2025 WSOP!!
I know it’s early and normally I’m not excited about WSOP this soon after but dang it, I’m itching to go back already!
I made some deep runs and cashed in 2024 but still feel unfulfilled by going home without some hardware on my wrist.
2025 is my year!!
Any thoughts on how the GG purchase might change it in 2025, if at all? I suspect it will be pretty similar to last year but with more online qualifiers, satellites, and events.
They seems to be changing all the time online (not unusual) . Currently (5 minutes ago ) the comped nights I could at I could get at the Horseshoe were only July 6th - 10th 5 nights total. But the non weekends was $13 per night. Now June is NOT comped at all.
NOW I can't any comped nights at The Cromwell from June 15 thru July 10th when I have 14 comped days already booked LOL.
Personally I just keep checking to see what the online rates are showing and if I can get a better deal than I hav
It’s a game of chicken and I don’t know that I’d try it in the Summer, but I booked my hotel last week for the Prime the day I flew out. The rates at MGM properties fell dramatically the week of the trip.

That is exactly what it is a moving crap shoot. I just cancelled my 2nd Cromwell Reservation for June 29 - July 11 to book the Horseshoe at the identical price. The Horseshoe rates for me are still DOUBLE for the first 12 days (at the moment) so I move across the street halfway thru the trip stay.
Its why I always tell people to keep checking - When someone figures out and explain to me what Caesars is going to charge at their various properties I will be all ears and educated.......... until then I just keep checking what the most recent deals are.
Just be sure to be prepared to patiently wait in long lines. So budget your time accordingly and try to register early for events (at least a day or two before, if possible).
But nothing beats the first time so good luck and soak it all in! It has an energy unlike any other tournament out there.
We might all have to be that patient if they don't give Diamonds special treatment. I might not even go if that's the case.
I guess this is a good time for my annual "if you want to avoid lines then reg the night before" post.
I've played quite a few WSOP events in the last 6 years and have only experienced long lines when attempting to register for a tournament that's already in progress. Best advice I can give to avoid waits is simply to buy your tickets the night before. I feel like 90% of the complaining about lines stems from operator error where people show up at the last minute and expect the Red Sea to part fo
That's if GG decides to have a 24 hour cage as well.
And 9 PM is no guarantee either. One year I went down at 11 pm to find a long line. I decided to try at 1 am. Where i was treated to a hilarious scene by Mike Matusow. This was before I became Diamond, so I couldn't see over to the other half of the registration area, but I could hear, and there's no mistaking Matusow's voice. He was trying to reg with Bellagio flags (they've always accepted Bellagio chips) and the cashier told him they would have to call the Bellagio to ask if Mike could possibly be a legit holder of Bellagio chips. I was rolling on the floor at the exchange between the cashier and Matusow. He never said "Do you know who I am" to his credit.
Honestly I have never stayed (walked thru it only ) there but they have valet and that's free for Diamond card holders. I have always stayed at the RIO or Horseshoe for the convenience of staying where the events are. But the last few years I play at so many more non WSOP events it's become slightly less important. Walking across the street (even as busy as E Flamingo can be) will only add 5 minutes tops to my time to hit the Ballrooms.
Last I looked the Horseshoe rates have dropped (due to c
They did a good job on the rooms. I went there several months ago so the casino was still being re-done.
Does anyone know which is better at the Flamingo, Go or Fab?

Yeah, it's a crapshoot. I knocked $100 off my June trip recently by just randomly checking the rates and canceling/re-booking.
One thing I find funny is how useless the WSOP-specific promo codes are. I tried using the "WSOP25" promo code today and the rates it yielded were significantly HIGHER than what I see through my standard search. The random default promos that seem to run 24/7/365 are typically going to get you a better price than the pathetic WSOP promo codes. I interpret this more as incompetence than malice on the part of CET, but a lot of rookies and neophytes may naively book with those WSOP codes and pay more than they actually would with no code applied, which is amusing.

Good to hear that - The rooms themselves are huge and I was lucky for all the years mine were always clean -just thread bare the last couple. The casino itself was a dark nasty dive for at least the last 3 years.

That is EXACTLY TRUE in my experience when checking pricing and has been for at least the last several years. Definitely "let the buyer beware"
I am planning to attend my first WSOP! Looking at the 2024 schedule, I'd like to play the Colossus and the Mini Main 1k, and be in attendance for the start of the ME to see that happen.
Is this typically a dead time for the rest of Vegas, because it's peak summer? I don't care about staying onsite, so I'd like to book somewhere a bit further away once the actual schedule drops. Or: should I guess at the timing based on the start of ME on Jul 2, and plan based on the last Colossus flight will start on the 29th?
I'm so excited.

I posted my estimate of the weekend events in another thread. This is based on patterns from the last few years:
1st Weekend (5/30-5/31) - $1k Mystery Millions
2nd Weekend (6/06-6/07) - Low budget mega field NLHE ala Gladiators, Housewarming, Big 50
3rd Weekend (6/13-6/14) - $1.5k Monster Stack
4th Weekend (6/20-6/21) - $1.5k Milly Maker
5th Weekend (6/27-6/28) - $400 Colossus
If your goal is to play Colossus and Mini Main, I would look at 6/27-6/29 as likely flight days for the Colossus, with the Mini Main likely running from 6/31-7/01. Main Event 1A will start on 7/02, that we know for sure.
I wouldn't say Vegas is dead in July, but it's very hot outside, which can limit the walkability even if you are relatively fit. During night time it will be business as usual. I was there for the 4th this year and it was jammed.

Huge thanks for this helpful information! See you on the 26th of June!

I believe your schedule is dead on, with Day 1A being on Friday except for the Mystery Millions which should have 1A on Thursday if it follows last year's pattern. I've already made reservations for the Horseshoe but it appears that Gold Coast rates look good by comparison; running a sale right now.

His dates may end up being correct, but some events have moved around in the previous years. I wouldn't book anything that can't be changed without a fee until the schedule is posted. Just sayin 😀
I stayed at the Gold Coast in 2018 (my first WSOP trip) and 2021 (the last WSOP at the Rio). I enjoyed the no frills old school vibe there. Perfectly decent place to stay if you have a car. Now that the WSOP is on the strip, I prefer to stay somewhere closer since I am always carless in Vegas. Horsehoe, Harrah's, LINQ, Flamingo, and Ellis Island have been some of my stays in the last few summers. All are fine. However, if I ever win a bracelet or make a final table at the WSOP, I might have to hit Ping Pang Pong in Gold Coast for my celebration dinner. That was always my late night spot after cashing tournaments at the Rio (usually some rinky-dink daily deepstack tournament).
I’ll be there again from 16-30th June, I hope for Milly Maker during that time and maybe the Colossus. Could work if the schedule them like last year.
Last year I had multiple options to stay in hotels like Horseshoe or PH (I just want a good location central Strip, don’t care about luxury) for around ~100$ per night incl. taxes and fees. This seems not possible this year and I’m checking every week since September.
Am I searching on the wrong platforms or is double the price this year the new standard? I don’t have any status besides Gold at Ceasars.

That exact time period is pretty expensive right now. I booked Cromwell back in November with 7 free nights ( I'm Caesars Diamond but nothing special ) but those deals are LONG gone now. The Weekend nights are Outrageous even at say the Flamingo. The best deal I know of right now is the 5 nights free at the Rio ( have to drive or Uber obviously) and book one of the weekend maybe the 16-21st and just pay for the next week out of pocket somewhere closer. Again the weekends are going to be about $150 a night. I would suggest you get upgraded to Diamond to at least save the resort fees. You can do that by joining Founders Card (costs about $250) but if you stay 6 or 7 nights you cover that cost AND you get a $100 free dining meal plus free valet parking at a minimum. This is a link you can use https://founderscard.com/membership?code... NOTE full disclosure I get POINTS if you do but it costs you NOTHING extra. You can do the math ............ its worth it. Diamond status MIGHT qualify you for some free nights also. You can read some other posts on that issue. If nothing else try the WSOP25 discount code on the Caesars booking site .... again you can read some talk about that in earlier posts. Good Luck
I have the same question and yes last year it was late. I think their attention is on the Paradise series. Until that is over I don't expect any schedule updates for the WSOP 2025 series in Vegas. Maybe they'll surprise me. I'll keep checking anyway.
Mr. MacCoy generally you are good at guessing dates based on previous years dates .
Only question is what will be crowd magnet new event is this year with buyin under $1000 and super big guarantee ?

Think DogFace above gave a pretty good summation of what to expect.
With GGPoker buying the series who knows what they may set up to put their fingerprint on this years action. If I had to guess with the players now fixated on Mystery bounties we might see a Huge payout low buyin event added.

IMHO low buy in $500-$800 with guarantee of 5 million will bring over 25000 or more players
Or go dramatic cray with ‘$1000 buy in event with 20 Million Guarantee !!!
* Last year’s Mystery Millions had a prize pool over 16 millions.!!!
PaxiFixi,
I agree with the RealMcCoy, having Diamond status is very worth it. Resort fees run about $40 per night, and since you're planning 14-15 nights, getting Caesars Diamond through the Founders card will definitely pay for itself, and then some. In addition to the money savings, you have priority lines for hotel check in and other things that can save you lots of wait time.
For what it's worth, I'm seeing Harrah's at an average of about $50 per night from June 16-30. Hotel rates are partially based on your rewards status, but maybe more on how much you gamble at their properties. I do have Diamond status, but I don't play a ton at Caesars properties, and when I do, it's pretty much just poker and no table games or slots. So if you play even a little at Caesars properties, you should get roughly similar rates with the Diamond card. But YMMV, as I've see prices all over the place depending on when you check. Good luck.

I booked a few weeks ago for about $100 per night after fees at Harrah's from 6/14-6/23. Quite happy with that. In my experience it's worth checking the rates semi-regularly until you see something you like. Caesars booking is strange alchemy and occasionally you can catch a favorable window. Sometimes checking through the app yielded better results for me than checking on a computer. FWIW, I am platinum status whose only real gambling activity is small sports bets and a few scattered hours of 1/3 NLHE. They don't ever throw comps or great offers my way, which means I'd be surprised if most people couldn't find a similar or better rate eventually. Timing seems important.
Apart from that, I do think prices are just going to keep climbing. Inflation is real and Vegas is increasingly budget-unfriendly.
Thank you so much guys, that helps a lot.
I think getting Diamond and then try RealMcCoys approach is the best option.
Good luck to all of you!
PaxiFixi,

This is a HUGE perk, Getting to buy into WSOP events in the VIP line (10 minute max wait vs easily +1 hour wait) and going to the head of the Horseshoe Poker Room Wait list is a TREMENDOUS non cash value. Who wants to stand in long slow lines in LV when you can jump to the front perfectly legally? To me that alone is worth its wait in gold over a couple week stay.
