This now stands for this thread:
Trooper97 vlogs, discussions etc. will be allowed to continue in the new thread. That thread will not be unchained and I will work with the other LVL mods to keep it civil.
I personally am not going to allow a lot of the horrible posting that went on in the original thread to take place and I will be very generous with post deletions and bans if needed.
Posts the are overly derogatory, mean spirited, name calling (including using rude derivatives of names) , and demeaning posts towards any of the vloggers or posters in the thread will be deleted at the mods discretion. If any accounts persistently do this they will be banned or exiled from posting in this thread. In these cases we may issue a warning first.
Accounts that are used only to or substantially to troll post in this thread will be banned.

Update April 2018

OK Vlogger Thread, we are going with some new parameters to try to make this the POSITIVE vlogger thread that it is supposed to be, not the AIDS vlogger thread where a few loonies ruin it for the rest. Note that 'positive' does not equal 'only positive', it means anything negative being said CAN'T be namecalling or wild, unsubstantiated speculation regarding any and all vloggers. Personal lives and anything aside from poker is OFF THE TABLE.

A new update March 2019:
NO ****ING POLITICS!
Enjoyed troopers last vlog, prob for the first time since I originally watched his vlog and the first couple years in Vegas. Introspective as much as he can be, reminiscent on his time.
I agree. He's more likeable now that he's no longer pretending to be something that he's not. I mean his whole narrative of how he outgrew poker is total BS. He just can't admit that he wasn't cut out for poker, but I guess that shouldn't be a great shock to anyone. At least he has found something more productive, even if it is just piggy-backing off LTs business idea.
It was interesting him talking about wanting to do 3 farmers markets per week and being able to sell up to $800 candy at each market. I guess that proves the point that they are paying zero regard to the 35k sales ceiling imposed on cottage industry businesses. Not to mention all the candy drops he does on the strip and at the Westgate. Who knows if the shipping department is really closed or not. I have a hunch that regular customers who were having candy shipped before would still be catered to just not directly via the Sprkli site.
Regarding his tell I think it highlights how little importance should be given to tells in a single session by people you’ve never played with before.
Yeah this sort of a tell would be very player dependent.
Some players like Rice for whom bluffing is completely contrary to their nature. They only want to put money in a pot when they have the nuts, so if they do anything that indicates reluctance it's a good chance they are bluffing.
For aggressive players who have no problem bluffing it's more likely to indicate the opposite (if anything at all)
I had to rewind and listen to it about three times to make sure I heard it right because it was so stupid.
Indeed it's just crazy that that's how he's thinking about promos. It bears reposting with the time stamp. Fast forward to 2:39 to hear how someone who dominated academics thinks it's better to not win a lot of small pots so you don't pay more into the promo fund. It's even crazier that someone named Rich thought this and Diesel seems to agree.
These are the regs in the Vegas player pools that Trooper, Bikeking and Pman can't beat. Lol.
^^ Beating $1/3 for > $10/hr does put you in the top 3% for sure.
You would be wrong. Look at the last day where he won 3 hands but only paid $1 into the promo fund. He's on record saying it's bad to win small pots cause you likely pay the max $2 promo drop but win a small profit. If you win lots of small pots, you may pay more into the promo fund than you could realistically recover.
Imagine playing a little over 2 hours and out of the three pots you won which is already insane, two of them were preflop.
lol, yep I was about to say that, looking at the bottom row.
Rice flipping out over hand sanitizer dispensing stations disappearing in strip casinos. He must have been using them to fill up bottles for himself, just like how he steals condiments/serviettes/utensils everywhere he goes. It's the nomad way to stock up on anything that is free. You never know when you will need something when on the road travelling.
So that's why there's never paper towels in the bathrooms.
This gets said but it's meaningless. People don't make a living or a career out of playing 1/3. I know Rice does, but normal people don't.
Any successful pro will move up to at least 2/5. Being in the top 3% of 1/3 players just because you play tighter than all the recreational players and bad regs is not something to be aiming for or proud of. All the good regs have moved up in stakes, and then there's Rice who is proud of being the only permanent 1/3 "pro" because he is happy living well below the poverty line
A company with the number of employees that Sahara has is required by law to offer health insurance to employees working over 30 hours per week.
Of course, if they are like most Corporations they probably play it off as how kind and generous they are for, you know, obeying the law and operating legally. That, and making sure part time employees always work 29 or less hours a week.
Just another thing the awful going to completely destroy America horrible ObamaCare introduced.
Only if they're employees and not independent contractors,
Someone called him out on it in today’s video to which he replied “it will always be Bally’s to me.” Just now watched his short video about the hand sanitizers disappearing and he probably said “Horseshoe” 5 times and didn’t say “Bally’s” once. I think we’re being trolled…
Nah, it's because it's a short. Those are supposed to be mass appeal and hope to hook the viewer into watching the main videos.
Maybe I need to start calling it MGM because that's what it was before it was sold to Bally's.

Maybe they plan to take the summer off.
Trying to operate a poker room with independent contractors would be a clown show, if not impossible.
But yeah, point taken. And only if they are people and not robots and only if they are operating in the United States and not on the moon and only if the dealers are working for a wage.

i need to start playing again. is this at those indoor courts by palace station ?
No that’s the “tark” or tarkanian indoor something or other. There’s a Facebook group with this guy DJ who organizes games there though, if you look on there it’s easy to find. It’s pretty good though, I’ve played a couple times, everyone’s nice, makes sure everyone plays, some people are better than others
In today's video Diesel explains why he doesn't like online poker. He is afraid of getting cheated, first of all he would not be playing similar stakes as live, 200nl with 1/2 blinds, he would get destroyed, so he would be playing much smaller and I doubt he would be getting cheated at those lower levels.
He doesn't like HUD's because he has a supercomputer mind that remembers everything and doesn't like people taking notes to remember things months later or HUD telling you info.
He says it's incredibly boring, maybe he could play more than 1 table. lol

Curious, at public courts in Chicago during the last century, your 5 (full court) or 3 (half court) called, "next". An informal system that worked well about 40 years ago, did it fall out of favor ?

Short answer, yes. Too much politics and arguments with I got next. As you get older having a game where you know how many will be there, someone managing those who are a challenge and booting them out, limiting arguments well worth it. Parallels can be drawn to growth of private poker games over past few years vs casino.
I’ve played in a private hoops game at a local HS for over 20 years. Used to play more than that, now once per week is enough. Wouldn’t want to show up to a YMCA and try to navigate that.

He misses out the part about him being unable to beat any stakes online.

And saying he raises with rags a lot- amazing stuff.
Rags to him is everyone folds to his button, he raises KJ to 15 and prays for folds from the blinds.
