It seems like there's a lot of conflict and unhappiness in the world these days. It gets me down. One of the few things

The look of... Do you have any idea how much I'm gonna eat when I grow up?
Enjoy the cute puppy phase.

Tyty.
This will be our 3rd Rottie. We're very, very excited - though 2 is going to be a handful. There was a little overlap with the previous one 6 years ago, but she was sick at the time and not super active.
Our current:

If anyone has good girl names - let us know. We've gone with city names starting with "B" for the last two - Berkeley and Bandon - but are having trouble this time around.
Oh, man!
Bixby
Blythe
Boca
Bijou
Or move to "C" 😉

Brea?
Bubba, of course. Ask Tom, he'll agree that's a girl's name, I'm sure.
i saw her picture, she told you her name
just call her Babe and move on
if you somehow still need justification, this little town in Portugal has existed since medieval times

city names other than Bixby or Brea (which imo are really good) could be Brooklyn, Boulder, or Bozeman....anything but Buffalo
i've also met dogs named Bianca and Beyonce
whatever you name her, you are now - at a minimum - obligated to share weekly pics for her first year.
so much fun watching them grow into their legs
All great suggestions which I ran by her. Thank you. I also suggested Brooke, and Barrett - and she likes Barrett. I like that we can shorten it to Bear - and also that it's a big ass gun lmao. I don't love it love it - which is why I'm still soliciting suggestions - but it's the leader in the clubhouse.
I really can't wait to go pick her up next weekend. Counting down the days.
How does Astro feel about blow dryers?
I kinda regret having 2 animals with names that start and end with the same sound. When one gets a stern talking to they both think they're in trouble, lol. Lucy/Lily. I did not pick either of those names.

My solution would be to rarely/never give them a stern talking to and simply spoil them rotten.

That's brutal. I would have to change one of the names--unless there was some compelling reason (ie, objection from somebody) not to do so.
I thought it was static electricity and was anticipating epic anecdotes about him sticking to various objects when he got inside or lighting up like sparklers on the 4th!
Nope, it is snow on him from playing outside during a steady snowfall.
As to "him sticking to various objects," the only thing he sticks to is our side. He always wants to be in close proximity to my wife or me (or my daughters when they are over).

Sounds good in theory.

I think they're probably both too old and know their names too well now to take that route, although I do call the dog Dummy more often than Lucy, lol.

I'd wager that a fistful of small treats spread in a timely fashion over several days would get almost any old dog to adopt an alias 😉
eta: The lady who we were working with when we adopted our rescue tried to persuade us not to confuse the dog by giving him a name we chose even though: he had only been assigned their preferred name when he was taken to a vet by strangers and the vet was transferring him to the rescue agency. But we were going to technically foster him prior to adoption. In other words, he had never really been called by their assigned name. Who knows what name he had previously. It took all I had to be nice to the rescue lady. Mosby was responding to his new name in less than 48 hours. The only problem was getting the vet's office to eventually get his name correct. Dogs really are smarter than people.

It's a really good point given how much we have to loudly calm down our current pup. She's wonderful, but gets very, VERY agitated by the television. Any animal on the TV and she's up barking, spinning, and generally pissed. People moving strangely (think horror movies), ball kids in tennis, kickoffs in football, dogs walking by the house - all triggers that get her loud and angry.
What a hairball!
