Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD
Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...
These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.
To reiterate some of the points:
1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.
2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.
3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.
4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.
5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.
If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.
Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
Damn. Israel hit 2 major heavy hitters, including Muhammad Deif, overall commander of the Al-Qassam Brigades. No wonder the fake ragebait bullshit is coming out heavy.
No they hit 100s of people in tents in a safe zone
Incidentally, how many times have they killed Died now?
This is bait. No I will not post the vids bc I know the mod team is hoping I do exactly that.
quiet in here
how come
probably would get banned if I said why
Another day, another few dozen innocents slaughtered, kids with limbs blown off.
What's there to say that hasn't been said a hundred times before?

The IDF claim they 'estimate' that Deif was 'at least injured' (meaning they don't know), and Hamas deny this. The only established facts seem to be that IDF bombing killed at least 71 and injured almost 300 in a tented area in a destroyed city (Khan Younis, site of a massacre by the Israeli army in 1956 during the Suez Crisis) which was a refuge for the de-housed. Of course bad-guy Hamas leaders (and Deif is wanted on an ICC arrest warrant for multiple crimes against humanity) will hide out in a place like that, but the Israeli tactic of warning people to evacuate to certain areas, and apparently recognising them as 'safe', and then bombing the **** out of them regardless of casualties on some dodgy 'intelligence' tip that a bad-guy might be there (and if they really knew they'd have infiltrated an arrest / assassination group on the ground to make sure, the way the Americans took care of Bin Laden), is quite disagreeably cynical, even by the standards of modern asymmetric warfare. I don't envy the Israelis their vile opponents, but they're not doing themselves a lot of reputational favours here.
Displaced people sheltering in Gaza said their tents were torn down by the force of the strike, describing bodies and body parts strewn on the ground.
“I couldn’t even tell where I was or what was happening,” said Sheikh Youssef, a resident of Gaza City who is currently displaced in the al-Mawasi area.
“I left the tent and looked around, all the tents were knocked down, body parts, bodies everywhere, elderly women thrown on the floor, young children in pieces,” he told Reuters.
Many of those wounded in the strike, including women and children, were taken to the nearby Nasser hospital, which hospital officials said had been overwhelmed and was “no longer able to function” due to the intensity of the Israeli offensive and an acute shortage of medical supplies.
“The hospital is full of patients, it’s full of wounded, we can’t find beds for people,” said Atef al-Hout, director of the hospital, adding that it was the only one still operating in southern Gaza.
^yr info is out of date
Not sure in what sense you mean that. Hamas are claiming the death toll has increased to 90, but Haaretz were saying 20 minutes ago that the outcome of the attempted strike against Deif remained 'unclear'.

Who established these facts? How did they do so? We all have our biases, but I didn't peg you for the type to parrot completely unverified propaganda as revealed truth just because it confirmed your bias. Oh well, we move on.
If the Israeli story was 100% true, do you think the Hamas Health Ministry would report, "They got us. A bunch of Hamas guys had a war meeting in a humanitarian zone violating international law and they bombed it and killed them, with minimal collateral damage." Of course not, they would 'report' it exactly as they did.
At this point why would anyone take at face value propaganda from sources whom the truth is completely irrelevant, and would report the same thing no matter what the facts are?
This isn't "verified fact," but it does appear that Hamas communication network has recently been compromised, and their command structure is vulnerable in a way it hasn't been before.
At the start of the war it was reported Hamas had switched to Chinese provided communication equipment that Israel had no capability to intercept. It is quite possible that Israel recently found a way to intercept communications. It is also possible Israel has internal sources that realize Hamas is on a suicide mission and are more than willing to take the Palestinian people down with them, and are working with Israel to try to save the Palestinian people.
They dropped multiple 1k or 2k pound bombs on people in tents. But these are special bombs that only kill Dief.
Bad day to be hanging out with Hamas leadership.
the war will end when the talks begin
If Israel has its way the talks will begin when there's ~nothing left of Gaza.
