"Winter is icummen in,
Lhude sing Goddamm,
Raineth drop and staineth slop
And how the wind doth ramm!
Sing: Goddamm."

Patriots continue to surprise whereas the Bills continue to disappoint. Dom in mourning once again.
Leaving NYC this weekend. Crammed in a lot in three days: Porgy and Bess at the Met, Brooklyn Museum of Art and Metropolitan Museum for shows, Chamber Magic with Steve Cohen at the New York Palace Hotel, and some comedian, Josh Johnson, at the Beacon Theater. Also had the chance to watch all of Doors by Christian Marclay. I loved it, and even one of my traveling companies caught about forty minutes of it with me. You never know what people will like until exposed to it.
Didn't see many communists roaming the streets. I guess Mamdani hasn't had enough time to institute reforms.
Seeing the homeless guys on the Upper East Side is appalling. They're camped under umbrellas on the sidewalk. One guy was feeding his cat that was on a leash wearing a cat sweater.
Can't we be better than this? If we can afford 400 million for a ballroom, why can't we house the homeless?
Anyway, I love NYC.

Winter is really icumen in. Still haven't moved into new place. It has a garage, so I'm going to spend a couple days there.
This will be the first place I have ever had a garage and won't need to shovel out my car.

Happy Friday! Stay warm out there! Looks like most of the country in a winter weather warning. Looks like we in Chicago will miss the snow but not the cold! It has been sub zero all day and is supposed to be again tomorrow. It was -10 this morning but now is only a balmy -3. With the wind it's -30 😀 Looks like the east coast and area south of me will get hammered with snow. This winter has sucked and has been our toughest winter in years. Bundle up!
Saw the upper midwest forecast at lunch; high in my hometown to be -9F today.
Called my uncle to make sure they're ok. Just staying in, furnace running well.
Be safe. Stay warm. Don't go out unless it's really necessary.
I have another week in my oceanside apartment. I will miss the stunning view but not the wind. Wind chill factor is at least 10 degrees colder here than a mile inland.
Glad I have until next weekend to move.

yes, be safe out there folks!
quite the opposite in the NW.
rained half an inch since the 8th and we are no where close to our average snowpack need and i ain't talking about skiing.
drove through government camp near the base of mt hood on wednesday morning, which averages close to 60 inches of snow in january.
here's a time stamped road cam pic from pretty close to right now
unfortunate predecessor to another firey summer

An inch of rain is about a foot of snow (I think?). Hopefully you get enough snow/rain to stave off fire season! We need less natural disasters.
Same no snow here in SLC. We had at least a foot on the ground on Halloween most years in the ‘70s.
Yeah, nothing to speak of here either for snow. Worse, the mountains aren't getting much, so drought looks pretty inevitable.
I imagine there will be watering restrictions this summer. I'm ok with that. Maybe we shouldn't have lawns in a semi arid area like Denver.. Perhaps I'll do a little more grass removal and figure out something to water less.
Anyone know non-twin full siblings who were born in the same calendar year? Celine Dion might have a pair.
either we end hate or hate ends us
there is no inbetween
I’m sure it was not uncommon 100 years ago.
The most famous examples probably are:
OK, this is pretty funny. AI was typically useless with results like the Dionne Quintuplets, Jedward, and Jessica Simpson’s kids born 11 months apart…in different years.
But did see mention of a mathematician named Leila Schneps. Dug deeper—she’s also written a series of math-based detective novels as Catherine Shaw—and found this.

But what’s really funny, is her wiki page doesn’t mention any of this…nor does it list her birthdate.
How's everyone around the country doing? A foot of snow here in Newport, RI where we usually get an inch or two when the rest of the state gets a foot.

a little chilly in Vegas. Maybe 60 degrees.
Still icy in Texas
but is it still ‘assy’?
Pretty much back to normal in Denver. 40ish and sunny, the 2" or so of snow is melting.
