The Democratic Party's Slide Into Irrelevance
Attaching a poll ... Dems unfavorability rating increased from 45% to 57% during the Biden Administration.
I think there was a lot of deliberate voter suppression by state governments controlled by Republicans.
I don't think anything said about Hitler's election above could be considered 'rigged' any more than that. Just typical parliamentary manipulation.
lol
I hate the ****in' Democrats (see below), but this boomer meme you got from @MAGAPureBloodDebbie1488 or whatever is very stupid and ahistorical. You're some dumb, zero-content Nazified weirdo, so there's no point in fully explaining why this meme is dumb and why you are dumb for re-posting it, so instead I'll ask just one question: Is it possible, is it CONCEIVABLE, that there was a major political realignment between the parties in the DECADES UPON DECADES of time between pictures 1 and 2?
This is idiotic. Not only are the people in black not trying to harass and intimidate a segment of the population, but THEY'RE NOT DEMOCRATS.I am certain that if you asked the people at any of the more extreme protest events which turned into riots, the majority would say they are not Democrats.I've seen lots of posts online of people organizing even the more peaceful events, e
Yes. This more-or-less describes me, at least until the last sentence (why did Kamala win 6.3 million fewer votes than Biden? The "far-left" hates Biden at least as much.) The actual left hates the Dems about as much as the GOP does. Unfortunately, informing right-wingers of this, even when we bother to painstakingly detail out WHY, never prevents them from calling centrist, corporatist, careerist Dems like Joe Biden or Nancy Pelosi "leftists" or even "Marxists" in their very next post.
I am not a Trump fan at all, but Republican voters did vote for him in the primary. He wasn't just installed as the candidate.
There was no significant opposition to him. While this is typical when a sitting president is running for reelection, it was the first time in my life that there was no significant contest for the nomination when the candidate was not president, and it happened in both parties.
Prior to 1968, every presidential nominee from each party was chosen by delegates at the convention without much consideration for the primaries or caucuses which were held in some of the states. I think it's ridiculous that taxpayers have to pay for political organizations to hold elections. It should be up to them to decide their nominee in whatever way the leadership prefers.
Oh, and I also laugh at all the people who are like "Oh, the damn FAR LEFT is why Harris lost Michigan, all you gotta do is give all the votes for Jill Stein to Kamala and she wins!" I see this all the time from #RESIST right-wing Democrats on Twitter and elsewhere.
It cracks me up for many reasons. I'll just mention one, which is that a HUGE number of those Jill Stein voters wouldn't have voted for Harris EVEN IF Trump and Harris were the only two names allowed on the ballot. They would leave it blank and vote down-ballot or simply not show up to vote at all. Whether that's morally right or wrong, one can debate, but the fact remains.

IMO, Harris got fewer votes than Biden for two main reasons, each with two subordinate reasons.
1 - 2020 had unusually high turnout because
1a - due to Covid, many states made it easier to vote by extending voting hours / days, and allowing vote by mail
2b - many people had more time available, again because of Covid related unemployment and lack of activities
2 - Harris was never as popular as Biden, at least partially because
2a - she's black
2b - she's a woman
If Biden had decided not to run for reelection much earlier, there is a very good chance that another nominee would have been chosen, who would have had a better chance of winning.
It's bizarre to me that Republicans complain about Harris being an unelected nominee, as Trump would likely have lost if he had run against a stronger Democratic candidate.
Maybe it's not the democratic party. Maybe it's just us. Maybe we've just become more racist and stupid and getting worse by the day.

If the excuse is she was black and a woman is that the reason she was the first to drop out of the 2020 primary? Of course not she was a bad candidate and annoying . She refused to do any media and engage the voters

That's all fair, and I almost didn't include the "why did Kamala win 6.3 million fewer votes than Biden? The far-left hates Biden at least as much" part as the POTUS election is way too complex and with too many moving parts to reduce it in that way.
I don't think I agree with points 2a and 2b. There's a popular argument amongst liberals that the 2028 Democratic candidate has to be a straight white man, because those darn Black men and Hispanic men are just too sexist to vote for a woman-of-color over any White (or Orange) man. Beyond being flatly offensive, I think they're having a causation-correlation issue here. I think Trump did great with those groups for OTHER reasons. I also think the fact that Mexico recently elected a first-generation Jewish woman as President is quite the dagger to the "Hispanic men are too sexist" argument in the U.S.

You're right that she was a bad candidate and you're right that she dropped out insanely early, before a single vote was officially cast. Now, if you're some nobody, that's no big deal, but she was one of the favorites! And she didn't even make it to the calendar year 2020!
It was pretty crazy for them to just coronate Kamala like that. Maybe they legitimately thought there was no time for any real process, I dunno, but the fact that nobody likes her seems to be more important!

no the main reason was bc the Democratic leaders decided that they preferred to slaughter babies in Gaza rather than win the presidency over a guy they think is the greatest threat to the country. really makes you think.

I think folks saw earlier on that Biden was decaying and just couldn't handle the lies about him. Than they picked Kamala and when asked what policies would you have done different her answer was none
The American people wanted the border closed and the Dems seemed to be on the wrong side of common sense 80/20 issues add in a candidate that was scared to do media . Heck the Dems even were no longer for Universal Healthcare

It is impossible for anyone to be more annoying than Trump, so that's obviously not a disqualification.

I don't think black and Hispanic American men are more sexist than whites (I really have no idea if they are or not, I haven't looked into it), and I didn't say anything about that.

If anyone voted for Trump, or even just didn't vote at all, because of that reason is an idiot. Obviously Trump is even more on the side of baby-slaughtering, and never attempted to hide it, saying he wanted Gaza to become an American tourist colony.
Plus he's now helping to kill people in Iran.
But I don't believe there were enough of those idiots to cause Trump to win.
Take THAT, Tennessee's LGBTQ children seeking gender-affirming healthcare!
Conservatives, always punching up, always taking on the most powerful groups!
You even fail to realize what the decision is about.
Why do you even think for a moment it's about that specific procedure being reasonable or not? that's not what courts are about!!!!
Let Roberts teach you a thing about *your ****ing country*
Writing for the majority, Chief Justice John Roberts acknowledged that the dispute “carries with it the weight of fierce scientific and policy debates about the safety, efficacy, and propriety of medical treatments in an evolving field.” But the court’s only role, he said, is to ensure that the Tennessee law does not violate the Constitution’s guarantee of equal protection.
Courts aren't there to determine the "best practice". They are ONLY there to determine, in this case, if a specific constitutional provision applies to that topic or not.
Answer is a clearcut uncontroversial for normal people (and the court), NO.
Those people who think they should be able to access those services can move their asses to a state that thinks like them. That's one of the beautiful elements of the american system, when state rights are defended. Move your ass where the state agrees with you about topics you care about.
Notice that wouldn't be possible in case of federal over-reach. If courts, like democrats wish so much, imposed stuff at the federal level, people disagreeing would have NO recourse.
It's just not a federal topic at all. It's horrific to try to force it at the federal level. It's a state topic same as legalizing prostitution or not and many other things.
Democrats love the idea of being able to force their preferences on red states. Republicans just want to be able to make their own choices where they are the majority, about everything that doesn't explicitly violate the constitution.
Democrats hate the idea of republicans being allowed to decide for themselves where they are the majority. Democrats intimately hate democracy when it doesn't deliver the outcome they want

Democrats love democracy, they didn’t cry , « election fraud because we lost » ….

You really believe that? I think most anti-abortion people would like it to be banned by national law, and I would guess most feel the same about prostitution. They definitely wanted to prevent everyone in the country from gambling online.
I don't care. You have me confused with someone who is concerned with the machinations of our legal system and the application of states' rights with regards to separate healthcare regimes.*
My issue is more philosophical: conservatives pathologically attack the most marginalized groups around, which is unnecessarily cruel AND a net detriment to society. And I think our reliance of and obedience to our institutions (of all kinds) leads to a bunch of people who become unnecessarily victimized.
To be less verbose: trans kids want and deserve gender-affirming medical care, giving it to them victimizes nobody, so let's do that and not worry about offending the minders of our dusty institutions.
*which, btw, is a real pain in the ass and NOT a positive feature of states' rights like you allude to in your post (which I read, I didn't snip your quote because I dismissed it.) I moved to Florida and immediately was struck by the horrendous healthcare system in this state. It's truly horrible, please, believe me. The state I came from had an infinitely less bad system... yet was also a red state. Basically, this libertarian/states rights' idea that "oh gee, I've done the math, it's time to pick up and move to x state, it has better policies!" isn't actually workable in real American life.
