To reiterate some of the points:
1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.
2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.
3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.
4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.
5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.
If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.

They are much safer BECAUSE Gaza is being bombed and otherwise swept by militaries constantly and that should go on until not a single resident even consider it possible to ever take arms against Israel
that doesnt mean they are going to target civilians themselves. they have displayed a lot more honor than the Israelis. my guess is they target things like water sources and electricity. hope they dont go after hospitals and paramedics which I dont think they will, bc well you know they have more honor and humanity.
So word is China and the US have told Israel that Iran's fossil fuel industry is off limits. Iran's entire economy is fossil fuels, so Israel could easily destroy their entire economy if they chose (so could the US, but that has never been our objective, for good or bad).
Prevailing wisdom is that Israel will accede to this request/demand if Iran's counter response is limited enough. But if Iran passes a certain threshold, or gets lucky and does some serious damage, all bets are off.

if enough palestinians decide to flee we could reach a point where the remaining ones are few enough that Israel can actually militarily occupy those lands as long as necessary to guarantee Hamas, or anything like it, can never come back again in any organized form.
Maybe it could take decades sure but we can finance that, instead of giving money to UNRWA

How we got here was by allowing Gaza to do it's things without militaries on the ground there.
This allowed tunnels to be built, reinforced, stocked with weapons.
Terrorists to be trained and so on.
I am talking having armed IDF personnel in Gaza policing the streets, I am talking actual occupation for as long as necessary.
IDF distributing aid, not a box going through UNRWA hands. And so on.
You guys called letting Gaza be self run an occupation. Result was a self run Gaza became the perfect spot for terrorists to flourish, by stealing all aid money.
An actual occupation is needed to avoid that in the future.
I think we can all be grateful that the US have a state of its own in the middle east (Israel) to defend the west from extremism and terrorism. If Iran do attack (which it will be stupid if they do), it will be met with force no doubt and cause much more damage to Iran than it would to Israel - so let's just hope it is empty threats from Iran and they remember which country gave them billions of dollars (meant for aide) for releasing only a handful of hostages.

You’ve left out the part where Israel’s treatment of Palestinians has made it much easier for Hamas to recruit, just like terrorist attacks on Israelis has made it easier for right wing nuts in Israel to justify their treatment of Palestinians, and on and on…
victim blaming, same as wearing a skirt doesn't justify the rapist, Israel treatment of Palestinians (which in Gaza simply meant cutting them off most access to Israel, which they have no right to at all) doesn't in any way or form justify ANY violent action

Nowhere did I justify anything. I’m explaining how each side justifies its own violence which in turn is used by the other side to justify their own violence. I’m describing cause and effect.
