I saw that the responses on twitter were about what you’d expect.

At the end of Rice's latest video he states that poker is now a really good way to make solid money, but not riches like it was before. He reports that in years gone by it was possible to make way more than you could doing anything else and one could make enough to retire within 5 years.

Hilarious the definition Rice likely has for the following:

Solid Money: Well under $10 per hour (consisting entirely of comps/promos)

Riches: ~$15 per hour (combined hourly win rate with comps/promos)

Enough to early retire after just 5 years: 200k invested wisely combined with the Nomadic Methodology and above all else, a dedication to being remarkably frugal

I find it really odd that rice failed in his goal to spend less than $200/month on food. His brand is built on cheap ass, i.e. white rice + canned tomato chunks and tuna, lifestyle. WTF?

that's $6.67/day. Got me to thinking.

My average home cooked meal is a airfryer roasted pork chop/chicken quarter with a side of premade mashed potatoes, sweet corn, and canned cranberry.

I usually get the chops/bird on sale for around $1.25/lb. 1 lb of mashed spuds is $3, the cranberry is like a buck on sale, corn likewise. So all in that's a very satisfying dinner for under $3.

Every so often I'll cook up a big batch of chicken with tomato sauce, which is good for 1-2 weeks of meals. Prob under $2/meal.

In my hood, a burger, fries, and a beer at a pub will run you $30 with tip. BUT, I've learned how to make even better burgers at home, but sometimes you just want to have a bunch of beers and a burger without having to work or reek your kitchen. So maybe $50 for a couple restaurant nights a month. Life is short!

Add $10-20 for 1-2 chipotle burritos, which are good for 1-2 leftover meals. For someone who shops at winco/safeway, hes surely aware of the cheap fried chicken deals. I can get an eight piece on Monday for $6 that'l easily last multiple meals, combined with the previously mentions tub of taters and the leftover corn.

$70 on 4 nights of splurge food. $90 with chipotle, 6 nights total potential meals. That gives you $4.58/day for the remaining 24 days. I only eat two meals a day, so figure a pork chop dinner + left over tomato sauce, or a ham sammich, etc.

You need to follow the Nomadic Method to get more backers.

First thing is you need a Frontier pass and then rack up the Frontier miles and get a credit card with free lounge access then collect snacks at the free airport lounges.

Then you need Diamond tier for 2025.

Rice views comps as income so he would view used comps as expenditure. If he uses casino dollars for 1 or 2 meals per week it's easy to see how his food total could go over $200 for the month.

As cheap and miserly as you seem with your food budget it's unlikely that you have perfected it to such a fine art as Rice has.

Rice actually does quite a lot with all the moving around, scavenging for food, practicing holding up fingers, perfecting the art of simultaneously looking smug and gormless, filming videos, editing videos, posting on YouTube and replying to comments. Occasionally playing poker. All of this stuff combined will take up quite a lot of hours and energy. It just has the classic rice trait of being horribly inefficient

Well that backlog of old trooper archived footage isn't going to watch itself. Ditto for all the King of Queens and Friends reruns.

i bet year end wawa binges are responsible for killing rice's $200/mo goal. Doesn't take many at $6 each to add up!

These cautionary tales become the way they are because they barricade themselves in echo chambers where everyone is slapping them in the back and telling them how amazing they are. Anyone who tells them how it really is gets disregarded as miserable losers and haterz

Nomadic travelers long term should try to book one of the rooms at Vdara on a weeknight which some of the rooms have a free laundry washing machine and dryer. Plus no slots at Vdara which Nomads try to avoid slot machines.

Nomads can make a good hourly wage just cleaning up the loose abandoned credits on slot machines from casino to casino. And with much lower volatility than being a comp/promo hustler paying rent at the poker table while waiting for Aces.

Read the responses on Twitter/X/Nonsense and it’s a bunch of pushback. Like get your **** together and stop scamming for money.

He got ratioed into oblivion and still thinks people are haters.

Imagine just turning 30 with no job, dad buys your condo and pays your bills, no desire to grind poker and expects random people to fund his tourney entries. It’s laughable.

Makes Diesel look like a go getter.

Maybe we need legal analysis from ELD but I would not recommended this for high level Nomads since the tier level is needed for Nomads and some legal problems with recycling the leftover credits of other players and it is better to just start at a machine with one's own money to avoid possible ban and one must use his own players card and money to earn tier at the slots. Also it is better to redeem Mykonami freeplay for $25 with zero risk.

What a waste of my time watching today's video.
Rice gives us a bunch of meaningless numbers and protects the only meaningful number (YouTube income) for his patreon crazies.
