Donald J. Trump (For everyone else except Victor)

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at

Moving to SF is like a great plan with one small fault

I remember watching Sesame Street during Loma Prieta quake and seeing what look like a bucket of water hit my bedroom window which happened to be our pool water splashing out with a lot of force.

My mom ran and picked me up and ran fast down the hallway and I noticed her bouncing off the hallway wall thinking that that we weird. She carried me outside and I vividly remember looking at an RV across the street shaking pretty hard.

Dunno why no one really reads anything at all carefully. I'm describing the events of my life, which I'm really really familiar with. You might just assume I know what they are.

I went to school in the East Bay. I later had a job in the East Bay and lived there. I later moved to SoCal when my kids were little to be near family. I later got a remote job for a company in SF where I went in sometimes, but not regularly. I never chose any inconvenient commute. It would never have been convenie

this sounds reasonable

i did find your "sf is fine" thing nonsense though, when i was there it's all anyone talked about was the juggling of housing and how much it cost to find a place where you felt comfortable walking home to at night

it was at the point where a number of companies had to provide commuter busses to bring people into work in the city because so many of them refused to live in the city

it was wild seeing a bunch of people in their 20s all making 3-4x national average income and all they could talk about was the cost of rent

i walked everywhere because i'm cheap and enjoy it (and large enough that i have unwarranted confidence i won't get mugged) and would witness people shooting up in the streets quite often

SF just hit a 10 year low for the amount of homeless people living in the streets. The city has been improving a lot on that front in the last two years - the SF community was pretty much in lockstep in wanting to solve this issue and I do believe that it really did piss off a llot of San Franciscans. But it was a shitshow there for a while. I lived in East bay for 25 years and then went Nor cal - or more nor cal

this is very encouraging to hear, haven't been back to sf since 2016 so it sounds like things have gotten a lot better since which is good to hear

i really liked the idea of being out there but couldn't stand how the entire city smells of stale urine - that's what i think of when i think of sf - it's the dominant memory, everything smelling of stale urine

I would love to live in North NorCal. Although some people apparently will think it means I'm gaslighting everything, I mean no offense to SF, but I would rather live in a Redwood Forest than inside any city.

Do you regularly have issues communicating with women, by any chance? Do you too frequently confuse women being nice for them being “condescending”? When you single people out for “power trips”, is it women you think of first? Bc all seemed to have occurred here today and it’s making me rethink my former highly held opinion of you.

Right. If there's any difference about how I treat you as a mod it's that I'm nicer to you. I am a founder of two different politics forums that split partly because (in my opinion) of mod/admin powertrips and I wasn't the least bit shy about saying that ever and those mods were almost all men.

by Luciom k

Because it was the question asked, not just as summarized by OYEZ , but as described in the opinion (which i linked).

The 400 years of common law were interrupted by the american federal constitution (pre XIV amendment) which didn't apply birthright citizenship to blacks.

So they don't work as precedent, as they were overrulled by a constitution.

Maybe I am missing something. Explain what legal permanent resident means and show me where it is used in Wong Kim.

I don't agree that the common law was interrupted, it was emphatically codified in the 14th with a nod to the only sovereign people in the US and not a British issue, the Indians.

This is your “nicer”? This? This???

I'm nice to most people as posters, you included as far as poster and mod can be separated.

As far as moderation goes: When there is a lower class, I am in it.

And stop assigning malice to me that isn’t there. Are you banned right now? Are you?? Stfu, you don’t get me at all. This is why we can’t have nice things.

Malice is not a good description of anything I described.

Good to see this being nipped in the bud. I've come to the conclusion, personally that Musk was attempting to normalize this kind of crap. Lots of people on TikTok have being doing it in videos and many have been fired or lost their positions for it. Here a priest from Michigan did it and lost his license with the church as a result.

People need to understand that this nazi/holocaust stuff is serious and you can't be trivializing it like this. People aren't accepting of this and they shouldn't be. The church says this dismissal was more for the fact that he was using his position to politically troll the opposition. Fine. Whatever you want to call it, this can't be allowed to become normal.

Calvin Robinson, who is listed as the priest-in-charge of St. Paul's Anglican Catholic Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan, performed the gesture at the end of a Jan. 25 speech at the National Pro-Life Summit in Washington, D.C.

On Wednesday, the Anglican Catholic Church posted a statement that said Robinson's "license in this Church has been revoked" after he made a "gesture that many have interpreted as a pro-Nazi salute."

"While we cannot say what was in Mr. Robinson's heart when he did this, his action appears to have been an attempt to curry favor with certain elements of the American political right by provoking its opposition," the statement read. "Mr. Robinson had been warned that online trolling and other such actions (whether in service of the left or right) are incompatible with a priestly vocation and was told to desist. Clearly, he has not, and as such, his license in this Church has been revoked. He is no longer serving as a priest in the ACC.
...
"The Holocaust was an episode of unspeakable horror, enacted by a regime of evil men. We condemn Nazi ideology and anti-Semitism in all its forms. And we believe that those who mimic the Nazi salute, even as a joke or an attempt to troll their opponents, trivialize the horror of the Holocaust and diminish the sacrifice of those who fought against its perpetrators. Such actions are harmful, divisive, and contrary to the tenets of Christian charity."

Maybe as bad a description as power tripping. When I go on a power trip you’ll know it as it will be a bloodbath the likes of which you have to see in your lifetime. In a forum of all men? Please give me a reason 😀

Just ban all the complainers, go full revenge. Reign of terror, followed by a coup. Then exile…

Paint the roses red, bitch

by BGnight k

People that want pilots and air traffic controllers hired based on their race and not merit are truly shitty people.

Except trump nomination of course .

by Luckbox Inc k

Even if there are other reasons shouldn't Trump being a shitty person outweigh those?

why if the alternative is utterly disgusting as well?

Also rickroll, you’re wrong about SF unless I spent time in a different city also named SF

by Crossnerd k

I’m actually struggling right now with how a lot of this is affecting my child, so I really dont need to be castigated by someone on my own ****ing team. In not dealing with any of this right now.

did the judicial freeze solve the problem for your family ?

by Montrealcorp k

Except trump nomination of course .

Or literally any of his cabinet picks.

by Luciom k

I’d be careful with where you’re going with this. I’m having a pretty shitty day and something makes me doubt your concern is genuine.

by ecriture d'adulte k

Incompetent people also. Like Trump having to rescind a sweeping spending freeze executive order because his administration is too incompetent to properly wrote one. Like nobody read it and said “hey are we trying to freeze Medicare payments because the wording doesn’t make it obvious we aren’t?”

Just fits in to all the stereotypes about conservatives being unqualified and not able to do the basic functions of their jobs

where were you when the Biden admin attempted the biggest fraud in US history trying to cancel more than a trillion of student debts in utter disregard of the constitution? that was so insanely worse than anything trump ever attempted yet you were silent.

no president in history ever attempted to misappropriate so many dollars from Americans in a blatant and brutal violation of the basic divisions of power.

I wonder why.

I’d tell everyone to calm down but I feel like yelling at people too so, I guess as you were

I’ll go calm down by myself 😀

the city has been improving since the Soros funded prosecutor got kicked in his sorry ass.

Chesa Boudin was a real enemy of the people, one of the few "true monsters" that can singlehandedly destroy a polity (if put in a position with real power, as it happened), and his removal allowed the city to breathe again.

Jenkins, her successor, isn't by any mean right-wing, but she at least is "normal" in the sense that she isn't fully captured by the horrific ideas of the worst part of the radical left ideology like Boudin was

I understand you might think I am dishonest with my inquiry but I truly dislike illegal actions no matter if I agree with the outcome.

the blanket freeze was found to be illegal so if that was what created problems for your family and that got solved I am happy you got redress from the courts.

that's actually what I love in the American system, a true division of power with entities that exist exclusively to protect citizens from other parts of government

by Gorgonian k

Or literally any of his cabinet picks.

Trump need bodies to blame since he will never be accountable for anything .
Trump is special , he deserve special treatments , his the envoy of god .
Trump is the perfect embodiment of what a human should be .
