As a player, I don't need "sit down money" and I don't need a staker to hand me a bankroll. The player needs a staking partner to underwrite him. The staker is not an investor, he is an insurer. He insures against losses in exchange for profits.
When an insurance company insures you against some adverse event, does it invest in you? Of course not.

I teach math
But my students have a better understanding of democracy than you have apparently
I hope that students being actively taught lessons know more about the subject matter than someone who hasn’t been in high school for 20+ years.
You teach racism
But if you want to make this thread about attacking me personally, i can return to ignoring you
Not a great start pw
But I'll give it one more chance
Please block me. You’re an idiot and a liar and a racist. These aren’t exclusively attacks, these are the behaviors I have seen you take
I reported you for racism. What happened? I thought the mods were cracking down on racists?

They have some other resources for the Optiver interview as well
To echo everyone else, c-bet flop even if it's a little a uncomfortable multi-way. There's quite a few good turn cards for you, and if you brick, it's not like you'll lose any more chips

I am a mid-stakes mtt player and just wondering where players think the best place to study/purchase coaching content is right now? I just finished a year subscription on Jonathan littles site which I thought was awesome! Just looking to try somewhere else!
Any recommendations appreciated!

Ever been to a country club, a Four Seasons, a community of multi-million dollars homes, an elite private school vs. a community college and a Motel 6? If not, observe and report back your theory.
It's a simple byproduct of evolution, really. Successful types attract more attractive mates.
Kids, stay in school, get straight A's and you have a better chance of meeting someone attractive. Then your kids will be more attractive and continue the cycle.
I’m sure OP has such a dream life with his cushy 500k a year job, dream trophy wife with 3 perfect kids that he has enough time to go on a poker forum to preach to strangers about how they should live THEIR lives. SMH

What do you mean by let it go? Free or how much?
Some of the minis on the market are notoriously noisy. Make sure to read some reviews on any specific model you want to buy ahead of time if noise distracting you is a deal breaker.
I'm nowhere near good enough to fold turn.
River is a fold. You beat nothing. At best you have a chop and that seems unlikely.
I folded. Never found out what he had, but my friend was saying I was crazy and I definitely had the best hand. Figured I'd ask. I think there's like a 30% chance I was good, but imo it's a fold against pretty much any opponent.
move down
But for real I would've bet flop and jammed turn. As played I would've done what I said.
Just read the results based on that I'm pretty sure he was bluffing.
I think that you assumed that the fold equity of 85% does not change with a smaller size shove. If that is the case, then yes, the book conclusion is clearly wrong. But, fold equity typically is a function of the bet size. It turns out that if hero bets 43.19 a fold equity of about 50% is breakeven for hero.
So, I would check to see if the author states somewhere how fold equity is related to bet size.
Incidentally, for the stated inputs, hero’s win with a fold equity of 85% is 54.5 compared to your 53.5, not that significant.
Very simple river check-call... well played. It's really easy to beat JT on that board.
It sounds like you might be a NL pro. If so, I think that you should be fine just playing a "tight is right" style. Bet/raise strong hands and draws. Call weaker hands if the odds are good enough. Otherwise fold. Expect a lot of "I know you have it, but I call" spots.
I've only played one 3/6 LHE game, but there was usually at least one player at the table literally learning the rules of holdem as he goes.
A raise could be considered if we thought that we could fold out a worse jack, but I doubt that happens often enough. It's just a boring call.
1) No, that would be nonsense
2) More callers isn't necessarily better. It increases the chances that we are drawing thin/dead since our outs are more likely to be blocked or dominated. I would prefer to be heads up since we have a small chance of being ahead and it is more likely that we have clean implied odds. I would only call multiway if we have the bdfd.
3) With a bdfd, yes. Without it, no.
4) Raising is terrible. I recommend entirely removing "raising the flop for a free river" from your game. It has no positive strategic value. Good LHE involves a lot of straightforward, boring play.
5) If we get a chance to isolate a player who is aggressive enough to bluff, we can make a protection raise. But otherwise, raising is really bad.
So, if it's some unknown player, maybe AT could be angling in some way, I guess. But in this case it's just a reg who gets along with everyone, is friendly at the table, gives action, and is known for having integrity, not being cutthroat or scummy.
No one said anything to suggest he be given back his last bet, and he took the loss in stride, other than getting up to take a walk to clear his head immediately after the hand.

Sometimes, top pair gets turned into napkins. This is one of those times.
Don't have a problem with DDP but one thing they seem to forget is we don't all have 10 milli+ hand DBs to work with. So maybe don't jump down someone's throat when they dont know they perfect exploit in an exact situation at a particular stake on 1 particular site.
Maybe slightly bigger otf to target the fish. You get same calls even if you bet bigger.
Jam is pretty big blunder.
Results... Very nice bluff by villain, I feel almost bad I have been such a station, they played it better than me.
