Universally acclaimed art/artists...that just don't do it for you

I liked Clint in The Bridges of Madison County, a movie I thought I would hate, but the film won me over. That and Johnny Hartman on the soundtrack helped.

Eastwood's one of my favorite directors. I like his acting but not because of his talent. It's because his characters are awesome.

I think it was mentioned, but I didn't get Nirvana, or more broadly, the whole grunge thing.

I did like Todd Snyder's spoof though.

Mick Jagger's voice is annoying.

You know who's voice is really annoying to me? Stevie Nicks! It's okay for a song but listening to a whole album of it makes me hate her.

(Off topic!) Interestingly (or not) I had never watched South Park. Until this year! I remember trying once 20+ years ago and quit after an episode. Had a lot going on back then 😀 But back about 4-5 months ago I jumped in on season one, episode one. It's magnificent! Almost done (into season 25 right now) and don't want it to end. I have a sneaking suspicion as soon as I finish it I will start right over and do it again.

Make sure you watch the movie.

Yes, scheduled! As soon as I finish the series. I will admit I feel a dropoff from about season 20 and on. But still better than practically anything else.

I had a thought the other day of a colaberation movie combining South Park, The Simpsons, Bevis and Butthead and King of the Hill. Could be magnificent!

Pretty unbelievable they are still able to remain relevant after over a quarter of a century on air. They also have a few one-off specials from recent years that are well worth watching if you aren't aware of them. The movie is amazing tho.

Yeah and they were way ahead of their time on almost every cultural issue. Pure genius!

Funny story about the South Park guys.

They don't start working on episodes until the week they're scheduled to air. The entire process takes six days days, so they're really able to stay on top of current events.

Yeah, pretty sad how they only managed to keep the joke going for 19 (!) seasons.

Yeah this is why it surprises me that someone would think watching 20 year old episodes for the first time would think it was great.

I liked it a lot for the first several years, but then when Kenny was replaced by Butters I couldn't watch it much longer; I hated that character.

Aww, don't hate on Butters. He's just a little bi-curious.

His voice / speech pattern is so annoying.

My only gripe with South Park is that they can be unnecessarily mean at times. Not that the Paris Hilton and Sarah Jessica Parker episodes aren't funny, but if I'm being honest, they didn't deserve it.

I can see how someone would feel that way. I like his character, but to each their own.
