New fast food discussion/review thread

OK OOT, it's been a while since we had a devoted fast food thread around here and I think it's time we had a new one.

Wonder how widespread Culver's is. Their burgers are second to none!

Maybe it is just because I don't have In and Out near me, but I feel like InO is better

Culvers def very good and they have a few standout items that can be treats. Specifically cheese curds and custard. When done right that custard is absurd good.

Worth noting that Culvers does have constant old school coupons going out, like BOGO burgers and stuff like that. Those are legit deals.

Culver's started in Wisconsin, right? So, it's moving West not East? I can remember when the 1st one opened in Az (North Phoenix). My Chicago buddy made me go with him. Must have been around 2010.

Having just done the Az -> Mt -> Az yearly roadtrip, I recall seeing a few in Ut and Id along the way.

Yes, WI. Sauk City, IIRC.

Walked past our local KFC/A&W place today. They had a placard out front advertising their new Cap'n Crunch milkshake.

I'm not much of a sweets person, but that doesn't sound good.

One of you guys should do research, for science. Not it!

Since '84 I was out there gettin' my McDo
In the Sco the O (lympics) and Valley Jo

easy to imagine natives of Sauk City Wisconsin with prominent jaw lines chiseled from years of saying the name of their village with that accent
guessing also more prone to have a strong trapezoidal neck

As a spicy food fan, I decided Burger King's Fiery Bundle was worth investigating. BK is offering a LTO Fiery lineup of 5 items, with 5 levels of heat: Fiery Strawberry Sprite (1, least spicy), Fiery Mozzarella Sticks (2), Fiery Royal Crispy Chicken (3, I assume this is their normal spicy chicken + bacon and cheese), Fiery Chicken Fries (4), and Fiery Bacon Whopper (5, most spicy).

In the app they offered the Fiery Bundle: Fiery Bacon Whopper, 4 piece Fiery Chicken Fries, Small Fiery Strawberry

dear jawhoo,
thank you for the detailed trip report and sacrifice you made delivering the information promised after clicking accept terms and conditions
to be clear we find your choices both endearing and enduring

I've been having periodic cravings for Popeye's which I hadn't had for several months, and they finally offered a $6.99 Big Box that caught my eye. I ordered mine with classic fried leg & thigh. I got to the store, and found the dining area was locked as only two employees were working. I finally got my Big Box and had a real treasure hunt when I got it home.

[ ] Classic leg
[ ] Classic thigh

[X] Classic breast
[X] Classic wing
[X] Spicy thigh

That probably would be a great substitution for most people, but it was extremely disappointing for me.
At least they got the two sides right. And the biscuit.

I'll probably wait until football season starts to try them again. The last time I was in there they must have had at least a half a dozen people working. Cars were piling in behind me yesterday so they certainly aren't hurting for business.

Optimize this order for value. You want to spend $10 and have a drink.

You can choose between these:
$5 Meal deal - Whopper Jr, 4 nuggets, value fries, value drink
$5 Duo - 2 Whopper Jr's

and use one of these app deals:
2 Free Large Fries
1 Free kids meal (Whopper Jr w/cheese, value fries, value drink, cookie)

I did this

Spoiler
Show

I bought two $5 Duo's and the free kids meal. But then I get ripped on fries/nuggets.

$5 duo
2 free large fries (one fry / one rings)
Pay a la carte for drink

That plan gets you 1 free fry and no rings. But I like the thinking!

Arby's fans, take note. Got a notice in e-mail:

Arby's Chardonneigh Horsey Sauce - On Sale at 2PM EST

I had to look.

Arby’s Chardonneigh Horsey Sauce strikes the perfect balance between refined taste and unbridled spirit. And it can be yours, for a limited time. Available at 2PM EST.

Seriously thought I was flashing back to 01 April...

then if its 1 free fry then go halvsies fries/rings and ask for a zesty sauce packet.

Filled out the MCD survey. I have 12k points to burn though.

Free big Mac time! Or would you rather get four McChickens, over four visits?

Get 2 Big Macs over two visits imho

I see McChickens are only 1500 pts in my app. So conceivably you could get 8 of them. That may be the play professor, tight but McAggressive. That's your style. And I do mean McAggressive

would have suggested 'perfect balance between equined taste and unbridled spirit'
either way some maverick ad writer went home happy that night because they bucked the trend and their stretch pitch went to production

speaking of which, these are great

As a pork BBQ aficionado it always embarrasses me to say it, but I do as well. What a wonderful guilty pleasure those things were!

I almost ordered Popeye's from UberEats today, $5 off min $20.
BOGO 6 pc boneless or bone in wings
Classic Chicken Sandwich combo meal w cajun fries
and an apple pie to reach $20

I saw a few reviews for their boneless wings and even though it's 6pc they give you like 10~ usually. So yeah woulda been a LOT of food.

Dinner time is ramen time!

I love that privacy! Almost like a library carrel.

just a lil peek
