that goes for most of you guys in the pen, don't know where most of you are but i'll be taking a long and meandering path from maine to seattle this fall (90% to stop and do that ride in montana along the way) with planned stops in nh, vt, mass, nyc, philly, columbus, stl, ozarks, kc, detroit, denver, co springs, vegas, reno, etc along the way so if any of you guys want to get some some food, drink some whiteclaws, or just take my money in poker let me know and i'll see if we're ever going to be

No Atlanta? No Nashville? GTFO.

by SABR42 k

I quit private games a while ago.

I had a $650K upswing followed by a $250K downswing but I also squandered a ton of money doing stupid **** and also am owed a bunch of money that I'll never get back so I came out of it basically no better than where I started. It sucks.

That ****ing sucks.

i may visit nashville actually, atlanta is incredibly unlikely but if your sex dungeon has good wifi i could be sold on it

If you give me enough heads up on Nashville, I may be able to be in the area that week. I am up there for work routinely. The fall is a little tricky due to my basketball season, but I might be able to make it work.

Sadly, no WiFi or cell reception in the dungeon. Just a coincidence I assure you.

I guess it's not totally true that I got nothing out of it. I do have a bigger car collection now.

Honestly it could be worse. Yeah I blew some money dating hot women and doing drugs, it was a good time at least.

Did you hear the personal is political?

I used to play in fairly big private games in the DC area - not getting paid can be a real risk and painful. Fortunately I mostly played in games where the host/owner stood behind the dollars. When we moved I stayed in touch with some buddies and was talking to one. When I asked how he was doing he said "well I've been winning but my accounts receivable are over 100k". Unfortunately he never got most of it.

I discovered you can play Ticket to Ride online. I haven't been this addicted since Bughouse chess.

are we still talking bout skip's dungeon?

How is everyone? Still in Texas. Dying to get back to Vegas or Philly. Should be outta the south by the holidays.

Had a bad health issue earlier this year. Wasn't really deadly but I spent a week in the hospital (best week in a long time. Wanted to stay longer.)

Has anyone ever used a virtual mental health app?

Starting a new job this week. Looking forward to it. Hated this last one and the entire DFW area. Very insiderish area. At least the Stars and Mavs came up short while I was here.

Hope all are well

Hey Chip, good to hear from you.

I am 100% opposite on the hospital thing. I get bored out of my gourd and feel like I'm in prison. Can't wait to get out. Still, glad you enjoyed it and glad your health is better now.

I am curious about the sublties of the effects you have experienced from hrt:
personality impact
the way you see the world
sleep/dreams
really anything that you have noticed. Has there been anything that you did not expect or anything you expected that did not happen?

i don't know if it matters at all, but the costs of those are so low because you're talking to a mental health counselor not a psychiatrist or psychologist

again, don't know if that makes them worse (or even better) but it's not cheap because of remote model, it's cheap because of the people you're talking to

11t - congrats on being able to do what feels right for you.

i have a mental health professional that i see through web appointments, but i don't think that is the same thing you are refering to

It is happening!

Like the social presentation is such a huge data point that it's tough to claim that HRT itself was the primary cause or isolate one from the other.

My personality is still the same, like I'm the same person; but I also had a kid.

Like HRT is obviously way different from taking gear as gear is an isolated system. I never took steroids (obvious jokes about my physique aside) but obviously learned at a high level the ramifications.

There have been zero downside effects. Feel like a million bucks. Look fantastic (sorry for the like the boast but I'm shocked).

Great entrance.

Powerlifting is full of fat guys on gear, tho.

Hi 11t,

I’d like to share my interaction with a trans individual that has provoked more thought in me than such a happenstance interaction should, and seek your opinion.

Let me start by saying I’m SO very happy for you that you’re in a place with your life and career that you can be your true and authentic self. Everyone should be able to find love, and love themselves, for whatever that looks like for them. Even (maybe especially) if that’s different than what it would be for me.

There’s a trans cashier at my corner gas station. I haven’t asked her preferred pronouns, but for our purposes here I’ll assume she prefers female. She wears a name tag that says “Rebecca,” she has long hair that’s dyed pink, wears a pride pin and the trans flag pin on her hat, appears to have surgically augmented breasts…

And a meticulously manicured full goatee.

…I have so many inappropriate and unnecessary questions.

Maybe she’s currently transitioning, and in the process of becoming who she wants to be? Maybe she’s being deliberately ambiguous and nonbinary about her gender identity, for her own purposes?

In such a customer-facing job, where she has to see hundreds of faces a day, does she get a rise out of evoking thoughts like this from cis strangers like me?

I worry, for the plight of trans people everywhere seeking broader societal acceptance, that this approach of the way she presents herself may do more harm than good.

Whatever’s going on between her legs, which of course is none of my business, it doesn’t affect her ability to ring up my beef jerky and energy drinks. So I’m polite and kind like I try to be to all strangers, and don’t ask anything.

Curious to hear your thoughts.

Rob sounds a little insecure that I'm stronger than him and could powerbomb him like a little bitch.

What the **** do I know about some cashier? I'm not their like representative.

Not to be a bitch.

Rickroll - u coming to the big sky event?

sure looks like it, finished up with the mid 90s univega and gave her a test ride today and other than some squeaky brakes, everything was fine

just need to throw some lights and panniers on that bad boy and we're good to go

timing is still a bit of an issue, i will stay in maine so long as extended family are up here visiting and my guess is early august

that'll give me roughly 2.5 weeks to get out to montana with some mandatory stops along the way (i have binder of winning betting slips I made over the winter that i need to go in and cash)

but it's looking very good right now - will also be wearing my dad's old vintage cycling gear, some of it probably from the 70s or 80s so that'll be fun

not going to be fast anyway so going for the whole vintage schtick should be a fun way to do the ride

where i currently live, the nearest gym is 30 min drive each way so i haven't been going - mostly just sitting or laying down all day looking at screens so very excited to finally get back in shape and hope to do a daily ride from now until the race

what you think of my sweet car and rust spot though?

Gonna need more pix but I would probably plug the rust hole before it gets bigger.
