President Elon Musk
He probably deserves his own thread at this point, discuss accordingly
The future was pretty bright until df got elected.
To be clear I’m not saying at all that trump is a guy I wanna have a beer with, I very very very much do not. But if there’s a compulsory choice between him and Leon it’s clearly trump
FWIW I would take a beer with musk before JD Vance and its not even close for me .
Tech is one of the most worker salary based industries. Something like the social security administration would s responsible for 73 million peoples benefits. Cutting the workforce even by 100% is not a huge deal when you look at the amount of money they are responsible for. But I don’t think too many people claim trump will actually reduce government spending. It’ll just be shifted to more trump friendly stuff like farm welfare.
The funny part is the next conservative to say I’ll run the go
Running a government like a business is a crappy idea, because while business can be adept at handling crises and faults, its answer to catastrophe is usually to shut down.
That was already the case as I told you guys repeatedly being mocked about it by people here which didn't understand the ongoing dynamic.
It was already the case. Secretaries/heads of agencies had the last call on everything affecting their department/agency
I guess you should have told Musk and Trump because Musk was running the show and Trump said he was on two occasions.
In other news, Captain Obvious, the President has last call on everything regarding the executive branch. Bet you didn't think that was the case during Biden's term, eh?
DOGE: We command you agencies to give us full access to your systems, fire all probationary employees using our form language, and cut all the services and contacts we tell you to. Do it now, or else you’re fired. Here are examples we’ve made of some agency heads who have been fired for disobedience.
Agency heads - Ok.
INDEPENDENT DECISION accomplished!!

Uhhh those are the people who are relevant for this discussion? You’ve said this before and even now the vast majority of these heads are actings that have not been senate approved yet. The only stuff that is really all done is the cabinet.
How about the rest of it? You call that an independent decision?

I always said that Trump nominated heads are in charge. That was my claim, you can check it.
When you had no Trump nominated heads of departments or agencies ofc DOGE played the crucial role to avoid anti-trump-agenda people act against the administration will.
I hope you agree DOGE (or any other entity which does Trump bidding) is better for democracy at making any choice rather than a previous admin pick, or a "career servant" not aligned with the elected administration agenda in full right? From jan 20 on any decision by any agency or department that doesn't strictly reflect the priorities of the Trump administration is a complete violation of democracy.
Vast majority of the heads have been senate approved already, not sure what you mean.
So you at least agree that DOGE was running the show for the first couple months?

More than anything you have a bunch of incompetents managed by other incompetents so nobody knows who’s in charge or what is even required or lawful.
As always it remains confusing to me that a fascist from Italy who believes non-natives have less than no right to dictate terms in a country they are not born to (or apparently be allowed to live in that country without being abused up to their own murder) wants to tell Americans how they should live
