Trump 2nd term prediction thread
So, looks like Trump not only smashed the electoral college, but is looking on track to win the popular vote, which seems to be an unexpected turn of events, but a clear sign of the current temperature in the country and perhaps the wider world.
Would be interested to hear views on how his 2nd term will pan out from both sides of the aisle - major happenings, what he's going to get done, what he's not going to get done, the impact of his election on the current conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, whether his popularity will remain the same, wane, or increase, etc.
A bit of an anemic OP, I know, just interested to hear people's thoughts now that the election uncertainty is over.
BTW, for those who didn't know, Luckbox is indeed Hispanic, or Latinx or whatever it's called these days. Luckbox, are you a Latino or a Latina?
I'm going to make a perfect pepperoni pizza later and then my skinny ass is going to sleep like a baby tonight. And hopefully RFK and trump don't take away my god given right to good pizza dough 😀
pizza Is kinda dangerous vs other carbs because it's 00 flour (too processed, too finely milled), max elasticity but it loses all nutrients.
can eat it occasionally but shouldn't be a staple source of calories across the month.
then ofc it depends on what you put on it. mozzarella is fine (not the plastic one you find in the Usa for cheap though, the real one), tomato is fine (unless you have stomach acidity problems) , pepperoni (chili salami) can be ok depending on other digestive situations

No not at all. I'm brown and people often mistake me for being Latino and I'm pretty decent in Romance languages but my mom is like Italian/northern European and my dad black/French Indian
Lots of things that were considered hyper progressive/pure communism™ not all that long ago are now things conservatives and others just take for granted as regular old stuff 😀
difference for now is the communism wanted to use the violence of the state to force people to eat x or ban them from eating y, right-wing people don't as far as I know.
and anyway we still have the meat-vegan divide.
with communists hating meat and right-wing people hating vegan approaches.
as for the forced eating, everytime communists ban meat for a day for "vegetarian meal" in school or hospitals that's forced eating

Can you show us a school that has ever banned their students from eating meat? Note that this is different than simply not serving it.
Or do you think schools are banning spaghetti every day that they don't serve it?

Wait a minute. If some schools serve vegetarian dishes one day a week, that's communism? Are students allowed to bring their own lunches? And how is this communism?
when Switzerland banned eating lobster if you cook it alive, foie gras banned in California because poor geese are fed too much, do you want me to go on?
worm cheese in Sardinia banned because "health" and so on and on
Wow, I had no idea. Sounds like an existential threat to the human race to me, weird that more people aren't talking about it.

yes it's communism as the law forbids food to be brought in. that's the rule in Italy and I think several other countries in the EU.
not sure about the USA.
I am paying for meals where my kids eat perhaps 200 calories, often less, because non meat food requires higher quality to be tasty and satisfying and ofc school meals can't reach that outside of pasta in Italy.
if I could send the UberEATS requivalent in j would but I can't by law
I'm old enough(and not even that old) to remember when the rightwing nuts were calling organic food, weed and psychedelics among other things commie plots 😀
Even still there was a sliver of rightwingers who shopped at hippie food stores back in the day.

if you don't oppose it with full strength when it starts, there is no limit.
it was like that when the First income tax arrived at 2% or whatever.
it's like that every single time.
I can assure you, that is not the case in the USA. Nobody eats the school's food around here. Everyone brings their own or gets it delivered.
It would be comical to imagine a school trying to ban meat for a day.

The slippery slope of banning cooking live lobster and foie gras, I know, I know.
By the way, you realise this was out of animal welfare concerns, right? Lots of jurisdictions have laws against torturing animals, whether you eat them afterwards or not.

Conservatives are, at heart, terrified of change. It's the root of most of their misguided ideas.

The worm cheese thing was huge in Ireland. We thought it was a piss take until we found out people do actually eat it. So we had a national day of mourning for them and then got on with our lives, which mainly consisted of drinking in pubs and bitching about stuff while not doing anything to fix it.

Sounds like rAdIcAl lEfTiSm. First they come for your worm cheese, next you're bent over a barrel getting sodomised with a red hot poker. Stay vigilant bro.
