Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD
Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...
These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.
To reiterate some of the points:
1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.
2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.
3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.
4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.
5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.
If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.
Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
Gentiles opposing genocide =/= supporting a caliphate just as being Jewish =/= supporting genocide
We should all agree on this
Hell, I've said itt that I oppose a ceasefire and maybe have said that I oppose two states. What I oppose is leaving Hamas in power and perpetual apartheid.
Leaving Hamas in power is insane, but what Israel has done over the last six months (and 60 years) is also insane.
Israel can't determine who is in power in Gaza and bombing them until Hamas doesn't exist cannot be done without killing 100k+ people and probably 200k or 300k+. Your conditions leave no possible solution.
There are things Israel could have done that involved violence that were not going to kill a massive number of innocents and targeted some Hamas leadership. That's not what happened obviously. But that still can't eliminate Hamas. And anything following Hamas? Is what?
No. Israel and the international community have to deal with who is in front of them and not try (and certainly fail) to impose a government on Gaza.
If there are ever settlement negotiations between Palestinians and Israelis, what if Palestinians say "no, there has to be an entirely new Israeli government. We can't even negotiate with a government that has done this"?

We agree that the genocide of Gaza is unacceptable, but is there no aggressive response to 10/7 that is acceptable by the IDF? Are you opposed to the extrajudicial assassinations of Hamas operatives? Or just a general ground invasion to eliminate Hamas?

There will never be adequate settlement negotiations toward two states. The status quo is too extreme.

Assassinations of leadership is the least unacceptable violence. They are the people most responsible.
Everyone relax, this latest generation of higher learning have everything under control.

Same thing that would have happened in WW2 if the Japanese had demanded the United States needed a new government before they would negotiate or the French had demanded it from Germany. They will get told to pound sand. Losers in military conflict are in no position to make demands. Either they keep fighting or they surrender.
Survival of the fittest, Holmes.
The gulag was part reeducation, part your-reeducation-isn't-a-priority-so-conform. They saw beyond the horizon a spector of post-truth advocacy in this precious freeze peach of ours.(see Alex Jones, Q-anon, etc.)
When's the last time some dissident freeze peach turned you on? Reap, America.
You have to negotiate with leaders. Often horrible ones.
Assassinating the leaders of other sides generally makes things much worse.

Essentially the Israelis have not got an exit strategy and are not likely to come up with a good one, so that is a concern.
I'm not going to respond to that other than to say I'm not responding to that, not because I think it's a good point, but because the conversation I think is counterproductive for the stop the killing side. It's another thing that's not about 40000+ dead people.
Almost as bad as pointing out antisemitism
False narrative guise!
Ben Carson supports Trump
The media is advancing a false narrative of ‘rising racusm’ by ignoring black Trump supporters
Did i do it right?

Do you think that Black people were sometimes dismissed or their loyalty was questioned because they supported Trump? What do you think about that?
