“If you compare a legal business to an illegal business, the illegal business is a lot more shady” is not the W you think it is

It doesn't really matter because one thing has nothing to do with the other. Larry Flynt could be Satan.

Hitler supposedly designed the VW bug. Maybe urban legend but, assuming that is true, it doesn't follow that anyone who has owned a bug can never criticize anybody who is less bad than Hitler.

"Pretty rich saying you think Ted Bundy is a bad guy when you own a VW bug."

It's just an absurd argument, as is pointing out that we play poker with people who might have done immoral things. We can't interact or work exclusively with saints.

"How could you criticize Harvey W when you work at the same company as a guy who beats his wife?"

it’s a shame that all of this information has come out - whilst i thought that nick vertucci didn’t exactly come across as a stand-up person, i’m disappointed to see that he leaves behind him a slew of sexual harassment behaviour. i find it difficult to believe that he’s never had an opportunity to learn his lesson, and never thought critically about his actions and come to the correct conclusion.

nick will likely still have his fingers in the pie at HCL, but he needed to issue an apology days ago and step away from the public face of the production.

pokers always portrays itself as the “game no one can be cancelled in”, but we should strive to do better. right now we’re a bunch of aging men, often older and creepier at the recreational levels (where the game is kept alive) - younger people and especially women have a hard time wanting to get involved when our headline media personalities are doing this (for years poker has had awful role models, from criminals to sex pests to both).

unfortunately poker has a lot of scum in it. scum that perpetrates such actions, scum that is too self-centred to do anything about it because it will “affect their bottom-line”, scum who thinks it is perfectly reasonable to walk up women and harass/sexualise/abuse them unsolicited. i feel for their wives and daughters.

im not the most militant an activist in the real world either - these men are often much larger or more powerful than i am. i have tried making a stand at poker tables, but i received this glazed look like no one has ever told them “no” in their life.

LOL at anyone who defends this behaviour now. please continue playing online poker because we need more ******s fueling the economy, but stay the **** out of the live game. god forbid a woman has to talk to you.

The difference is nobody cares about some fat Armenian guy with a private game in the back of a dry cleaners who makes his dealers suck his dick before and after the game and people want to be the owner of the Wynn or Hustler Casino Live so it builds resentment and a desire to take them down.

You're making some really far-fetched analogies. Someone already said but if your business is justifying its actions by comparing itself to illegal businesses it's going to have some issues. In my experience it was literally easier to survive embezzlement/theft as a manger/owner/CEO then sexual harassment at a business. It's just really strict in corporate world because if they let it happen then lawyers start to make an argument that it's a culture of allowing unsafe work environments and it's a liability ****ing disaster and at some point you can't even get insured. Blizzard is another example. Dan Snyder was forced to sell the redskins because of it (and other issues). There's tons of examples it's not just something that has no repercussions. I've seen way less severe instances have really bad outcomes for the owner the business liability insurance refused to protect him so he was sued personally/pierced the corporate veil.

It has repercussions sure, but most of these cases are the product of spiteful and jealous women fueled by petty resentment and the cases get pounced on and amplified by opportunistic parasites wanting to claim something someone else has for themselves and there's no real victim.

Posting the stream clips before they're removed and waiting for the trolls to defend it is how to win the internet today

So Julia, who turned him down right away and called him out in the moment, is being spiteful and jealous? K.

Is this the same Nick Vertucci who told his friends of many years, that they have to player every single hand (or else they wouldn’t be invited back), and then only played KK+ himself?

Color me shocked.

by PugDolk k

it's just hypocrisy and calling it out for what it is. people will **** on Nick ITT then go and play with/in a game run by people far worse and not think anything about it, and admit to it, while still attacking Nick. if you want to claim some moral argument don't be a hypocrite. that's my point.

it's a stupid point. nobody gaf about the owner of a casino when they walk in to play and certainly not a dead owner. ZERO

Just Nick playing in games where he creates lineups where the players are incentived to play loose/less than optimal, and then insert himself in those games, without those same restrictions, already shows that he is someone who is not afraid to cross boundaries, and put himself in situations where there is a conflict of interest.

People defending Nick's actions as "flirting" are really oblivious here. Nick is in a position of power with these women. He holds the keys to something they want access to. And he is using that in his favour to pursue sexual favours.

The guy is a f*cking loser. Not to mention being a real estate seminar scammer. Nick is the type of person who doesn't belong in poker. Along with Skill Rocks, Mars and all the other scumbags he has brought onto his show.

Yup. The same Nick Vertucci who came on this very message board once and threatened people with violence. I read those posts before I knew he was a real estate seminar scammer and obviously a serial philanderer. Apparently his "tell" is his sheer existence. LOL everyone who willingly chooses to do business with him. He's an idiot, and a sociopath.

plz don't disrespect sociopaths. They wouldn't care this much what people think

Seriously, what a god damn pussy. Especially knowing that he's so anti cancel culture snowflakes. Don't tread on me

While he's shown himself to be a vain man with very thin skin, this is likely a preemptive purge of DMs that will come out in discovery, when the lawsuits start. He's not the sharpest tool in the shed. Obviously, there are likely many more victims.

What exactly are they going to charge him with though? Hitting on a girl through text?

I mean don't get me wrong....what he said was cringey and I could obviously see how it would make someone uncomfortable, but it's not like they are coworkers or he's her superior, she choose to continue playing in those games.

There are no charges per se as none of this rises to a criminal matter, but i think the likely civil lawsuit would come from Lauren who would allege a hostile work environment, wrongful termination, retaliation for being a whistleblower, etc.

The players who are not invited to play or who faced a hostile environment while playing would have a much tougher civil case.

Holy **** I didn't have me gaining some respect for Nick Airball on my 2024 bingo card yet here we are.

You think this is limited to the 3 people that are now known? This behavior likely spans a long timeframe. I don't know any of the details with the dealer, but if she was a whistleblower and got terminated, then there are a lot of dominoes yet to fall. From what we know, I doubt any criminal charges will happen, but it seems like civil lawsuits are imminent.

hard lol on the man who repeatedly called out cancel culture and being a real man and sticking up for yourself deleting their twitter because they can't take the heat

lliterally puts this at the beginning of all his youtube vids

such a tiny little fake man

Lol he is not in “position of power” even though he might try to be as the show runner. Women like Julia and Kitty are not his employees. They are his customers. They can get up and take their business elsewhere, which they did. You can’t send him to jail for being a creep with no game.

Lauren’s situation may be different because she is more like a co-worker or employee than customer.
