Daniel Negreanu's very own containment thread. All things Danny go here
how bad must he be when a girl falls asleep while making out and snores right after?
life fish..... food arrived but didn't eat it....
o well atleast the girl grinded him on the rails of a club, almost got kicked out for grinding? Kappa
Im really good because I was born on a lucky star. I think relying on luck is way nicer than relying on “skill” because some skills could he considered advantage play and thats bad.
This information was gathered by astrology gpt. Someone should see how lucky the stars were for Daniel.
I like that part in the vlog which is just Daniel smiling along with Phil Ivey. No hands, no table talk, just two middle aged men, who grinded together as young men, made it, kept it, and now they are still enjoying their game.
Frankly motivating **** to aspire to.
Anyone else notice that Blez called Daniel one of the top tier PLO players? Is he just blowing smoke or what? Also interested to see whether he just uses the footage where Blez is criticizing him in a big hand.
iirc, he Said that in plo he thought Ivey was best and then Daniel. Presumably he meant at the table, but given the other players at the table he definitely was implying Daniel is a killer at plo.
Daniel second biggest stack with five remaining in the PPC. Let the sourness rain down on this thread all day and into the aftermath.
Not sure why everyone keeps saying things like this. As I've mentioned before in this thread the vast majority of people are rooting for him / entertaining vlogs. I haven't seen any sourness in here since his performance yesterday. I'm looking forward to him taking it down today.

Which is why we root for them. After all of these years, all the fame and money they keep grinding if for nothing more than the love of the game. The game we all love.
I think he also took on Doug because he was tired of the sniping. It's the old adage about dealing with a bully: sometimes, taking one good swing back at the bully will get them to knock it off. In this case, one can argue that was exactly what happened.
He sure put the bully in his place when he gift wrapped him a million dollars.

Thread is filled practically to the brim with haterade. That's why. Just read since the WSOP began for a taste.

Nah not really. When he says stuff that is simply not true pointing that out isn't haterade.
He's obviously an very good all around player but isn't an elite player in 2024.
When he says absurd **** like he's great at plo he's gonna get called out on it.
Fact stating is hating.
I think he's had a winning year just about every year, seems like he might have had one losing year recently but dont trust my memory to be certain.
Regardless, the point is he's deep rolled and more experienced than I'll ever be and people are SO much better than at the beginning of the boom, it just seems like a huge waste of time UNLESS you really love poker and want to grind online, live, solvers, coaching, etc, which I don't. I tried to go pro in the late 1990's and considered trying again in the 2,000's when online started but the more I played, the less I liked playing. I also found it depressing trying to multi table online or going to Vegas solo (didnt have any poker friends and everyone thought I was a gambling attic, lol). It can be a lonely existence that I discovered I'm not cut out for but I still enjoy watching those that do play but the game is no longer as exciting and mysterious as it seemed to me when I first discovered it. Plus there were so many hilarious characters in the late 1990's, early 2,000's, the evolution of the game seems to have killed that type of player
I feel like I've fallen so far behind, it would take an enormous amount of time to get to the point where I MIGHT eke out a little edge and that edge seems to be shrinking for everyone day by day. When I watch all these vloggers playing huge cash games, I scratch my head wondering where they think there edge is coming from. Perhaps its there but playing against other good pros seems like a losing strategy. Mariano seems pretty talented with lots of heart but I'm just an arm chair QB so what do I know. As the saying goes, if you cant spot the sucker......
Idiots
Ok, I guess ill do it my self, although i did hit a minor snag in regards to one of the inputs, its very close:
For today, i wish that man good luck
😀
yimyammer, I fell wayy behind after 2016. Since then things have been getting easier. Anyone can learn this stuff including you. I see genuine softening online. Nows as good a time theres ever been to get into poker since 2010.
which is where danny deserves credit. Instead of saying I won millions during the boom, now im going to go play golf maybe do a couple speeches and write a book, he put in the work to play post boom poker so he can still compete because he does care about the game. A real player wont quit.

Right...the next thing you're gonna do is invite me to your home game
Just joking, thats good to hear, maybe I'll get a second wind and try again someday, thx for the 311.
I miss being excited about the game. There was a time when I was insatiable and would fly solo to Atlantic City and Vegas to get my fix. It was so fun except when the only game was limit in the late 1990's and all the Vegas pros kicked my ass. Limit HE tilted the hell out of me, for some reason no limit never did.
I still have fond memories when the WSOP was at Binions, there was something cool and grimy about that place that made it endearing. I'll never forget sitting in the metal bleachers with only one other person (a reporter) watching Seidel and Chan play heads up for a ring, no one was even paying attention!
I remember the first time i went to a casino in 2007.
Not the right thread , but youre going to have to do some painstaking work on your game for a couple of months that would be easily worth it if you already love poker.
If he busts 3rd or 4th, people here will say how bad he is. If he ships it, they will say he was lucky. I really don't know of anyone who has one this who wasn't an incredible player. Like the first winner, Reese, and the Grinder and Jungleman, who have won it more than once.

If you read the astrological profile, its pretty obviously luck and skill. so both.
You can learn many things from astrology even if it isnt popular on twoplustwo. Millions of people around the world seek its consul.
I wonder if the stars will align for Daniel tonight? I plan on looking out at the texas sky to detetmine his fate.

Brian Rast has won the PPC three times, tying Michael Mizrachi. Cates' two wins are especially remarkable for being back to back.
How come Amanda never rails him on these Pokergo streaming tables
There's a pretty big difference between being on the rail earlier on in a tournament when a particular player happens to be on stream. Playing in the WSOP is Daniel's every day job during the summer, and it would be strange for your wife to just show up at your job to watch you do it unless it's a major occasion. If she actually did want to follow his play closely, it's easier to do watching PokerGO than being on the rail, and I don't think any player knows exactly when they are going to be on a streamed table in any case (prior to the final table obviously).
