I think my favorite week every year is the week between Christmas and New Years. Especially when Christmas is on a Wednesday. It totally obliterates both Christmas week and New Years week. When I was a kid we were on Christmas break. As an adult I always took that week off, even when in the Navy I took Christmas leave except for one year when I was deployed. And even then it was holiday routine every day while in Palma Spain which wasn't horrible.

Anyway enjoy the holidays and drink and eat as much as humanly possible. Thats the way I am approaching it anyway 😀

its been a few years since I watch it... I have it sitting on the shelf.

I have never been able to keep anything in alphabetical order. I had about 1,000 books in three bookcases, rows double stacked, but I could find almost any book within a couple minutes.

I did keep dictionaries and my 30 or so books by and about close together.

Holiday season:

Christmas Eve, dinner at niece's house: about 13 people, including five young ones.

Christmas Day: Daughter's house. About 25 total. Mostly son-in-law's family, only four young kids.

Day After Christmas: In-laws. About 20, with only one grandchild in attendance.

Two Days Ago: Poker at Foxwoods for twelve hours, including drives. (Won 51 dollars.)

Today: Dinner at Brother's house, 18 with my and my two brothers's 7 grandchildren.

For the next month: Absolutely nothing but watching movies.

Great Christmas with sister and in-laws; including kids. Great food and fun games and movies. Since my sister lives only a few miles away , I didn’t have to travel. Now that’s a real blessing!

I really hope this is Red's bookcase.

it is not, but at work we have about half that many books and someone decided to sort by color.

I think we should appreciate that someone.

Since it is my personal holiday "Navy Day" (49 years ago today I entered the US Navy) I am sipping on cocktails and watching Navy movies. Just watched The Gallant Hours (Jimmy Cagney as Bull Halsey). Probably gonna fire up The Caine Mutiny next.
