Kubrick - 2

track was next on our list so that's not ours with a 2 clue

I think plot for movies

I hope Neil knows the specific reference as to why Kubrick

Of his I know of 2001, Dr. Strangelove, and Clockwork Orange

On that basis I would do:

Moon - 2001
Death - Strangelove, weak

Moon may have been a terrain word.

The second Kubrick word is probably a movie of his I don't know. If something jumps out, we win.

Oooh plot, good call

Moon
Plot
Bottles

I might have liked tides for moon/water/day though.

Wasnt The Shining a Kubrick film?

I wish I was more of a cinephile

I'm convinced the second word is a reference we're not getting

death/plot is something like assassination - 2

as you said moon/water/day would be tides

I think it was, yes. So that's another.

I feel like it has to be moon/something.

I don't see anything in the list that screams the Shining to me. Which would be words like hotel, kitchen, mind, murder, novel... heck king woud do it.

bump

sorry i've had a super busy day

we just go plot and pop bottles?

Works for me

Not gonna let this drag on another couple days.

water and day?

then track to make up terrain

moon is never ours otherwise this would be unlimited

We couldn’t win here, so guessing track is not advised and neither is removing moon from the list.

This is only true in the end game if track is ours. And, if track is ours and moon isn’t, I’m almost always doing a 3-clue here to get n-1. If it’s an impossible combo, I’m probably doing a 1-clue and then counting on another turn.

I wasn’t going to clue anything near pool. I know it’s tide pool, not tides pool, but it was still too close for comfort. If we needed it for the win, then I might’ve gone for it, but I felt good about getting another turn and made it clear to you guys we couldn’t win that turn.

sorry for some reason i just assumed track was ours

gg, all. Sorry it took a while. I was traveling this week and also had a tough time finding a final clue that wasn’t blocked. Almost clued Apollo more than once (for Apollo 13), but didn’t like death and slug on the board. Couldn’t clue controversy because of death. Same with Star (Wars), death was in the way.

I was hopeful you guys would know Kubrick’s connection to the moon landing (or make a general space connection from 2001, like you did) and also figure that plot was ours because he was, you know, one of the most influential filmmakers of all-time. Nice job getting there.

Oh dang I forgot about the faked moon landing theory! But 2001 got me there. 2001's plot starts on the moon where they find the first monolith! πŸ˜€

Good game, good clues

GG all, lol me forgetting about May Day being a thing I was thinking of May Day bank holiday which I thought would be too obscure

Brian May famous musician in Queen

Also, mayday the common radio signal for distress

Finally off of the goose egg on the board. πŸ˜€

Oh yeah Mayday lol me dropped the ball there
