All Things can be Conjoined.

RIP Oliver

He's been on a noticeable downhill slide for the past 6-8 weeks. He had been spending more of his down time in spots that he didn't previously frequent and was showing general signs of his 18 years spent outdoors except for coming inside occasionally due to harsh weather. He missed two consecutive meals and just laid down. Loading him into a carrier and taking him to the vet was met with no resistance. That was the diagnostic confirmation that it was time.

Apologies for having posted some of these pics previously.

A young Oliver lands in his first major predicament:

A slightly older Oliver destroys a child's labor of finding enough snow for this creation:

A young and ambitious Oliver has plans to turn the tables on a couple of buzzards dining on roadkill armadillo:

An older and wiser Oliver watches from the porch as his pal Scrawny checks out a king snake:

I took this shot and a few others last week to send to my son (Oliver's original owner) as I knew his career was winding down:

Five days ago Oliver still had his appetite for hot drippings from my dinner:

Sorry to hear, Tom. Even when you know it's coming and he had a great and full life, it's never easy. Thanks for being a good human for him.

so sorry for your loss Tom......but what a run for Oliver!!!

Sounds like that cat really lived a life.

Sorry Tom. Thanks for sharing those stories and pictures, and for taking such good care of Oliver.

Thanks, guys!
My morning routine sure felt out of kilter today.

So sorry, Tom. Our animals are everything.

No one was ever able to tell Althea what to do... She was wise, grounded & knew how to settle back easy.

The original Beagle - Jack Straw, not to be confused with August West.

The front lawn is old-man manicured and near pristine... the back yard is Beagle controlled - excepting for MrsSaint's all along the perimeter flower beds.

Summertime, and the livin’s easy.

He didn't even land his rear end on the mattress this time. LOL!

But I do admit that he looks comfortable.

the dog in me would also choose summer naps on fluffy clover over some pillow

caught easily nested amist reno prep fully knowing concrete basements are foundationaly cool places to summerly inhabitate around equinox

Having endured 2 surgeries to remove 3 tumors (all benign or low-grade) in the last 8 months, Roger (my current nickname for him) enjoys the first of many well deserved pontoon rides.

So Roger and I share the same enthusiasm for pontoon travel.

Hang in there, bud! Maybe they'll put you in something with some zip the next time out! You're looking good. You just need the perfect environment!

Seriously--looking good, Roger!
