President Donald Trump

President Donald Trump

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at

I re-quoted what he said about tariffs below. He is saying US consumers paid the tariffs which implies nobody else is, which is wrong. Companies building products in another country that exports to the US are also paying for part of the tariffs as well. US companies are also paying for part of the tariff as well because they aren’t passing 100% of the extra costs they incur to

How in the world would it be reasonable for Trump to think that the election was rigged?

Trump apparently watched Dinesh D'Souza's documentary 2000 Mules.

by bahbahmickey

LOL said trump thinks he won the election. Your claim that trump thinks the election was rigged is very different than thinking he won. It is reasonable for trump to think the election was rigged, but to think he won is dumb.

I didn't say Trump thinks he won the election; I said Trump knows he lost the election and he knows there wasn't any widespread (i.e., enough to sway an election) fraud. There are plenty of signs and Freudian slips that give it away.

Do you think Elon rigged the 2024 election, as the girl he was dating at the time claims based on the things he told her? Is that reasonable (considering her claims and the suspicious comments both Elon and Trump made) or nah?

He was right to pardon the jan 6th morons. The fact that we prosecuted less than 1% of people who were involved in political violence in that 12-24 month period and they all happened to be from the same party is beyond comprehension. Either we prosecute all the 1/6ers, the BLM rioters and the people who went to the supreme court justices houses to try to intimidate them or we p

He pardoned 1/6ers and is now giving them large amounts of money so that he has civil soldiers on the ground when the time comes.

Oddly enough, the only rioters who are still in prison for crimes committed during riots are BLM rioters; all 1/6 rioters have been set free and several have been arrested for new crimes and a few of them have molested kids after Trump pardoned them. But you're okay with this because of whaddabout bullshit you've been told on Fox News.

I agree 100% he is clearly a narcissist as are many leaders. I would put Justin Trudeau and Gavin Newsom in those categories as well Many powerful folks are

Anyone who wants to be the leader of a country has to be narcissist; however, a narcissist and a malignant narcissist are two very different things which you don't seem to understand.

I agree regarding Powell and Lindell, but it seems like you don't understand that Trump is ALSO a mentally ill quack. I mean, just read any random "Truth" of his, and you may quickly realize your error.I think there are two pretty cleanly delineated groups within the Trump universe of true believer morons and canny operators. Donald and his family are in the former group, the

I have made no error.

Trump obviously suffers from myriad psychological disorders, but he’s not ******ed.

He knows exactly what he’s doing when he does things like…..

(a) Tells Leslie Stahl that the reason he constantly attacks the media is so that when they publish true stories about how awful he is, he can say they’re all lies and fake news.

(b) Tells Ukraine’s Zelensky to just say they’re investigating HunterBiden, and that he and the GOP propaganda machine will do the rest.

(c) Claims he didn’t **** StormyDaniels, but paid her over $100k anyway.

The examples are endless. It’s not about truth, it’s about what Trump can get his ******ed followers to believe. And given their level of ******ation, they’ll believe almost anything.

by TheBigEasy

It’s more than just all the court cases he lost.

Sydney Powell is a ****ing nutjob. So is Mike Lindell. These are not serious people. They’re quacks who are very likely mentally ill. If those kinds of people are on your side, you’re ****ed. .

Trump ended up with people like Sydney Powell on his team because real lawyers didn't want to be anywhere near his election lies. There can be serious consequences for lawyers who behave like Sydney Powell (as Sydney Powell herself learned the hard way).

When Trump started up with all his election bullshit, I told everyone that I would take his claims more seriously the moment that the real stars of the GOP bar started putting their own reputations on the line. That never happened. Instead, we got a parade of nutjobs like Sydney Powell, Lin Wood, Rudy, etc.

‘Face The Nation’ host John Dickerson tried to get Trump to muse on former George W Bush’s comment on how the Oval Office was round and therefore had no corners to hide in – meaning accountability always sat firmly at the President’s lap.

However, Trump failed to spot the metaphor and took it just a bit too literally. He said: “Well, there’s truth to that. There is truth to that. There are certainly no corners. And you look, there’s a certain openness. But there’s nobody out there. You know, there is an openness, but I’ve never seen anybody out there actually, as you could imagine.”

Trump is absolutely ****ing ******ed as is evident from hearing him speak for 30 seconds. Even watching back interviews with him from 25+ years ago it is readily apparent that he is an exceptionally stupid person. He certainly hasn't got any smarter since then, or probably since he was 9.

When Trump rambles on nonsensically like that, it's because he's a ****ing bullshitter, not because he's ******ed.

He does it often, about many different things. He has spent his entire life babbling and babbling and babbling about stuff until people think he's competent. In doesn't matter the subject, Trump will talk about it (unless it embarrasses him, then he'll claim to know nothing about it). He's the epitome of "fake it until you make it."

He doesn't have any real skills, other than (as David Frum astutely pointed out a decade ago), "A bully's ability to spot his opponent's psychic weakness. Like calling Jeb Bush 'Low Energy', for example."

And 70 million people chose this guy, when all of this is obvious and known to anyone paying attention. Morons. America is so ****ed.

This Amelia Bedelia-ass President makes George W. Bush look like the most brilliant scholar on Earth. Donald Trump is extraordinarily, profoundly, remarkably stupid.

I didn't care for George W Bush, but he painted portraits of soldiers wounded in battle. He was a human.

He's worlds better than Trump could ever be. Trump is subhuman garbage.

Trump is no genius, but sheer lack of intelligence isn't the main reason why his presidency has been a disaster. Imagine that someone approximately as intelligent as Trump, but far less narcissistic and far more decent, than Trump, was thrust into the presidency. How would that person behave? In all likelihood, that person would surround himself or herself with highly experienced people, lean heavily on the advice of those people, and would avoid courting unnecessary crises. That sort of president wouldn't be likely to change the country or the world for the better. But he or she wouldn't be likely to be an unmitigated disaster either.

Sam Harris made this exact point some ten or so years ago when he argued he’d prefer a random person off the street to Trump, because that person would likely behave as you described; instead of using the powers of government as tools to settle his petty personal vendettas, as Trump clearly would do and is doing.

I agree.

In 1988, Dennis Prager said he'd rather vote for a random name out of the phone book than vote for George H. W. Bush.

Bush killed millions. Trump needs to win a few more terms to come close to those numbers. In fact he still has a lot work to do to reach Biden.

But liberals love to launder the image of conservative mass murderers.

When did Biden or his administration kill anyone?

Just far left sloganeering, nothing to worry about.

I’m curious what you guys consider to be killing, because if indirect deaths from policy is killing then obviously Trump beats Biden by a mile with his USAID cuts

Lol jfc. Famous force for good USAID.

Can't wait to get my hands on the new $250 bill:

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Thursday that his agency had been working on a mock-up of a $250 note bearing the face of President Trump in preparation for an addition to the nation’s paper currency that would for the first time include the portrait of a living president.

The push to create a new note on the fly has stirred controversy within the bureau, which is part of the Treasury Department, and coincided with the abrupt reassignment last month of its former director, Patricia Solimene. In a note to staff that was reviewed by The New York Times, Ms. Solimene wrote that her move to another part of Treasury was not her choice.

by campfirewest

Is this a new bill I never knew you had a $250 bill ?

Are you just a ****ing idiot?

But remember folks, back of the napkin calculations from a letter to the editor in Lancet are unimpeachably true but an actual peer-reviewed article from the same source is bullshit.

Victor’s source criticism is literally just him vibing out to whatever sounds right to him.

ya man, I didnt need the Lancelet to tell me that the death toll in Gaza from the genocidal Jewish Supremacist onslaught was far beyond what was recorded and reported.
