2025 WSOP!!

2025 WSOP!!

I know it’s early and normally I’m not excited about WSOP this soon after but dang it, I’m itching to go back already!

I made some deep runs and cashed in 2024 but still feel unfulfilled by going home without some hardware on my wrist.

2025 is my year!!

Any thoughts on how the GG purchase might change it in 2025, if at all? I suspect it will be pretty similar to last year but with more online qualifiers, satellites, and events.

If you can guess from previous years announcements dates, can you forecast the 2025 schedule announcements dates ?

Here is the previous announcement dates :

1. 2024. 16 February.
2. 2023. 3 February.
3. 2022 23 February.
4. 2021. 15 June. (November WSOP).
5. 2019. 9 January.
6. 2018. December 12 2017.
7. 2017 January 25.
8. 2016. *December 18th 2015 .
* All popular tournaments dates only.

As per “Pokerfuse” : “…. that the full WSOP 2025 schedule can be expected by the end of February….”

If they are correct my guess would be 25th February.

I'm about 95% sure that if you are not actually Diamond during your stay, you will be assessed resort fees. The rate is the rate, and that will be honored. Resort fees are waived for Diamond members. I hope it works out for anyone trying. I'm also in the Wyndham credit card match screwed bucket currently.

I don't think that is the case, they have to advertise the complete rate total upfront at time of booking. If they do try and charge me they are going to be in for a fight, but still, I don't expect them to do so. I have a copy (screenshot) of my booking of the rate and shows resort fee' $0.

Hotels can still charge resort fees as long as the resort fee is included in the initially and most prominently advertised price.

If you look at your confirmation email they CLEARLY state a GRAND TOTAL including taxes. If you booked while Diamond that has no resort fees. You (and I) and everyone caught in this donut hole should be fine for the hotel. Everything else not so much.

I had sent an email to Caesar's Rewards asking them to move me back to Diamond. I received a response today saying Wyndham no longer matches. This is contrary to what they told me on the phone yesterday. It seems they don't even know what's going on with it. I'll still try calling tomorrow, but it sounds like it isn't going to happen

Meh that makes no sense, they literally have a link on the Ceasars member website for that exact upgrade. I know you know your stuff but that would be bizarre unless they aren't changing their own website .

I called them and they confirmed I can not get Diamond.

Toward the bottom on the link you provided, it states they’ll match if you earned the status through Wyndham. So if you stay a ton of nights with him to achieve their high status, then you can match.

I, and suspect most others, had automatic Diamond through Wyndham via the credit card and not because of the number of nights stayed. They no longer match that anymore unless earned.

So yeah, confirmed screwed.

Just called and explained the situation and they said they honor the rate I booked at. I had them look it up in the system and read back to me the grand total I still owe on the room and it’s the same as the email confirmation they sent me back when I booked it.

So it does seem they honor the deal I made while Diamond even though I’m no longer Diamond. Glad I booked early!

Great work, and great news! Glad my suspicion was incorrect.

Guys I wish you guys are correct . I had exactly opposite situation 3/4 years ago. I was gold and was short 500- 600 points in getting diamond. I had 2 stays of 4 nights so I was being charged resort fees even the rooms were comps.
After booking I called to remove the resort fees. They said at present you are Gold so we can not remove the resort fees but do not worry by the time you will be here , you will earn some points ( I had about a months time before WSOP starts ) and we only charge resort fees based on the status at the time of check out .
As per my understanding the room charges will stay what ever you are quoted at the time of booking but resort fees is based on the status at the time of check out !
I hope I am wrong

Different situation you say you BOOKED as a GOLD therefore resort fees would apply at the time of booking. Now if you BECAME Diamond by the time you checked out you should have had the resort fees removed. But possibly you are confused because jumping from Gold to Diamond is a pretty big step up. If YOUR move up was Gold to Platinum then you are still subject to Resort Fee's.

I confirmed price is a confirmed price When they state GRAND TOTAL and that specifically includes taxes (which it does on their confirmation) their is no legal basis to charge someone a dime more

Cromwell 6/15 - 6/27
Subtotal: $379.00
Taxes: $50.71
Deposit Received: $49.89
Room Total: $429.71

GRAND TOTAL $429.71

There just isn't a "gotcha" provision to allow them to do otherwise. My time at the Horseshoe after this is exactly the same and since they took Deposits on both at the listed PRICING they will honor it just as Dr Meh has specified per his phone conversation above.

I directly asked them this question as part of my concern is they’ll pull shenanigans when I’m checking out and try to get me to pay resort fees.

They flat out told me the amount I owe and said the amount I will pay is the grand total when they booked it.

Of course, I don’t always trust people so part of me is still expecting the possibility that they’ll try to tack them on when I check in or out.

I really hope not, though. It would be a bad look for them and there’s probably enough people in similar positions that they would pursue some legal remedies. In fact, maybe there has been some legal precedence set since your experience and currently where they have to honor the amount quoted when booked. I know there have been some legal challenges to resort fees in general in the last few years so maybe they have to honor booking price now.

You may be correct Sir, I remember I earned almost 10 k points in the month of march ( Thx to Ceasars CC ) and was short 500 and some odds point to become Diamond. When reached Las Vegas I was Gold but after 2 days I checked my points crossed required 15000 so before I checked out I had Diamond card .

Yeah, but you wouldn't like it if you booked with 14,000 tc and got quoted the resort fee normal prices, and then earned 100 tc on your first day, and got charged the quoted price.

I would not be surprised one single bit if the CET reservation system was unable to take into account whether your card status expired or not before your trip.

Of course not, and I would certainly try to have them eliminate the resort fees demonstrating I am qualified for there exemption based on my current status. Never hurts to ask and the higher you can go on the management food chain the more likely you are to get a positive answer and doing it face to face helps also. I don't ask for much and am not a demanding patron and I personally have never had an issue with CET being anything but fair to me during my many years of stays. Might have just been lucky but I'm not concerned at all about the room charge. My issue will be seeing if I can be exempted from the valet charges...that I don't have much confidence in and may end up with a lot of self parking as platinum.

I would think the decision on valet would be made at the valet station. Show your card, be exempt from charges.

The distance from the room elevators to the parking garage may be about the same as to the front of the hotel anyway.

It's not really an easy walk in June.

Actually, for me, it's not a big deal in the morning. I stayed at the Tropicana a few years ago and found that at 9:00 a.m. even in the summer it's not a difficult walk on the shady side of the street. LINQ and Harrah's are Ceasars properties. A little closer, and easier to cut through air-conditioned casinos on the way.

If it's too crazy hot, can walk indoors most of the way to MGM (or just stay at MGM) and take monorail to the Horseshoe/Paris stop. Or can walk to Aria and take free tram to Bellagio and walk from there to the Shoe.

At night after play is over, the walk back to the hotel is pleasant and can stop for a drink/food en route.

But I get it -- staying at the Shoe/Paris means you never have to go outside, which has some appeal

They installed electronic readers a couple years ago at the Horseshoe valet and it hits your room charge when you scan your ticket - it should always be comped for a Diamond but I have had to have an incorrect billing reversed in the past.

Unless they have significantly changed the diamond card this year I plan on flashing my 2024 card to use the Tournament VIP buy in lines that are manned by typically bored security guards to keep out the "riff raff" which I will be this time around 😀 I'm still holding out hope FC changes again this year or my Wyndham status (hotel stays) transfer goes through ( I might have misstated my Wyndham status a little LOL but I have stayed a LOT at their properties the last two years building my status or something else pops up. Worst comes to worst I may have to frequent a Local Horseshoe that I prefer to avoid (in the city) and build points the old fashion way. Prior to the WSOP. Obviously I would have to hammer the 10X point days to have a shot. Diamond status really makes my life a lot cheaper and simpler.
