bengal facilities finally catching up with college teams from last decade
just you wait 'til dey discover the transfer portal

Another WR gets paid, and it’s not Aiyuk, CD or Chase.

That 2023 trade might go down as the greatest/worst trade in history eventually if Caleb develops into something special.

Bears get
a 26yo 1st Rd receiver who gave them 1364 yards and 9 total TDs in yr 1 from terrible QB play
a 21yo starting OT
a starting CB who got 4 INTs as a rookie
one of the best QB prospects in a decade
a 2025 2nd Rd pick that will prolly be in the 30s
a 2025 4th Rd pick

Panthers got a 10th grader

* sorry heels

**** me.

I’m not really into dudes but you probably do deserve a sympathy root

I don’t see any scenario that ends with the 9ers paying aiyuk. And honestly they shouldn’t if that’s the choice. Aiyuk is a good receiver, but it’s not an accident that he didn’t amount to **** when Womp was flinging it. He’s a great route runner who will never attract double coverage cuz as the Niners as constructed are too deep to allow anyone to double up on a single option. Of the options the Niners have he’s the most replacable

That’s because womp was trying to commit murder out there.

Aiyuk definitely could look better than he is because of the system and surrounding cast, but all of the metrics, charting, etc. show him as one of the best receivers in the league.

The 49ers have a lot of tough decisions ahead of them. I guess that’s the price of being good.

At least I don’t have to stress about the Panthers. I know they’ll suck. But at least Bryce has had some cool throws in training camp without pressure.

Sorry me

you watch more 9ers than me but I’d prefer to keep him and then lose Samuel. His production can be replaced in different ways IMO (plus he’s older and more of an injury risk) but I think a receiver who can separate is crucial for that Offense

Yea they can't pay everyone. Not megatron but probowl productive but also gamer all the way. Catching balls off helmets, making the play. Lions shoulda went all the way. They did let 9ers back into it, but.. still was there to win. Guys dropping balls right in the chest to win it. Soul crushing, season ending. Aiyuk? Please.. makes all those everytime.

edit- i guess i would find a way to pay him.

I 100% agree with this and have had this argument a thousand times that Deebo and CMC are redundancies of each other whereas there is no route runner on this roster as elite as Aiyuk

The problem is you’re going to lose Deebo anyway and he can’t sit out this year. Once the contracts ballooned to the abject stupidity they’ve ballooned to Aiyuk became priced out no matter what. Niners can’t afford to lose Bork. I get why people think it’s easier to reset the QB and keep the pieces but: 1. The pieces age faster than Bork and 2. No team has shown more than the Niners that the idea that any idiot can walk in and crush is complete nonsense

crazy that somehow the 9ers are $52m UNDER the cap this season but $38m over for next season, without Aiyuk or Purdy.

But yeah, hard to see Samuel on the cap for $24m next year given the above. a post June 1 trade (next off season) would give them $17m cap relief

BORK

Barring some kind of injury, this seems idiotic. Why wouldn't you want Williams to get as many reps vs. actual competition as possible?

surely injury avoidance is precisely the reason?

If he plays his line has to play too.

It does show how little the coaches value the pre season games though

Doesn't this show how much they value the actual purpose of them?

The whole point of pre season games is to give in-game reps to the non-starters to see which ones might be good enough to be a starter or even just make the team.

Caleb's already signed and is their guy. No reason to play him.

Maybe they need it to call the Pre-PreSeason since the first 4 weeks of the regular season is kind of like the PreSeason these days…

Playoff teams that will miss this season

AFC - Definitely Steelers and possibly Buffalo and/or Cleveland

NFC - Definitely Bucs and possibly Detroit and/or Rams

There are some crazy playoff odds out there. Jets are -170 to make playoffs

Lions are gonna ROAR their way to the Superb Owl.

While I’m not totally convinced by Goff, Lions have the best core of young players in the NFL IMO. If Jameson Williams can develop and their 24 draft is half as good as 23 then they’re gonna be a force for as far as Goff can take them

Probably not too crazy gambling wise. Pats are a mess and bills have zero weapons at skill postions. Lost one in free agenecy who was all they had and did nothing excpet draft one guy who is funny I'll give him that. Thier defense is also not good. Jets do have a D and a running back. I wouldn't say they are saying Jets are good, just division related bet.

lions missing playoffs will only happen due to mass injury or death
