Nacho Barbero uses GTO Wizard while playing on ACR
He foolishly posts to social media:
He later claims he didn't know using GTO wizard while playing was against the rules.
Surely they have measures in place to stop people using mainstream RTA whilst in games?
What a terrible look for ACR, one of their ambassadors is advertising their flagship tournament whilst potentially cheating in it.
The tweet from ACR defending it is hilarious.
Imagine finding out some guy who’s real name is Nacho using RTA against you, I would flip my lid
But in all seriousness though, he should have to undergo the same treatment as anyone else. ACR has also really just done a terrible job when it comes to PR
Damn. Argentines are really good at getting away scot-free. I can barely believe ACR's response was "well you know if you played against Nacho he's a crazy guy who makes lots of jokes and a fun guy to have around, he didn't do it to gain an advantage". He's a seasoned pro with WSOP bracelets, not a rec goofing around with solvers. Comedy gold.

It's also sad going through the transaction feedback thread in the marketplace forum, and seeing the sheer amount of Argie horses that just go rogue.
The prevailing mantra is that to cheat someone is to be smart, anyone that plays straight is actually an idiot that will get ran over.
Of course there are honorable people in Argentina, among which I'd like to place myself in, Messi in a way is such an example, probably never touched drugs and played fairly because he learned where that took Maradona, Diego died for our sins.
But in any case, any Argentinian that does things right and progresses ends up moving anyways (see Messi in Miami) and stops being a pure Argie , so it's a no true scotsman situation that every argie is a cheat.
So unfortunately I would not recommend doing business with us, the minister of Economy is a straight up scammer, don't even buy our bonds, unless you know it's a scam and you are confident you have the upper hand in the ponzi ladder.
Sucks for Arg I guess, but I'm pretty sure there's a niche as a business partner for when Americans need to look the other way, which is often.
Non-story.
Get a life
This is not how would anyone serious cheat.
But terrible PR for ACR. They should fire him immediately.

I'm skeptical of any countermeasures that scan your computer. Do any poker sites have these?

Not an expert on this topic but I believe the system that most sites use relies on a mix of measuring player statistics - looking out for repetitive or out of the ordinary gameplay, and winrates. It’s basically the same method people use to independently track suspected RTA accounts
I dont think any sites have anything that scans for GTOw AFAIK
man ACR tilts the everloving fk out of me. Why do online poker sites always throughout history have to be the most unbelievably poorly managed companies, UB/FT/Stars/ACR/GG and probably at least 5 more pre BF
I'm skeptical of any countermeasures that scan your computer. Do any poker sites have these?
Pokerstars scans running processes. If you have pokerstove in the background you get a warning.
However since gtowizard runs in the browser, pokerstars cannot detect that, barring some extreme technological investment or privacy risks, like screenshotting or network scanning.

Yeah this is a good take. Doesn’t look so serious (unlikely to be prolific) to me, but clearly the guy is in the wrong here and needs to be fired. Two possibilities most likely imo, either he was casually trying cheating, or his story is legit.
So ACR Basically sweeps this under the rug like its no big deal? Wouldnt them punishing him be much more reassuring to the poker community? They basically are telling Nacho he has free range to use GTO Wizard , because youve already been caught once and nothing happened.
WHO WOULD WANT TO PLAY ON A SITE WHERE OTHER PLAYERS ARE CHEATING AND HAVE AN UNFAIR ADVANTAGE and nothing is done?
And how much of a fool do you have to be to think that when they defend cheating of this type you should believe their games are honest.
Lmao if you play on ACR in 2025 and you’re not cheating, sponsored to play there, or an autistic poker savant, you’re an idiot.
America just elected a President convicted on 34 felony counts. Do you think anyone will care that some clown named Nacho cheated on a poker site?

And as for Messi, everyone still loves him despite this...
Lionel Messi and his father Jorge were convicted of tax fraud in Spain for failing to pay €4.17 million in taxes between 2007 and 2009. The charges were related to income from image rights.
Investigation
Messi was first investigated in 2013. The investigation was part of a larger crackdown on tax fraud involving other high-profile Spanish footballers.
Trial
Messi and his father were convicted in 2016.
Messi's lawyers argued that he delegated tax matters to his father, who relied on advisors.
The Supreme Court did not believe that the Messis were unaware of their tax obligations.
Sentence
Messi was sentenced to 21 months in prison and ordered to pay a fine of €2 million.
However, he did not serve any jail time after exchanging his sentence for a fine of €250,000.
His father's 15-month sentence was replaced with a €180,000 fine.
Tax havens
The Messis were found guilty of using tax havens in Belize and Uruguay to conceal earnings.

The idea of gaining an advantage by unlawful means not only isn't frowned upon but also celebrated. One huge trait of the Argentinian society.
Argentina should be a superpower, yet you guys have almost half the country living under poverty.
Wish you luck with the current government.
Sad when cheating is so commonplace that even when people are caught dead to rights no one cares. Coming from ACR this isn’t that surprising that place had the worst ****ing security/anti bot/collusion practices id ever seen.
I've said it before and I'll say it again.
All online is or is ever gonna be at this point is a question of who has the best technology and who cheats the best. That's it. Anyone who thinks otherwise is naive at best.
The fact a big site like ACR tolerates it let alone laughs at it tells you all you need to know.
thats the shitty thing about playing .25 and up
you dont know who's using solvers or whatever real time across the pc

While I would be willing to agree with the only possible outcome of this incident (which will 100% result in a conclusion that no cheating occured), this raises a serious concern about the game integrity online. Poker (esp online) is dying fast af and the morons running ACR are willing to additionally ruin the already decaying game with such an unprofessional and foolish... statement?
Saw that pads (Patrick Leonard) has also come out with a statement regarding this situation which is 10x more respectable than ACR's chilidshly pathetic tweet.

While pads seems like an honest person and generally one of the nicer guys in poker, it's a conflict of interests to have an ACR ambassador investigate an incident where another ACR ambassador is at fault. None of the parties involved (ACR, Nacho, Pads) has any interest in determining anything malicious took place. While in this particular case I might agree with such a result, it sets an incredibly wrong precedent of letting players get away with something that is clearly wrong.
I do not care if cheating actually took place and HHs match with any GTOw logs/timestamps, any decision other than suspending Nacho for this incident would mean that online poker providers do not GAF about their ambassadors breaking the rules of the site that they represent. This will consequently raise a question whether ACR cares about protecting the game integrity at all.
well the investigation was off to a shaky start when he tweeted something like "obviously all of nachos friends (including me) will defend nacho and the haters gonna hate. this is on gto wizard"
You would at least use 2 monitors not play tables that cover the sim. When using gotwizard you need to click throw the sim for every solution make it very slow and limiting you to one table. RTA programs read live action on the tables and just spit out solution for exact spot automatically.
