw messy.
Outside of Rahm, Hatton, and Bryson, who even has standing from LIV anymore? I'm glazing through the OWGR and anyone outside of those three is going to have to rely on exemptions to play, or have to qualify. lol at AK being welcomed back, maybe he can play on the off-field events during majors.
Looks like the event in Mexico got underway so they live to see at least one more tournament.

It seems the consensus is they play out the year. Though Bryson may not be getting that 500 million $ new deal 😀
I hope they make them all go back to Q school or the Korn Ferry . Your still going to get Bryson and Rahm for the majors and I find Rahm not that valuable or likeable reminds me of Sergio
Ya I'm sure sponsors would love to have Rahm, Bryson etc on the side lines while Justin Lower and Adam Schenk tee it up.

AK like Anthony Kim? You have got to be kidding me
Same with Cam imo
but i thought the 2026 season was going to continue as planned and at "full throttle"
this thing is finished
Going to be pure chaos with players finding places to play, I'm here for it.
has LIV 54 offically cratered?
Spoiler
if in a mirror
LIV = 54 | 45 = VIL
would not then
LIVE = 54 | 45 = EVIL
makes you wonder
meanwhile fully expect players and agents getting stiffed blind on final payment prompting pif to respond with some fun gif version of this tapping your temple template
sir and or if other adjacent liv 54 participants,
please welcome our sincerest apologies while granting us all appropriate international freedoms and permissions to surprisingly wisk you off executing a fully escorted fun filled weekend toward your nearest embasy suites dream hotel banking location and allow our head teller to personally hand you a freshly cut and inked severance cheque

i feel bad for posters like Shifty who got emotionally invested in this fly-by-night operation and seemed to genuinely watch the broadcasts... know which golfers were on which team, the current team standings throughout the year, etc.
i say the PGAT should take the stance: "fk em all" (except for Brybaby who should be fast tracked right away into PGAT tournaments)
also agree w lozen that Rahm is a twit who deserves no special treatment
Full throttle - lol
Hope all the players get equally harsh and punitive re-admission requirements to the tour.
Y'all some miserable ass people.
as miserable as Shitty86?

Huh? I do for the PGAT as well. More golf is better imo, but companies fail everyday, if LIV is one of those I lose no sleep over it. The same way I lost no sleep about what players were leaving the PGAT, unlike some people itt.
PGAT players were getting screwed, especially compared to other athletes. Thanks to LIV PGAT players are making way more money.
Hope all the players get equally harsh and punitive re-admission requirements to the tour.
Of course there should be some form of remedy for tour pros who did not get sucked into LIV. At the same time tour leadership needs to consider marketing the best possible product for the best possible value for fans, which should generate more downstream revenue and make the tour and pro game stronger.
It needs to be said that many tour players have already benefited by the sheer existence of LIV, and the resulting increase in PGAT purses and other earning streams.
I predict the tour will balance all of the above, and get the best product out there. Already Rolapp has hinted removing the no-cut 65 player fields that were basically a shotgun reaction to possible loss of players to LIV.
I'll say this about Shifty...he wasn't as mask off pro LIV as I remembered him being but he was clearly doing a lot of wishcasting ITT. A lot of players were coming next week, next month, next season and never did.
TBF it was a fluid situation for a while though. But really for the last ~2 years (??) feels like the handwriting has been on the wall
5 of the top 10 in PIP last season are now with LIV and more to follow after the FedEx cup. Too little too late I guess for the PGA tour. The LPGA officials and players seem a lot more open and positive towards a LIV merger.
The PGA gave him 3M last year for coming 10th in the PIP rankings.
The goal posts keep shifting for you people, 5 out of the 10 most popular players from the PGA tour last year are now LIV. After the playoffs and Presidents Cup Smith, Scott, Leishman, Hedeki and probably a few more names will be going as well.
Certainty didn't see Cameron Young joining LIV. Going to be interesting see the wave of players going after the playoffs. Almost starting to feel bad for the PGA.
lol Norman somehow looks worse 5 years on from this debacle then he did at the beginning. Just an absolute asshat
7 more players announcing for Boston after the fed ex playoffs.
Smith, Scott, Leishman, Hedeki, Cam Young and who else?
I'm guessing Holvand and Keegan Bradley
The "future of golf" is everyone forgetting about Cam Smith. He may as well be retiring.
DJ, Brooks, Bryson, all huge names before they went to Liv. Now it's as if they retired from competitive golf. How is Brooks playing? Is he winning? No one knows. No one cares.
Bolded is accurate
I've had a few friends and co-workers that are big sports fans but only casual golf fans, will watch majors and when Tiger plays. They watched on Sunday and loved the shotgun finish with all the leaders finishing at the same time. They said it was like other sports with the clock running down with lots of actions and exciting
LOL
Lol well ya, rumours were swirling and it's fun to speculate, kind of like the trade deadline in other leagues.
It's also fun to troll and argue on the internet. Doesn't mean I was some LIV only superfan, people itt took it personal when players left and were hateful. The PGAT and a bunch of their players acted like spoiled brats when it happened.
Yeah that last statement is definitely hilarious. I don't know anyone who has actually watched LIV. He probably knows one coworker who happened to catch a tournament or two. Most tournaments are on at horrible times for North Americans.
When trolling becomes your only bit, it loses its luster particularly for everyone who reads it.

I don't disagree with any of this, the Tour is not going to take it as hard on the returning players as I'd like them to and they are going to make the best possible product available. That does mean getting in particular Rahm, Bryson, and Hatton back into PGA Tour fields. I genuinely feel almost every other LIV player is forgettable and they can be made to re-qualify through other measures.
Competition in markets is good, but LIV was never a viable business model. It's just too good of an opportunity to not parade Rahm and Bryson around in the village square and pelt them with tomatoes.
