President Donald Trump

President Donald Trump

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at

States run elections and set their own election rules. That’s why all the litigation and legislation you see about voter ID is on a state level. There is no authority for president to tell them how to do so.

Least powerful executive branch ever tho

Edit - when Lucy agrees this is too far, you’re in trouble! Although as usual he messed up an important fact conflating the ability to register with the documentation needed on voting day.

yeah, whatever happened to all that "states should decide" gibberish trump is always spouting about

It's really pointless to point out the asymmetry of Republican hypocrisy. They will say freedom of speech one day, and literally the next, call out for censorship of media. They don't give two shts about their constant hypocrisy, but they hope we get distracted by it.

The trap the democrats need to avoid falling in to, is saying they need to function like Republicans, because Republicans have no scruples about what they do to achieve their ends. I see this sentiment online a lot. "We're in unprecedented territory, you need to fight fire w/ fire, etc.. "

No... The democrats need to remain the adults in the room, and hold their own accountable, and call out corruption. Democrats need to be the model of effective, and accountable governance. We don't need two symmetrical parties. Especially not now.

And as far as this whole classified fk up, the last person we want fired out of all of this is likely going to take the fall. About the closest thing to an adult among all these pond scum is Mike Waltz. Tulsi and Pete should be the first to go in this, but they won't be.

Once they force Waltz resignation, they are just going to bring in someone worse unfortunately.

NEW BOMBSHELL REPORTING FROM DER SPIEGEL

Mobile numbers, email addresses and even some passwords belonging to top Trump officials including Mike Waltz, Pete Hegseth, and Tulsi Gabbard have been found online, revealing an additional grave, previously unknown security breach at the highest levels

Wtf if this is true. I hope it's less serious than it sounds. I guess more details will follow.

Where are all the usual trumpers?
unusually calm this week.

I hope it's so serious it brings down the presidency.

Fat chance.

bring down the presidency, appoint a king!

JD Vance appears to be the only one in the chat with a brain, which is interesting

say what you will about him, but his intellect is undeniable

Retreated to 4chan, to convince each other the spin is true?

by coordi k

Also praying before and invoking god after bombing children to get one guy for some PR is just about what I expect from modern "christians"

or old ones. ever read Voltaire? he levied similar criticism to his contemporaries

i'd like to see how ol' donny wriggles his way out of this jam...

The administration is clearly rattled by this. Their messaging has been a bit frantic and disjointed.

The trumpers are just waiting for an official lane to be picked so they can proceed with their marching orders.

Shout out to the few rightys here who have acknowledged that this is a real issue

Hes already free and clear.

"I'm not aware of this, you said what happened?"

it has been an unusually weak week for the news cycle (nothing is happening other than this embarrassing leak) , they are just waiting for this to pass it because there is no positive spin to this.

The administration has been fabricating news this entire time.

The reality is their deflection and spin isn't working in this instance and its making the story linger. If you look on r/conservative, where they historically hand wave literally anything and immediately latch to the prevalent messaging, there is actual pushback and top level comments calling for accountability.

I think this is one instance where they would have been better served to acknowledge the **** up but then down play it instead of trying to piss into the wind

Wtf if this is true. I hope it

Well, if they used private phones, this is problematic. A compromised phone makes the security of the app irrelevant. An average phone user's security awareness makes them an open door for a targeted attack, and these guys seem below average. Most people don't have to worry about targeted attacks, but people in these positions do.

My (jokingly) proposed theory of a foreign intelligence officer being very angry at these guys for stupidly including a journalist in their group-chat and thus putting a stop to his goldmine of intelligence is starting to ring more true by the minute.

We don't know for certain if they used Signal on their private phones, but the article states that Tulsi Gabbard "declined to comment" on this issue. That does not inspire confidence after her rather embarrassing flip-flops and likely perjury in congress.

r/conservative had meaningful internal debates both during the H1B visa issue, and for the whole tariff issue tbh.

there are also debates about doge efforts being definitely insufficient to ever fix the deficit (while the vast majority still agrees on them for various reasons anyway ofc).

I know the feeling from your side is that that isn't the case but it actually is.

this is the first unforced error with no positive way to be spinned because this wasn't a policy choice no matter how controversial, this was just a very vanilla very embarrassing **** up

r/conservative is absolutely wild to read. It is quite bad how blatant they are with deleting comments and disallowing other people without the conservative tag to post.

They only allow other "non-flaired" members to discuss/debate in specific threads and only very occasionally.

Well, when you get your info from places like https://www.oann.com/ (the "news" channel Trump called “very popular and wonderful”😉 - where the leaks aren't even mentioned once, and the hot topics are Disney's new Snow White, and some garbage about Obama and Soros.

.

I hope you can acknowledge they still censor far less than your typical leftist subreddit and it's not even vaguely close.

it's basically autoban to defend any non leftist position in all the major leftist subreddits

They have meaningful debates until the marching orders come down and the mods start removing dissent under pretext of stopping "brigading".

I remember during the net neutrality debate, r/conservative was heavily favoring net neutrality in the comment sections. 24 hours later it was pretty all removed and the entire subreddit looked like an Ajit Pai fanclub.

I don't agree with the extent of your statement, but I will say it is true that other subreddits and ones that I would also call "leftist" do delete comments and ban users as well.

I don't believe these (at least the ones I am aware of) other subreddits disallow others to post unless they have a "flair" like r/conservative does. Please, correct me I am wrong with that assertion.

Very interested in the data you have on this!

by coordi k

Every state already requires proof of citizenship to vote. The EO is objectively ******ed and everyone who thinks illegals vote in US elections is ******ed too.

Hope that helps

There are some people who have been shown to have voted illegally in the last several years.

They're mostly Republicans, like this Georgia Republican Party official.

The levels of censorship on conservative are so high that the posters will lament the sub is being brigaded if dissenting opinion even appears in a flaired thread. Mind you, flaired thread means r/conservative regulars only
