on conservative you can be a leftist and interact with a decent amount of posts (not if you order by relevance because those will be flaired only mostly, for the reasons stated).

on leftist reddit (which is like 90% of political reddit) you will be autobanned at your first attempt to defend any non leftist position.

not allowing you to write because you don't deserve a platform isnt censorship. no one has a right to an audience or a platform.

telling you you can write then banning you because they disagree is. it's much more mischievous, manipulative. normies will try to talk and at some point get banned because they disagree with one tenet of the religion

I just found it very funny that when all the investigations were going on after the "stolen" 2020 election, a vast majority of the verified cheaters were Republicans.

Well at the moment 100% of threads in r/conservative are flair only (not just hot, all new threads too). It is admittedly the only time I've ever opened that reddit, and the rules do imply it's not normally a regular thing, but currently it literally isn't letting anyone who hasn't proven themselves by posting conservative views post anything at all, which is tough to beat as far as censorship of opposing views go.

it actually isn't. just telling you to go thr **** away, never letting you in unless you already have proven to be like-minded with the group, is infinitely less censorious than pretending to give you access then kicking you out if you don't follow the leftist bible.

not giving you access isn't censorship. pretending you can talk freely within "normal" rules then actually censoring content is censorship (still private, so I am fine with it), it's a pretext to appear like you allow everyone to speak while you actually don't but those who got banned can't tell others that's the case.

I was specifically asking for an example of a left-leaning subreddit that predominantly only allowed "flaired" users to post on the majority of their threads in such a way as to be similar to the r/conservative subreddit.

The developed world skews left though. It has for generations now.

There's been a recent rightward shift in many countries. But still, and especially if you're discussing this in terms of American right/left, most of the developed world is WAY more left than Americans.

Hence, reddit will skew more left, and other large global platforms. Comments people agree with on reddit, get upvoted and shown more - there's no skewed algorithms (that anyone is aware of). X will not, because its algorithm is intentionally skewed to amplify right-wing content, Trump, and Musk.

It's a bad comparison.

But further, people on the left on reddit are talking about common sense regulation, and things like healthcare access, and protecting social security, etc...

r/conservative is talking about some of the nuttiest conspiratorial gibber-jabber.

Maybe ask yourself why that is, and notice some more of the red flags?

which is a topic that isn't majoritarian in most first world countries, and if you add indians, Pakistani, indonesians, Mexicans, Brazilians and so on (they access internet you know?) would routinely get super majorities against.

yet it's a religion on Reddit, because reddit does NOT represent the "online world" at all, rather a much more radical, to the left, subportion of it.

there are approx as many Indians online as there are Europeans + Americans.

/r/conservative was okayish, then like many online conservative forums it got infested by MAGA ideology and rendered useless.

MAGA as an ideology simply isn't based on freedom of thought or skepticism, it is about accepting what you are told, even if it contradicts what you were told yesterday.

I will caveat that it has been a long while since I used social media at all, but I can't imagine the conservative forums have gotten any better.

in most European countries every single year for the last 20+ years polls said absolute majorities wanted no more immigration. like literally no more at all, like it was already enough completely as it was. that started even at 2% of foreign born residents.
