Just watched Casablanca and it made me think of this thread.
I didn't read the replies.
So you are playing PLO5 against aggressive loose players who think QhThTc9s7d is a "marginal" hand and who think flopping a 2-flush non-Broadway straight with no redraws is a through ticket.
Sounds like a gold mine to me. It is only a gold mine for you if the others play significantly worse than that, such as willingly putting in all their money drawing to 2nd nut flush or straight or under-full.
Besides flopping top full house QQT or TT7, its hard to imagine a "through ticket" flop for this hand. But nobody is going to put in all their money on the flop unless they have you tied. Even then, AKJ[QorT]x is in the hunt against you. Flop T32 retains the nuts only with a T/9/8 turn card. T86 gives board pairing or a J for redraws, and 8h6h2c are only has redraws if you turn a 5 unless head up against another flopped straight making your "flush" draw some value.
PLO5 deep stack loose games:
Against a table of loose players, the nuts is going to be out far too often; and you have negative implied odds with anything less. Tied nut straight is very common and is a virtual synch of someone else bets or raises. That means you need the A-flush, top full house, or a straight with multiple redraws to play. Playing non-nutty hands like yours is a disaster as it is very difficult to put in any money on the river with such hands. Having a pair of queens flopping top set is fair, but lower trips is asking for trouble as you can easily be 2nd set and your card makes other fools their straight draw.
This pretty much leaves As+++, AA++, KK+++, and A-Broadway long run downs like AKQT+. "+" means good additional value, such as a little worse than the other hands listed, such as Ks, A with the KK, and QQ. I would say that AhAdTh8c5c is a "marginal" hand. You can get away with lesser hands against passive players who let you fold 2nd nut hands with confidence.
And if you want to keep your variance down, the above squeaky tight play is a no-brainer.

Raise% = (How much you increase the wager by) / (size of the pot if you had called instead)
So yeah what ZK said, 15/20 = 75% pot-sized raise.
The way to think about it is to imagine they had said, "I see your $5 bet (pot is now $20), and raise you another $15". They matched your bet, then bet 15 into 20, e.g. 75%.
Even though that wording would be a string bet, it's how raises work in poker math.
UTG wasn't happy, claiming he hadn't done anything wrong, and shouldn't be the one suffering the punishment.
Not speaking up when literally the entire table acts out of turn behind you is 100% "doing something wrong". You don't get to sit back silently and reap the benefits of seeing everybody act when you were supposed to be first.
Perfectly fine ruling. In a casino setting, I'd probably lean towards killing UTG's hand as this is was a rather extreme infraction as opposed to 2-3 people acting OOT which is the line for substantial action. In a pub/less serious setting, I like limiting them to call or fold.
Many thanks.
Based on what you explained to me, I made a list of the stats that interest me and I'm looking for articles and videos related to them.
I'm going to take a look at the articles you mention.
Thank you. As I mentioned above, I did use Import > Clean and Rebuild Statistics. Now it is working again.
I would jam turn ap. If he has FH you lose either way.
You probably want to cbet this one. Most Tx don't even call pf sqz in these positions.

Yeah I’ll let him nit fold and wait for aces. But if I can sneak in a needle for the whole table to hear and acknowledge not to give the nit any action I sure ****ing will. You sound like a nit and I’d probably do the same to you.
Well how gracious of you to let this man use his hard earned money the way he wants.
If i ever berate someone thats directly IP to me for being too nitty I hope someone just puts one between my eyes, because I mustve succumbed to brain worms.
Anyone play the first event today ? How well did the seating assigning go ?
A dealer told me they know poker players with carpal tunnel syndrome just from shuffling chips all day. I started trying not to shuffle chips all the time after I heard that, but it's a tough habit to break.
I've seen card protectors that spin like a flat top. That might be an option for you.
I would of left the table a long time ago - why you wanna be deep against the only guy on your left and have a bunch of short stacks on your right? You need a reason to stay at table like this - and being readless, I don't see one.
As played it's honestly a coin flip - can't fault you for calling, but i'm just folding turn and leaving the table.
Ah yes, 2p sounds right
3 of a kind plus 2 of a kind = a full house, which beats your hand (a flush) by one rank but don't be pissed for losing 25 cents that's poker.
Anyone wo believes in reincarnation should say "yes". More generally anyone believes in dualism should say yes. If you believe in heaven you should also. I don't understand why that isn't clear.
Expecting most people to see what I was getting at, my follow up post would be about the fact that the people who argue about abortion are both on the opposite sides of what might be expected. Because if God can put a particular "soul" inside of any fetus, it's no big deal if one is discarded before it ev
I don't understand.
I'm not an expert in biology so I don't know but I would assume no.
3bet from blinds too low, esp BB.
I have played that 25z pool for fun like 10k hands sample and know for sure that you can steal a lot wider than GTO otb and in the SB, so take however you want.
Thank you . Wiill PM him.
I fell for this on 25z UTG vs BB srp on K53r with AA.
x B30 call
Turn 5
BB jams like 10x pot
I snap call he has KK.
Not really sure what to do here but I think i fold spots like these now unless i got top 2 or big pair + draw
As an investment you're better off utilizing the money as an investment into something else as these cars' value would decrease over time.
pretty terrible take. Do you understand the costs of not having a car?
older cars are built better
9k-12k price point
my f150 literally marks its territory with gasoline down the highway with a 62 mile commute (31 + 31 )
the gas savings will cover the payment as long as continue to work there
but in general i keep hitting this same choice regardless of the model vehicle
same value...1 is older w low miles 1 is newer w higher miles
would you rather have the newer version with cooler tech and better body style but the engine has been run harder? or vice versa... ( no nissan versas please )
give back the truck, you dont need that headache
I would not buy a car with that high of miles - I think the sweet spot would be something with say 40k-70k that has been depreciated heavily already but yet still has plenty of miles left without big repairs. Over 100k it's anyone's guess what will happen and depends how the vehicle was taken care for - too risky imo and the car prob looks like a pile of junk anyways
over 100k isnt a big deal anymore, change water pump and thermostat and youre good
How much do electronics matter to you? I had a 2013 car for a long time that lacked a backup camera, CarPlay, etc. All things being equal I prefer to have that stuff, which I'm guessing you'll get with the 2019.
this is most important questions
Id get the less mileage car if electronics dont matter to you. Check crash ratings via wikipedia if you really cant decide
I've always thought 'no limit' games with a cap seemed really silly, but this takes the cake. A cap on total betting which is easily reached in the first betting round? A poker game where you can't bet your hand after you make it, and you can't really bluff
If players insist on having a cap, wouldn't it make more sense to have an individual cap on each street?
You see CAPs in big bet games when they are played as part of a mix typically.
As hand was played, I think it’s a clear D1.
