2025 WSOP!!
I know it’s early and normally I’m not excited about WSOP this soon after but dang it, I’m itching to go back already!
I made some deep runs and cashed in 2024 but still feel unfulfilled by going home without some hardware on my wrist.
2025 is my year!!
Any thoughts on how the GG purchase might change it in 2025, if at all? I suspect it will be pretty similar to last year but with more online qualifiers, satellites, and events.
I've stayed at both. If the money doesn't matter to you, I think Paris is the objectively nicer hotel.
Is it a drastic difference? No.
Is the convenience going to vary wildly from one to the other? No. They are both ground zero for the WSOP.
Battle of the Ages sounds interesting. Should get a fair amount of 50+ year olds wanting to play against each other then teach the whipper snappers a lesson. And a fair amount of under 50s who see the older crowd as easy pickings on day two. Could be fun.
I think I’ll be doing the $1000 Mystery Bounty event at the kickoff of all this. But I’m coaching my son’s Little League team and if we make playoffs, they start right around that time so may have to go later after we win the championship.
.
Am I missing something? I see regular Seniors having 2 starting flights: Monday the 16th and Tuesday the 17th/listed as 5 day event. Seniors High Roller is Thursday the 12th, 4 day event.
Event 59 Battle of the ages - new 2 day event; two starting flights on day one with the first being 50+ at 10 am and second under 50 at 4 pm. Field combines on day 2.
Now that the WSOP has released its schedule....
How long until the others do you think like Golden Nugget Wynn Aria..?
I have off in June. Just want to try to have some fun.
It varies year to year, but hopefully soon. I played at the Nugget last week and they said there schedule is ready. They like to wait until the WSOP gets released and make tweaks to cater to players in town for specific events. I'm guessing most of the venues are in the same boat. A little reshuffle and release.
I need time to digest the schedule. I was hoping for a 5- Card PLO event (Not Big O).
I was hoping to fire at a few small buy-in PLO events this year as well as the main event. But the PLO events that would be most enticing seem to come after the main event. So I think my trip might be arrive just before the main event and play the mini-main and then stick around and play some PLO events after the main event.

I like the Horseshoe. The food court is convenient. I can eat breakfast there and grab a Subway sub which I will shove in my 'fridge for the dinner break. I hope the food court brings back that Asian option that was similar to Panda Express.

Yes agree. Seems like there’s plenty of PLO events. Wouldn’t hurt to make one of then 5 card.

My target tournaments the last few years have been the Seniors, Super Seniors and the Milly Maker, which I plan to play again. They each have great structures, even though you don't get an enormous starting stack.
The Battle of the Ages sounds interesting, but since it only has 30 minute levels, I'm probably going to skip that. I'm concerned it'll play like a turbo, and I'm not interested in anything like that for my trips out to Vegas.
Other than the above 3 bracelet events, I'll be looking at the Wynn, Resorts and maybe the Golden Nugget for other tournaments. I played at the Nugget for the first time last year and the fields were pretty soft.
Has the WSOP posted the detail structure sheets for each event yet ? Its easier to be positive what the final days are in a multiway event when they have. Have I just missed it somehow ?
Structure sheets only available up to Event 40 for some reason, I assume the rest will be available soon.
How do the Landmark satellites work? Do you secure your seat based on a specific chip count?
The biggest difference I see is the increase in rake, at least in the lower buy-in event. Looks like it has gone up from 10% to 11.5% in the $1.5k, though held steady at 7% in the 10k.
But it also appears like the structures might be slightly slower in the limit events. At least it looks like they've added an early 300-500 level.
I don't like either of these changes, but they're pretty marginal.
More rake isn’t better?

Yes, once you get to the "landmark" chip amount you call out that you've made it and they come and verify the count, then take you and your chips out of play and award you the prize. There usually ends up being a few seats that go to the last players left, regardless of chip counts, because the removed chips means that the last players can't make the target.
I played one of their $120 to win $1000 last summer and won, I enjoyed the format. Was an interesting strategy wrinkle. And then fun knowing that if I could steal the blinds/antes I would hit the number on the nose, hoping I could look down at a realistic jam and seeing KK haha.

Yeah, it's weird. On the ones without a pdf link, you can click on the tournament listing and see level length and starting chips.
Thanks - Helps to know I'm not fully into dementia ........ yet. Since nothing matters to me until event 48 it makes sense I missed it.
I didn’t see if schedule says when online registration starts ?
Did I missed it or date is not announced yet ?
Thx

Someone had to get screwed. It's the seniors since they place first and then have to pay for another hotel day waiting for day 2. I would have thought they'd make it the other way around.
