Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD
Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...
These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.
To reiterate some of the points:
1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.
2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.
3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.
4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.
5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.
If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.
Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
Pw, relax
Seems to be 2 good examples of why there should be no expectation occupation efforts to construct a state should work under current incentive structures.
You're not wrong. This will be extremely difficult, it will take a long time, it will be violent, and there will be major setbacks.
The only other option I see being put forth is either genocide or close enough that it can be called genocide., this is a better option than that.
Fragmenting the West Bank into security zones had a lot to do with this. Between that and the wall, suicide bombing was no longer a viable strategy.
It actually takes a lot of organization, planning and materials to get to the point where you have a suicide bomber from Ramallah willing and able to blow up a bus in Tel Aviv.
it was literally a political decision by Hamas. it also coincided with gaining conventional weapons and building an indigenous weapons program. so they got better options.

Use whatever word you want to describe it. But having most of the Palestinian people move on with their lives somewhere else is the only ethical, workable solution I see. In 2 generations everyone will have moved on and be better off for it.
There are probably 4 billion people in the world that dont live in the same place their great grandparents lived. If the Palestinian people dont either, everything can still work out just fine.
I see no future under the current incentive structure. And Al Jazeera and pro Islamist social media having such a radicalizing effect on everyone has only made a super difficult job impossible. Things only get worse from here.

Yes. The environment and incentive structure changed; and so did strategy and tactics. But the point is fragmenting the West Bank has worked in the short term for Israel in controlling organized violence from this area; and the world demanding Israel stop doing this while offering nothing isn't a particularly persuasive strategy IMO.
I don't think it's feasible for 2 million Palestinians to be moved anywhere. Even if they were I don't think that actually solves the problem. It would destabilize the region even more than it is now.
And that's setting aside the morality of the issue.
If living conditions are made so terrible for them that many want to leave rather than die of malnutrition or disease...
And of course you could relocate the entire population of Israel and Palestine to the US, Canada or Australia, countries with good standards of living and low population densities.
"Blood and soil" problem solved.
Peace in the Middle East seems more likely.
Nuclear war caused by an escalation of aggression in the ME is far more likely.
It won't nuke Israel because it doesn't have nukes yet. But there are such things as tactical nukes held by countries that could be fired as a warning, plus the possibility of an accident, and I think the chances of either of those are much larger than commonly believed, and with uncertain consequences.

I don’t believe nuclear accidents besides Chernobyl like things are even possible anymore. Is Chernobyl possible again?
I'm talking about things like erroneous detection of missiles as has happened before.

Dirty bomb is another risk
Why's he eating at work? I guess murdering people requires a lot of energy.
It's rather obviously not a genuine photo.
Yes I suppose looking at it with a more critical eye now it does look a bit fishy. The account seems genuine enough so I went with it, which might have been a mistake. Apologies if it's fake and any offence was caused.
this one is definitely real. and from the same hospital.
