Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD

2+2 Rules

Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...

These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.

To reiterate some of the points:

1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.

2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.

3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.

4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.

5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.

If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.

Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
I don’t personally really care about Zionism.

I think Israel should exist because it does exist, and has for 80 years.

You're against the establishment of the state of Israel in the first place?

by Luciom k

Same people, indistinguishable from each other, you can't have ethnic cleansing unless a distinct ethnic group deports another.

This couldn’t be more wrong.

You’re completely disregarding where the term Ethnic Cleansing even originates from.

Perhaps you should read about Ustashe & Jasenovac before speaking about something you clearly know nothing about.

Israel was established decades before I was born. I mean, if we want to go back in time to do counterfactuals to change history to make the world a better place today; there would be a long list of things one could change. But it doesn't matter; like everything else it happened and isn't going to be undone.

I mean, I personally think Islam (in practice if not principle) has kind of been a pretty big drag on human progress, as an extremely toxic masculine patriarchal zero sum collectivist ideology which encourages collectivism and tribalism over much better alternatives. And if it had been less successful in spreading modernity might be working out better.

But it happened, and spread to a large part of the world. And billions of people believe God desires the Palestinians to recapture Jerusalem for spiritual reasons, and this supersedes any sane evaluation of what is going on. But it happened, and this is the reality we all have to live with, whether we like it or not.

I think Israel should exist because it does exist, and has for 80 years. If history had turned out differently I would not be arguing the Jewish people today should conquer the Levant and re-establish Israel.

And the rest of the world should get over their grievances and political opportunism and make peace. Or not; and there will be war and the Palestinians will continue to suffer to no productive outcome.

It crazy that this resistance/terrorism has been going on for so long with "no productive outcome". In fact it's been a devastating outcome for them. It will continue to be a devastating outcome. Yet people will continue to support the resistance/terrorism. It's absolutely insane.

they are still in Palestine and not dead. if they gave up armed resistance they would all be slaughtered. just like at Sabra and Shatila.

some posters used to criticize them existing. many were highly critical of Palestinians reproducing.

Most of this post is nonsense. But as far as the last point, they can have all the kids they want. It would just be nice if they would make peace and kick out The Resistance, so they could have a functional economy and pay for their kids themselves. I am not thrilled by tax dollars are footing the bill for Palestinian endless generational Jihad.

Now you might decide Jihad is something you are fine paying for, and want to cut off Israel and Ukraine. Different strokes for differently folks I guess.

According to Israel media, Hamas states they will deliver the list on the conditions of some hostages (the remaining ones included in the first phase) this Friday, and do a release on Wednesday and Saturday as agreed upon.

The Israel govt at this times believes they will follow through, as they understand Israel will not re-open the Netzarim corridor unless they do so. But time will tell I guess.

As a matter of principle, Hamas is cruel and will deliver whatever psychological torment and humiliation they can (hard to blame them, as this behavior is something the local culture respects and admires); but Israel believes at the end of the day they do want the corridor opened, so they will push their cruelty and bad faith until the end but wont jeopardize that happening.

beautiful scenes in Lebanon today. totally sad that the unarmed civilians must pay in blood to return to their land.

Hezbollah demonstrated they are still in control. The Lebanese army said the Israel army had not left (because they hadn't), told the people to wait, but Hezbollah told them to over-run all the barricades and charge the Israel army. And the people did what Hezbollah told them to (most of them were probably just Hezbollah anyways), there were casualties, and here we are.

If anything, I would say the prospects for Lebanon moving forward are worse than before. Obviously no Hezbollah at all would be ideal; but having a weak Hezbollah running the county is going to be worse than a strong one. But at the end of the day the Lebanese people have agency. If a failed state at perpetual war with their neighbors is what they want, then that is what they will get.

you are very aware of the fact that Israel did not commit the Sabra and Shatila massacre. so, this entire premise is disingenuous.

if I hire a hitman, that doesnt mean I am innocent. Israel directed the whole thing.

They killed a two year-old girl in the West Bank on Saturday.

Laila al-Khatib was shot in the head by Israeli forces in Jenin, because I guess they needed one more dead Palestinian kid.

For some strange reason this guy doesn't look as healthy as the IDF released recently:

With respect you're being a bit disingenuous yourself. No the IDF didn't commit the massacre. They knew it was happening though and not only did nothing to stop it, they had a hand in supporting it via providing flares at night and preventing residents from leaving. I fully believe in Israel's right to exist and right to defend itself against Islamist extremist aggression. But they aren't infallible and aren't immune to criticism and the critique against them here is valid, even if vic is a bad faith poster.

Israel existed before we were born. Bro is losing it.

Are you a doctor? No. Guy looks perfectly healthy to me. You might be a worse poster than Victor lol.

“For some strange reason…”

I’m dead

Well, what’re you gonna do when you let propaganda brain wash you into shooting yourself in the foot? Double down on some more propaganda, of course.

Perhaps you should read about Ustashe & Jasenovac before speaking about something you clearly know nothing about.

It's the Cambridge dictionary, but we know people on the left are systemic semantic rapists who make up word and expression definitions then claim they own made up definitions are "the truth"

ethnic cleansing
noun [ U ]
uk /ˌeθ.nɪk ˈklen.zɪŋ/ us /ˌeθ.nɪk ˈklen.zɪŋ/
Add to word list
the organized, often violent attempt by a particular cultural or racial group to completely remove from a country or area all members of a different group

If the same people kill themselves, it's not ethnic cleansing.

The khmer rouge genocides were not ethnic cleansing, because it was khmers killing other khmers ok?

by Victor k

if I hire a hitman, that doesnt mean I am innocent. Israel directed the whole thing.

Israel did not order the massacre, did not pay anyone for it and definitely did not direct the massacre.

Israel did not order the massacre, did not pay anyone for it and definitely did not direct the massacre.

Ariel Sharon was found to be responsible for the massacre by an Israeli investigation, as you well known.

The Christian militia was allowed through the gates of the camps right after their leader was assassinated. It was clear what would happen. The IDF controlled the gates, and provided illumination by flares while listening to hours of shots and screams.

It was calculated. This is on you.

by Victor k

if I hire a hitman, that doesnt mean I am innocent.

You could still end up with a pardon though.
