True. Many of the "savings" they have shared were misleading at best. But even if all were completely accurate, I haven't seen anything that qualifies as abuse or fraud. And it only counts as waste if it doesn't meet your preferences. Personally I think that every dollar ever spent on a space program was wasted, but I recognize that the majority of voters disagrees with me.
I don't think anyone is surprised that there are govt programs that most people don't want and consider it govt waste. Personally, the idea of going to Mars is a giant waste of money.
I would like to see money being spent abroad to be spent here to make life better but foreign expenditures for medicine, shelter, food and clean water for other nations is certainly in the wheelhouse of what I consider appropriate. In addition to the guns and weapons, of course.
Let's see some evidence that these funds were going to the pockets of the Congress before claiming it's all fraud and let's see some money returned to the taxpayers, instead of it being reappropriated. I won't hold my breath.....

Also literally no one in the world pays 60% effective tax right now, and no US party proposes that.
In italy until we very recently created a formula that taxes "reasonably" (but only under 85k), effective tax rate for the self employed was over 60%.

If you are a lawyer RIGHT NOW , self employed (typical in Italy) and earn 150k per year after expenses, you pay like 35k for pension, and pay 43% marginal on the 115 (over 55).
And your services are VAT covered so over the 1k the customer pays, you are paying *A LOT MORE THAN 60%* to the state.
