Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD
Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...
These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.
To reiterate some of the points:
1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.
2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.
3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.
4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.
5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.
If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.
Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
Israel vows more strikes in Lebanon as death toll soars, thousands flee
The Israel Defense Forces said Tuesday that it had hit 1,500 “terrorist infrastructure targets in southern Lebanon and deep inside Lebanese territory.”
“Hezbollah today is not the same Hezbollah we knew a week ago,” Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said, claiming the group “has suffered a sequence of blows to its command and control, its fighters, and the means to fight.”
In Lebanon, the death toll since Monday — one of the country’s deadliest days since a protracted civil war ended in 1990 — rose to at least 569, according to the Ministry of Health, which does not distinguish between combatants and civilians but said there were 50 children, 94 women and nine paramedics among the dead.

translation: they blew up 1500 houses and killed a many of the inhabitants.
None of the houses were storing weapons
British warships are in the area to help evacuate. They've already began a scorched-earth policy
Almost your entire list can be directly attributed to Hamas ****ing the Palestinians. It’s really not worth picking through. There’s no genocide, you’re living in an alternate reality.
And the article still never mentioned genocide or even insinuated it… hm.
Pretty much every source is showing a serious degree of food insecurity and illness. But we are also talking about 100ks of people with no end in sight.
Israel has basically announced that they are going to take out Hez and that is going to add a whole nother layer of chaos for a bunch of Lebanese in an already poverty stricken country.
Israel has had a lot of practice controlling the number of calories going into Gaza to keep Gazans right at the edge of starvation.
50 kids dead in the latest round of precision targeted attacks. Presumably they were human shields, so you don't have to worry too much. Or maybe they were sitting on top of Hezbollah tunnels, it's okay to kill them if that's the case.

Israel is so good at starving people that them not starving people and facilitating international aid operations is evidence of them starving people. Genius.

558-50. 11-1 in civilian areas is pretty good I’m betting.
Also not sure how they are classifying children, does it also include 14-17 year old child soldiers that the region seems to be a fan of recruiting?
a likely story
I wonder if this war will expose to people that Iran is just using them as pawns and cannon fodder, or if everyone smart enough to realize it has already been blasted off the face of the Earth by Israel.

Iran isnt really supporting hez and hamas as much as people think. A lot of their funding that is often mentioned goes back a long time and isnt as a relevant to the situation.
Iran is a functioning society that doesnt want a war. Hez and hamas are a group of regurgitated mouthbreathing putcasts. Id actually take the extremely unpopular stance that israel and iran could end up improving relations from here. Yes, i know how redic that sounds.
Why isn't Hezbollah firing it's 150K rockets. Has Israel neutralized them before they could?

Fair point, yes, we can't prove they weren't all teenage Hezbollah supersoldiers. And besides, 11:1 is probably a great ratio when you're bombing civilian areas.
Iran’s President Pezeshkian says Tehran ready to improve ties with West
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian told the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) that he wants to open a “constructive” chapter in his country’s international relations and that Tehran is “ready to engage” with the West over its nuclear programme.
In his first speech at the UN’s annual gathering of world leaders on Tuesday, Pezeshkian also strongly criticised Israel for what he called “its genocide in Gaza” and its “atrocities”, “crimes against humanity” and “desperate barbarism” in its war on the Palestinian territory as well as attacks on Lebanon.
“I aim to lay a strong foundation for my country’s entry into a new era, positioning it to play an effective and constructive role in the evolving global order,” Pezeshkian told the UNGA.
“We seek peace for all and have no intention of conflict with any country … Iran opposes war and emphasises the need for an immediate cessation of military conflict in Ukraine,” Pezeshkian said.

So you're not voting for Harris then?

War? Tt's just Israel just killing defenseless civilians. There needs to be some greater symmetrical sense to a conflict to call it a war. If I crush an ant did I battle it? That's what you sound like, depicting the wholesale slaughter of innocent people as a war.
You really don't know you're surrounded by absolute lunatics until they have occasion to safely endorse ethnic cleansing without any negative social consequences for themselves.
It sounds like Hezbollah fired a ballistic missile.
