2025 WSOP!!

2025 WSOP!!

I know it’s early and normally I’m not excited about WSOP this soon after but dang it, I’m itching to go back already!

I made some deep runs and cashed in 2024 but still feel unfulfilled by going home without some hardware on my wrist.

2025 is my year!!

Any thoughts on how the GG purchase might change it in 2025, if at all? I suspect it will be pretty similar to last year but with more online qualifiers, satellites, and events.

Hey WSOP ..Just in case if you are listening …

“Come up with $500 tournament with 10 million guarantee and you will get a record crowd over 35000”

Can you buy into the Main Event online anywhere? (From the UK)

Don't fancy carrying over 10k in cash with me and my bank is useless will probably run into issues if I try to spend 10k at once on my bank card at the casino lol

I have travelled from the UK to play the main three times. I believe if you carry more than $10,000 in cash you need to declare it, and I wanted to avoid that.

Each time I wired funds to the casino cage, after careful conversations with WSOP people about how to do it. It required a visit to my bank and a charge for a wire transfer but it worked well.

Each time I got great help from Tyler Pipal (tpipal@caesars.com), who was WSOP Operations Manager. Last contact with him was 2022, so he may not be involved now, but may be worth a try.

One trap to avoid, which I fell into, is sending the money in one transaction. It put me on the radar of my bank's Anti money-laundering team. I believe doing it in two chunks avoids this. They Googled me, saw pictures at a poker table, and concluded that I was a professional gambler. It took many months to satisfy them as to source of funds etc.

I have carried a few thousand in cash each time as well, and was a bit nervous about it . Each time I split it into smaller bundles and put it in several different places in my hand luggage. I had no issues.

Tyler was big help. I also met him personally in Las Vegas .

Unfortunately he doesn’t work there .

A great loss !

GG is going to have NO tournament or registration software. It will take years to develop that. CET has archaic networks and hardware. It looks like their systems are running on DOS. My guess is CET will remain in charge of all that stuff.

Will the WSOP+ app not be an option?

Will the WSOP+ app not be an option?

That sounds like something that goes on your phone. That's just a client. It's a tiny part of the whole that has to manage and assign players to seats, entire events within the WSOP as a whole, and like that. There's a mountain of software used to manage the WSOP and it was written decades ago.

As of last year 2024 Caesars / WSOP no longer accepts DIRECT wire transfers (under $100K ) You must send an email to WSOPREG@caesars.com including your full legal name and Caesars Reward account number. You will then receive wire information with a special code only you can use. Wires will be returned to anyone that doesn’t get pre-approved. (> $100,000 ONLY )

**NEW FOR 2024** Participants that wish to pay for their Tournament registrations via a wire transfer or ACH will need to do so through Bravo TBIC. More information about this process can be found on the Bravo Poker Live website.

Basically if you want to send money $10,000 type for WSOP entry you have to send a physical Certified Cashiers Check. The process is a little cumbersome but not unbearably complicated at least for domestic checks.

They will release the rules for 2025 soon. I went through the Cashiers Check process in 2024 since I would NEVER authorize Bravo Pokers affiliate direct access to my bank account and provide all of the information they required. The app was PAYFINITI

Possibly someone that used the system can provide feedback to you on how it went but personally I for one will NEVER give 3rd Parties in this day and age of cyber crime direct access to my Bank accounts.

The other alternative is to establish a bank account with a major international bank that has a branch in Las Vegas such as Chase or Wells Fargo ( heard more about Wells Fargo than any other ). Good luck - I've flown with +$10K cash DOMESTICALLY without an issue but yes there is always a risk of hassle and theoretically confiscation by TSA, and some of the horror stories are real.

Good luck and keep checking this years WSOP website for this years rules.

I don't know about any interfaces required for external systems/services, but the core system could be designed, developed, tested, and deployed easily within 6 months time by a qualified team of 5 unless Caesars balks at hardware upgrades, which would certainly be required for a modern platform.

Or, you could host it on the cloud, with additional security, and skip most of the required hardware upgrades (except workstations, laptops, etc).

This ain't rocket science.

I disagree.

by pig4bill k

I disagree.

Pig4bill are you working in to casino industry? It seems like .

I know much about the technology and software, but has no clue in regards to problems face by any particular industry due to other cross working software.

by pig4bill k

I disagree.

You mentioned it runs on DOS. That alone is a big hint that it is a very simplistic functioning piece of software.

The code base is probably no more than 100k lines. And a lot of that can be replaced by modern methods with on order of magnitude less lines.

Sure, if you want to add a bunch of unneeded features into the design docs it might take longer.

Interfaces are another story, and I have no idea how many exist to external systems.

But I stand by my claim. I'd be willing to take the contract on if I could get a clean requirements doc.

The client looks like it runs on DOD, or character cell at least. I have no idea what the back end runs on.

I am surprised that by midnight a lot of the room is just done, i still think starting later but playing tilllater is better

at least for me since i need ANy kind of edge I can get from being a losing player to a 0.1% lesser losing player

But hopping earlier ,February 4th to 7th.

I've got some CET mailers offering 5 complimentary nights. I will be booking Paris or Horseshoe once they announce the schedule. I would love it to be sooner than later. I might even make two separate trips this summer, and all I'll have to pay is resort fee and airfare! Exciting!!!

14th February is my birthday so yes please!

Founders times the renewal with the the annual year end that CAESARS has were points revert to zero which is the end of January. Currently on the site that is all they show (and could offer ) effectively good thru 1/31/25. I will be monitoring what FoundersCard shows after that and make sure the board is aware of the ongoing status of that PERK. I sure as hell don't want to mislead anyone since it is such a critical status upgrade for we poker players.

Founders Card has switched to a relationship with WYNN. Unless they reactivate their Caesars relationship the Diamond status is now out the window.

Someone has an answer to this, booked my room last week (with Diamond status, no resort fees), now Im back to gold do they charge the resort fees for my stay after my trip?😬

Where do you see that you are back to gold ?

I'm in same boat as Phil8700, I was Diamond until Jan30 and had booked my stay in mid January . At that time the booking showed 0 resort fee's which is why I booked.
Now my Status on Caesars Rewards web site shows back to Gold? They better not charge me resort fee's when I check out of the hotel as I booked based on overall rate( all charges, taxes etc...)

So as of today it’s showing as Gold ? ( Today being 1st February)

Mine shows gold, too. I have Diamond through my Wyndham Business Earners credit card. How do you guys have Diamond? I’m wondering if the credit card route no longer matches to Diamond or if it’s a glitch on Caesar’s end that they’ll hopefully correct soon.
