2025 WSOP!!
I know itβs early and normally Iβm not excited about WSOP this soon after but dang it, Iβm itching to go back already!
I
GG increasing rake. No shock there...
Milly and monster have 4 flights now
Colossus and Milly too early for me, nvm
Quick look I have these options before Main Event:
$1k tag team
$300 Gladiator
$1k Mini Main
$600 Deepstack
$800 Summer Celebration
Are there Sats for events like the 1.5k millymaker as well or only for the bigger buy ins?
Looks like they added a dds for plo, and will also keep running the seniors and horse all for $250. These looks to be weekly
Here is the satty link

$800 Summer Celebration (This is a new one I think?)
What are they like? Cheers!
Nothing new !
No big guarantees!!
Very Run of a mill schedule ! ! !
Please let me know if I missed something exiting !!!!
I complained about the extra flights for the Colossus, Monster Stack, and Milly Maker last year, though I did end up playing the Milly Maker anyway. Not sure I love another bump up from 3 to 4 flights. These events are already such a top-heavy lottery that increasing the field only seems to benefit the eventual winner (and the regs who can fire max bullets). I think I'd rather just see more events on the schedule. From the venue's perspective, spreading out the flights may keep the individual flights smaller (without dropping the overall number of entries) and make the logistics easier to manage, which is a plus.
I noticed a TORSE event on the schedule. If I'm not mistaken, that's a first for the WSOP.
From a selfish perspective, my days were already locked (6/14-6/23). I lucked out by them moving the Salute to 6/14, as I wasn't expecting I would get to play it. I may also fire the Milly Maker, the $1500 freezeout, and that over 50/under 50 event, which looks to be another first.
Has anyone here played in any of these?
$1k tag team
$300 Gladiator
[X] $1k Mini Main
[X] $600 Deepstack
$800 Summer Celebration (This is a new one I think?)

I'm a known hater of the Mini Main. It has the same chip and level structure as the Main, but is basically a turbo since it has 30 minute levels (compared to 2 hours for the Main). Money by the end of day 1. Winner on day 2. It's a deceptively fast tournament. Any WSOP tournament with 30 minute levels is a glorified one day event that simply has too large of a field to actually end in 1 day. That's not necessarily a bad thing depending on your perspective, but I think it increases the role of pure luck.
For opposite reasons, I think the $600 Deepstack Championship is one of the best values on the schedule. I have played it four times. Slow structure will make it play more like a proper multi-day event. It only has one starting day, meaning the field size won't be completely out of control like the Colossus.
Thanks! Will only play the Mini Main if I don't make Day 2 of the Gladiator as they are same day.
As a mixed player, saw the press release and was excited about the $3k TORSE, but then saw the scheduling and it's tucked away at the very end without any other good mixed events around it.
For me to play it I would either have to extend my trip by 2 weeks or make a separate trip.
Good new inclusion, but bad scheduling.
As an OMC, very happy to see another Sr event added - esp as it will only be a 2 day event with both starting flights on Sunday. No idea why they dreamed up a battle of the ages but the timing is good around the Sr High Roller and reg Sr event. Looks like another 2 weeks in the desert this summer for me! Will also do my obligatory Milly flight again. Good times!
Only the Orleans and GN schedules are worth waiting for IMO (along with WSOP of course). Thatβs where the interesting variants are to be found - the ones whose dates you might want to plan your trip around. GN tend to be one of the earlier releases, whereas Orleans usually release their schedule pretty late. Seniors events are also something one might want to specifically targe
MGM has had some good stuff in the past.
Unfortunately the schedules are getting released later and later every year it seems. I'm already booked so I could take advantage of lower room rates......at the mercy of the schedule now.

$1k tag team
$300 Gladiator
$1k Mini Main
$600 Deepstack
$800 Summer Celebration (This is a new one I think?)

I haven't played Gladiator, and Summer Celebration is indeed a new event. I've played the other 3 though, along with several other events (Monster, Main, Housewarming, Seniors, a couple other 500/600 events).
Tag Team: You either love it or you hate it. I'm the second camp. It's a 20,000/60 minute event like the Seniors. It's kind of a fun atmosphere, and it's one of the few 1k buy-in events that sees a fair number of pros and celebrities playing it, so that's a positive. But the one time I played it I really didn't like it as it was impossible to get much of a feel/read on my table. You have to try to keep track of up to 16 other players instead of 8, and then when you tag out you can't follow the action (unless maybe your table is right by the rail but even then you're far enough back that it's tough to see). If you're trying to actually split time with your partner, it kinda sucks because you have to kill time while they're playing, and while you are playing you're thinking about how you'd have to justify it if you blow your stack or bust. It's just strange, I don't plan on playing it again.
Gladiator: I played the Housewarming a couple years ago and I'm guessing Gladiators is similar, just more. A fine event to get a taste of the WSOP, but expect a the full gamut of play and plenty of people happy to gamble early knowing they can fire several more bullets. The typical concern with massive fields applies in spades here: it's not a good return on your time unless you run super-deep. Check out last year's results and updates to see just how long you'd have to play to make even 3x your buy-in.
Mini Main: I echo DogFace's opinion on this one. Granted, the one time I played it I busted early on a hand where I was bewildered by my opponent's play, so that didn't help, but it's an odd structure. Yes, you start super-deep, but 30 minute levels go pretty quick. Compare to the opposite structure (small starting stack, long levels) with the Seniors or Tag Team: After 4 hours of those events, your 20k starting stack would represent 40BB at the start of level 5. In the Mini, your 60k starting stack would also be 40BB at the start of level 9.
$600 Deepstack: Do you mean the standard Deepstack on 6/1? It's also 30 minute levels, so plays pretty fast. The later $600 Deepstack Championship, as DogFace mentioned, is a good event with the right mix of very reasonable buy-in and good structure. Sure, you'll find plenty of similar 1 and 2 day events around this price point at other casinos, but here you can still experience the vibe of the WSOP and dream about winning a bracelet.
Can't speak to the Summer Celebration, but it's another 30 minute level event. It's designed to essentially be a turbo so that it runs the same 3 days as the first 3 flights of the Main Event, finishing before Flight D which always draws a massive crowd.
In the $500 - $1500 range, I would prefer the Monster or Millionaire Maker, then the Seniors (if you're eligible), Deepstack Championship, and Colossus. I'd skip the others in favor of 1-day events at Venetian, Wynn, Aria, or Orleans. Those events draw very large fields but the payout structures are far superior.
Nothing new !
No big guarantees!!
Very Run of a mill schedule ! ! !

The biggest difference I see is the increase in rake, at least in the lower buy-in event. Looks like it has gone up from 10% to 11.5% in the $1.5k, though held steady at 7% in the 10k.
But it also appears like the structures might be slightly slower in the limit events. At least it looks like they've added an early 300-500 level.
I don't like either of these changes, but they're pretty marginal.
Are there Sats for events like the 1.5k millymaker as well or only for the bigger buy ins?
In the sattys for the larger tournaments, you can usually use the winnings to play whatever bracelet tournaments that you want. When you claim your satty winnings in the payout area at the WSOP, they give you lammers that you use for your buy-ins, so it doesn't really matter what tournament you use them for. Just double check the wording of the satty tournament before you register to ensure that that's the case for whichever one you plan to play. The wording usually says something like "Good for any gold bracelet event".
Best place to stay for the WSOP? Paris vs Horseshoe.

Am I missing something? I see regular Seniors having 2 starting flights: Monday the 16th and Tuesday the 17th/listed as 5 day event. Seniors High Roller is Thursday the 12th, 4 day event.

Thanks π
Tag Team sounds like fun, my dad will definitely enjoy that so i'll play with him if he's up for it lol.
And yeah I meant the later $600 Deepstack Championship, definitely playing in that then π
Now that the WSOP has released its schedule....
How long until the others do you think like Golden Nugget Wynn Aria..?
I have off in June. Just want to try to have some fun.
Seniors vs young guns seems fun. Maybe next year we can get a USA vs rest of world
