Stripping them is standard but why does the IDF keep taking pics of them and posting them after? Surely they realize the optics in play here.
The IDF has an astonishingly unprofessional army, which is why soldiers routinely upload photos of themselves going through the underwear of the people they've displaced. Don't think there's any first-world army out there where this wouldn't be a scandal. The optics are terrible, but it scarcely matters given the magnitude of the ongoing atrocities.
This is why we can't have nice things.
The issue with the personal attacks is that it inevitably devolves into the above type of exchange, and while we can all agree to disagree about the harmfulness of using "big boy" language, the problem with using it so liberally is that it causes these long derails between individuals who needs to rib and barb and get the last word in when it has no relevance to the content of the thread.
People should not have to read through these interpersonal contentless exchanges to be able to post on topic here.
Take a look at yourselves and ask if you're actually participating in a functional way for community debates. Seriously. This isn't about behavior so much as it is about efficacy and usefulness for *everyone*.

IRI has been trying to destroy Israel and threatening the US for 40+ years . For "reasons," starting with Obama the Democrat party thought the best way to deal with this was to appease the IRI. And the IRI used the space the Obama administration gave them to build and arm proxy armies throughout the region, that have been following through on the promise to destroy Israel and punish the US.
At some point we have to accept we cant appease the IRI. They are right wing theocrats fulfilling a sacred religious obligation in their minds. So we either have to let them (try to) destroy Israel or stop them. The last 40 years have shown there is no middle ground. Just kicking the can down the road.

I don't know. If they do, they're prone to thinking emotively and engaging in hyperbole due to being emotive, imo. And again I can't take them seriously.
If they don't, then they're deliberately using loaded hot button terms as a weapon, due to an apparent anti Israel bias. Either way, I can't take any argument seriously, particularly if it's the latter option as that's simply bad faith posting.
If it's the former though then they should state it's their belief or opinion that genocide and apartheid is what's happening, rather than asserting it, as if it's empirical fact.

I disagree with this. Victor got a month long ban and the mods have forbidden Nazi comparisons re the IDF. Infractions have been given when personal attacks are made, regardless of where it comes from. Mods can also be reasonable and understanding when it comes to potential misunderstandings of comments or intention and have shown an open mindedness and willingness to change their perception, so again, I disagree with you here. If you're specifically referring to CN, then I personally think she's actually very fair on a thread which is really not an easy or at time very pleasant one to mod.
