Dark Brandon is going to cancel the election now as an official act and wait for a lower court to decide it was a bad idea.

Just make sure he doesn't say to protest peacefully and patriotically. We indict that.

The guys put in a huge effort yesterday and were able to maintain seperation. SPC wound up having to seek shelter and wait out the storms.

Sometime after leaving town, I turned onto Gans Road. I don't know how it feels in the daytime, but at night and wet, it felt too difficult and dangerous for me to bike. Loose gravel, big embedded rocks, and a rutted and uneven surface. I dutifully got off and pushed my bike, feeling surprised and a bit peeved since I thought it was all rail trail paradise til the finish.

I planned to bike through the night, but the rain picked up, and I was having serious visibility problems. I've learned to keep my sun sleeve down around my wrist and wipe the lenses one-handed, but that wasn't enough. So when I saw a covered bench, I laid down on it for 3-4 hours waiting for the rain to pass.

Eventually it did, at least mostly, and I made it to Ohiopyle where I'm having a breakfast burrito. Only 0-1 sleeps left to finish this thing, I think!

emotions starting to come out.

Can't control the weather or conditions. Sounds like the smart play. Glglglglglglgl and gogogogo SPC!

My 3.5 day line is looking solid. I was hoping she was going to beat out the two guys, but it looks like they are out of reach … unless they take a sleep and she goes balls to the wall.

Go SPC go! Thanks for sharing that video, squid!

she's lulling them into a false sense of security

So SPC lost her main light back in washington, its spoda do well in rough terrain and never rattle free. It was specifically purchased for this event. Her back up died a a few days ago. Her final double secret extra back up is not doing well - flickering and generally sucking. Her headlamp works but she is on a canal that is bug infested and they are swarming her face resulting in significantly less cycling enjoyment when she wears it. SPC is conceding the chase and going to sleep in the next town.

Here we go SPC! Home stretchin it

The ol’ rope-a-dope. Love it.

just found out there's going to be a demolition derby about 40 minutes from me this saturday, so obviously pumped

So proud of SPC. She is doing great. Thanks a lot for letting us share in her adventure.

So proud of SPC. She is doing great. Thanks a lot for letting us share in her adventure.

It has been an incredible adventure for spc. She is sad that it is drawing to a close and is already looking foreword to her next ride which will be https://www.bigskyspectaculaire.com/ in mid august. SPC is looking foreword to building on her off road skills which were severely lacking at the beginning of this event.

She entered this with no intentions of racing. Her goal was quailty time in zone 2 in prep for the 24hr attempt and a fun adventure. She has gotten approx 80hrs/week in the saddle over the past 4 weeks, maintained proper nutrition, slept well, and strung together consecutive 24 hr pushes deep into the event. These events take a serious toll on most competitors. She looks like she could bang out a bunch more miles if she wanted to. About 2 weeks in she realized she could race this thing and had a great time competing with those close to her.

@rickroll - you should take a peek at the big sky ride and come on out and ride if its interesting to you. The guy running it is ossum and it is a well run event

i've been looking into it a lot

902 miles is definitely something in my wheelhouse and something i know i can do whereas had legit concerns my body would breakdown on the other one given how out of shape i'm in currently just sitting down and staring at computer screens all day every day

love that it's a course that is not a "we'll figure it out along the way"

love that their website is chock full of information instead of just a landing page with dead links like the other one

been checking out the times of prior years, the winners do not mess around, the pace people are doing is insane, i think 5 days is the average winner time or somethign, i would probably take a little under 2 weeks to do it nice and casually

will 100% bring my fly rod and stop to catch and cook along various trout streams that i cross

would probably see spc at the start, eat her dust and then see her crossing the finish on instagram while i'm not even halfway done

My pup passed this morning. He was and old man, around 14.5. I knew we didn’t have long as he had some health issues and we’ve had two scares over the past 6 weeks. Yesterday he did pretty well and was up and about a bunch (for him), ate, made, followed the kiddos as they ran around in circles, etc.

Around 1am I heard him stirring around and took him outside. He made and seemed “ok”. Around 3 he was up and moving around again and this time kind of seemed a little disoriented so I carried him to our room and sat with him until he fell asleep.

I woke up around 6 to a noise that sounded like a scream but with little breath behind it. He had a few poops on and around him and was laying on his side pretty out of it with his tongue hanging out and a few random spastic movements with one of his legs.

We are not at home so I had to google some nearby clinics and vets but the only one open was around an hour away.

I sped there, averaging 20-25 mph over the speed limit but it didn’t matter. I’m not sure when, but he passed on the way there. I can only hope it was peaceful.

Miss you bud.

so sorry to hear, Cleveland. 14.5 years is a great run. Glad you had as much time with him as you did.

I'm so sorry to hear, Miami. Best to you and your family.

Sorry Miami. Nothing worse. 14.5 years is a good run and I know you gave him a really good life

I hope he rests in doggy peace forever

sorry to hear that miami, i actually attended an ash scattering for my sister's dog today

Im sorry to hear about your family's loss Miami.

Thank you- I was lucky that I had more than 14 years with him.

You going to be able to make it to DC in time to give SPC a high-five at the finish line, squid?

Miami, deepest sympathies.

Tough loss Miami - sorry to hear

Biking self supported cross country is mind blowing - nice werk SPC

Garick - I was planning on being there. I am a little banged up and have been rehabing but had a setback about a week ago and unfortunately will not be at the finish line. The good news is spc has a bunch o dc based pals who will meet her at the finish and celebrate.

Ace - I owe you some virtual $. Looks like all things being equal spc will arrive just before midnight. Ive been on the phone with her quite a bit today and the emotions are starting to uncork. She does not want the adventure to end (she really is kinda twisted i think).

@rickroll - the dude that runs the Big sky is a local montana boy and is very proud of the event and works hard every year to make it better. World beaters compete in it but there are people that ride it like you want to. His goal is to make the event fun. There are no trophies or prizes. You get time bonuses for stopping and eating local pies. It should be a great time

Sorry for your loss miami. Sucks every time.

Time bonus for eating pie sounds right up my alley.
