All of palestine is military

You've convinced me

Not all of it, just the schools, hospitals, refugee camps, etc.

You can point out the absurdity of Hamas' position and recognize Israel is prosecuting the war absolutely horrendously.

yes its absurd to desire the barest of basic human rights

You can

The rape denying antisemites cannot

Basic human rights—like the right to exterminate the Jews.

Genocide vic never quits.

Genocide vic never quits.

I don’t know if Vic supports that. I think Israel is telling people it has the right to exterminate Palestinians due to Hamas

by Luciom

I admittedly lol'd

by metsandfinsfan

There's no genocide

Israel doesn't want the land. Israel is trying to get rid of Hamas. There have been civilian casualties along the way. How many? Who knows we aren't counting any of them as military in victors eyes

All Israelis over 18 are military. All gazans are civilians

I mean i guess by those rules, sure it's a genocide

by PointlessWords

as a teacher at a high school, do you think you are better educated, educated equally, or less educated than professors at universities?

If israel wants to make everyone in gaza a target, they should help gaza have required military service, just like Israel does.

I don't think education level is relevant and I'm a college professor with a Masters in ME Studies.

by Luciom

Hamas isn't democratically governing that country, did you miss that part?and Israeli being pro Hamas *actively* should be removed from civil society yes, obviously. executed or life no parole, that's actually a detail, you know my preference, but I am open to the other idea.Speech in war can be action, and so limited. the 1a in war is limited in the American constitution as we

Are you calling Gaza a democracy or not?

by Dunyain

Israel isn't fighting Hamas, it is fighting the Islamist Palestinian people of Gaza, who are intent on reconquering Israel at all costs. Hamas is just their will.
.

You're the MVP of this thread.

300,000 civilians died in the iraq war

I think Lancet has it around 120,000

by metsandfinsfan

I was commenting that to win a war, there's going to be a lot of civilian casualties. It's a war

At what point is the civilian casualty number unacceptable? There has to be a red line somewhere.

Really good overview of Iran's attack:

asymmetric flaccidity

by Schlitz mmmm

asymmetric flaccidity

Indigenous blood makes you hard doesn’t it

engorged, relative to the flaccidity of others

"The U.S. has an advanced AN/TPY-2 X-band radar stationed at Har Qeren, in the Negev desert.

Its mission is to detect Iranian missile launches, and pass targeting data to Israeli Arrow and David’s Sling and U.S. THAAD ABM batteries deployed to protect sensitive Israeli sites, including Dimona and the Nevatim and Ramon air bases.

Iranian missiles struck both Nevatim and Ramon air bases.

The best surveillance radar in the world, working in concert with the most sophisticated anti-missile defenses in the world, were impotent in the face of the Iranian attack.

For all those trying to spin yesterday’s events as an Israeli victory, chew on that fact:

The best missile defense system in the world could not protect the sites they were tasked with protecting from attacks by Iranian missiles.

Who has deterrence supremacy?

It ain’t Israel."

I call bs

Iran's leaders said shortly after the Damascus strike that they would "punish" Israel.
Israeli officials reported that a 7-year-old Bedouin girl was seriously injured by missile fragments and eight other people were treated for minor injuries from shrapnel or running for shelter during the attack.
Israel also said one of its air bases received slight damage.

If you don’t know, you haven’t been laying attention. He clearly supports that.

Israel isn’t saying that. At all.

This war, and the Palestinian causalities, are on Hamas.

I think it's sad that the pws and victor really do believe Israel wants to murder all the Palestinian people

I'm not sure they are acting in good faith tho

Pw using the word semite in that context to act like they were there first is disingenuous

By the way the ROMANS changed the name from JUDEA to Palestine to try to erase the Jewish presence in the land. It was Emporer Hadrian

Vic and pw would like him. They too are truly to erase the Jewish Presence from the land

How does Iran's attack on Israel impact the fate of Saudi normalization?

For sure, the narrow window still open to get something big done before the US elections will slam shut – with no assurance of when it might open again, especially if Biden loses and there’s no Democratic president to whip his party (the majority of whom are no fans of the kingdom) behind a deal.

This past weekend’s events have provided MBS with a powerful reminder of all he has to gain from moving forward boldly. A US-Saudi defense treaty and nuclear partnership, together with Israeli-Saudi normalization, would trigger a strategic revolution in the Middle East and consolidate the kingdom’s security and well-being for decades to come. Few more powerful blows could be dealt to the Iranian axis. Whether it gets delivered will largely depend on the decisions that MBS makes in the next few weeks.

not all of them! presumably they need some workers to exploit.

I find it sad to stream Israeli tiktok and twitter and see that exact sentiment over and over.

remember, earlier in this thread I would not have believed it.

Talk is likely no fighting vs Iran for Passover, so nothing should happen any time soon. War cabinet likely wants to give Israelis Passover with their families.

But also hearing that Israel may go the Game of Thrones route here and use this as an opportunity to get normalization and an alliance that looks like USA-Israel-Egypt-Saudi-Jordan. They were genuinely surprised by the extent of support from their new allies.

Think they'll still wind up going after Hezbollah. And the consensus is maybe stuff will mysteriously blow up in Iran over the coming year(s). Maybe the UAV factories for example (which also helps Ukraine).

Biden must be champing at the bit for a big move here to make up for Afghanistan. You can sort of see the outline of something forming. It's interesting because Trump submarines normalization. Maybe Israel gets an outcome they like either way come November.

lol Ukraine cant be helped at this point

lol Ukraine cant be helped at this point

blatantly false

Wow this next forever war is even dumber than the last one.

Hamas latest proposal

Stage 1 6 weeks
Israel withdraws completely. People move back to North unimpeded. Hamas looks for hostages
Stage 2 6 weeks
Hamas releases x hostages in exchange of 30x prisoners. They don't know what x is
Stage 3
Whatever hostages are left are freed for 30x prisoners. Israel still is withdrawn. Hamas stays in power and begins planning their next attack on Israel

In case you aren't sure

Israel is going to reject that
